BTS Persona Reaction

So this probably isn't the content you came here for but like, it's my book I guess, so um I'll do what I want *sip sip*

So for Persona and Boy With Luv I'll react to the MV as well as like the studio version. So that means I'll go over visuals, theories, and the works. So without further ado, let's go.

******

Intro:  Persona
So I just love this song. Personally, I think Joonie has a unique rap style and I always appreciate when he gets to showcase that. His lyrics were really open and honest, and I think that it really set the stage for the album itself. The idea of knowing yourself, in the deepest ways is scary but also very beautiful. I always appreciate the wordplay he uses as well. Of course, hearing him talk about the more judgmental topics was a bit difficult, like the "But Namjoon" reference. I think it's sad that on top of all the hard work he puts in, he has to handle those types of things as well. But I think it speaks more clearly of his personality that he knows but doesn't let them change or hinder his work.
The beats were all really nice and of course, I really enjoyed the old and familiar tunes.
The video, of course, was a huge throwback, and it just made me really happy to see such a grown and mature Namjoon in an old set and just enjoying himself. I love the color schemes and I think they matched the song really well. But I think my favorite part of the video is just how happy he looks. Like he truly seems to be enjoying himself and I think that is what makes me feel so fond of the song.

Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey)
Oh boi
Wow
I love this song. First I think that the lyrics are really fun and sweet. And of course, I love the throwback to Boy In Luv with the title. I really love the vocal division as well. I think that the harmonies and melodies are spot-on. I love each individual verse. And Yoongi's rap was incredible. The flow was so unique and different from anything he's ever done before and I think that was refreshing for the album. Of course, I loved the other rap verses as well.
Halsey didn't have a whole lot, but what she did have was very well done. I really liked all of her ad-lib parts. Her voice really matched the song and the style the boys did it in.
The video was so colorful and fun. I really liked the imagery and shots. I thought it went really well and also I'M PRETTY SURE THAT WE GOT 100M VIEWS ALREADY!

Mikrokosmos
This is probably my favorite song on the album. The lyrics are so beautiful and touching. The universe is big, but we each have our own small one too. Life has been difficult for a bit and the song was really calming and reassuring. I cried when I first heard it, and I basically cry every time still.

Make It Right
This song is so good. I can definitely hear Ed Sheeran's style in it. This song is also very comforting to me. I really like the beat to this, it just feels very summery and carefree. I really like Jimin's voice in this especially.

HOME
This song is honestly so sweet. I always appreciate when BTS puts out a song that is specifically written for their fans. Even as their fame grows, they thank us for our support. I'm glad we get to be their safe place, and I hope we all continue to work hard to respect and support them.

Jamais Vu
This unit song is everything. The grouping for it was very strategic I think. Jin, Hoseok, and Jungkook all have very melodious voices and complementary styles. I'm very glad that Jin and Hoseok are able to show off their voices. The lyrics of this song are very sad and heartbreaking. I also really like video game imagery. I'm excited to see this song performed.

Dionysus
This is the signature smackdown song. At first glance it kind of just seems like a party and drinking song, which is fine and boppy. And it is that in part, but I read something else on Twitter that caught my attention. They said that some of the word choices pointed towards the idea that it meant they were diving into their work. That they would continue to do what they love with their whole hearts no matter what the industry wants.
That may be an incorrect representation, but I find it comforting and meaningful.

******
Really I think that's the beauty of music. A writer may interpret their lyrics in one way, while an artist may interpret them differently. Then, of course, the listener can interpret lyrics differently. I think that the power of music is so beautiful. It can bring us together and connect us through our different experiences. I just find that beautiful.

Anyways, that concludes my album reaction. It wasn't very technical or very interesting, but I enjoyed this. If you want me to do this more often, let me know! Also, let me know what you think of the album!
