I hadn't seen him in a while. Hobi was one to make me wait every time he came back from tour. I still remembered how we met as if it were yesterday.
*Flashback*
I had been running late for work that day when I nearly crashed into someone. He was sweet about it, and helped me up and off the floor. I thought little of it at the time, and ran off, trying to make it in time to work.
Unfortunately, I was late, and that had been the twelfth time that month. I was promptly dismissed and fired for unpunctuality. I walked home that afternoon, the sky gray as it rained, wandering the street like a lost puppy. I could have cared less if a lightning bolt had struck me down right then and there. As a matter of fact, I wished it had at the time.
Luck seemed to be against me. How could I been so reckless I wondered every time I was late, and now here were the consequences.
Just as I made my way around the corner, as if by fate, I bumped into that same stranger I had that morning, my eyes narrowing.
"Hey? Aren't you that girl who bumped into me and didn't even apologize?" he giggled out.
Oh hell no, I had no time to begin a fight with anyone.
"Yeah," I mumbled, my eyes raising to scan the man.
He was under his umbrella wearing a black sweater and denim jeans. He smiled at me, his eyes gently scanning me. Hr seemed to be trying to figure me out, a hand extending out to me.
"Hi, I'm Hoseok. But you can call me your Hope! What's your name?"
"Y/N"
"Fine, then I'm Y/N's Hope!"
He took a good look at me again, giving a small smirk, placed me under the umbrella, and accompanied me home. He spoke while we walked, but I was paying little attention my mind only on the fact that I had just lost my job.
Finally reaching my doorstep, he waited for me to say something, but I didn't, walking up to the door and unlocking it. I went inside, changed my clothes, took a shower, and proceeded to cry myself to sleep.
The next morning, though, I awoke to a knock at my door. I sluggishly dragged my ass to answer it, unwilling and uncaring to face whoever it was.
Oh, what a surprise was in stored for me when I opened it to find him standing there.
"Good afternoon Y/N! I just came by to see if you were finally willing to talk to me since we didn't even speak yesterday."
I nearly slammed the door at his face, both in shock, and annoyance.
*Present time*
We hit it off well from there to be completely honest. He would come by often to check up on me until I finally let him in and told him what had happened that day. He helped me find a new job, started visiting me, called me, and soon after we began dating. It wasn't anything special, the way he asks me to be his girl, it happened the day I found out he was a member of a very famous K-pop boy group.
That's when we had a long talk. I told him it would be really hard to continue our friendship without a fan misinterpreting us.
He paused, looked up at me, and with a devilish smirk said, "let them misinterpret Y/N. I love you and could care less who knew."
Smooth Hoseok... Real smooth.
From there we decided to go public a week after, receiving both criticism and love from his fans.
I stood silently at the airport, my hands in my jeans as I waited patiently for him to arrive. I was nervous. I hadn't seen him for a month and really wanted to spend time with him. He was the best thing to have happened to me after losing my job. I felt like a middle schooler awaiting for her sweetheart to make it to class. The same honeymoon feeling made my heart race in anticipation.
Finally, I saw that familiar silhouette of his from a distance. I ran to him, my fluffy sweater getting in the way from running any faster. Once I reached him, I flung my arms around him and plunged into his embrace.
"Y/N! I missed you so much! Oh my, we have so much to talk about!" he said to me, placing his hand over my head, and proceeded to pet it.
"I missed you to Hobi!" I wailed out, my tears getting the better of me.
Just as I was about to reach upwards to kiss him, he pushed me off and walked away from me. Confused, I stared until he reached the counter of a dining area in the airport. He stood in line, ordered, and then began eating.
"Seriously?" I grumbled jokingly.
"Hey, food is life," he answered back with a giggle.
