The sun was beating down against me, my skin being irritated and heated from the rays of the sun amongst the clear blue sky. Sweat beads down my forehead as i moved the final piece of furniture from the truck and into my new home, with the help of the movers. I stood up straight, stretching my back, hands on my hips. I heard a few satisfying pops, arms up and stretching them over my head. I look around my new furnished apartment, a 2 bedroom apartment with an ensuite, a bathroom, living room and the kitchen. I was standing in the living room, planning out the place to split it as a dining area and the living room, the kitchen being on the far back of the room. The walls were a clean cream white, the carpet clean and white as well. It was a pretty big apartment for two people, the rent being reasonable as $450 per week. The apartment was on the third floor, the roof of the building above us. Behind me was a balcony that looked out to another apartment building in front of me, the sky and trees surrounding us as well. I walk towards the first bedroom being really big with sliding mirror door wardrobe. I enter the ensuite, the room being a little bigger, along with the bathroom being bigger than the one next to the other bedroom. The walls were pristine white, clear of any marks and had a larger wardrobe as well. The carpet was beige, two windows in the room. I faced the first window, seeing straight into someones else's bedroom. The window was closed, the curtains opened to reveal a similar bedroom like mine.

"Man, the designers can't come up with something original, can they?" I turn away, starting to feel like a creep staring into someone else's room. "Hey, Hoseok! I shot this room!"

"No fair! You got the ensuite!" Hoseok pouts as he enters my room as I look at him smugly.

"First come first serve." I chuckle, unpacking my belongings and fix the empty bedroom to suit my needs. As I was moving my desk in front of the window, the one that looked into another window, I noticed a girl sitting there, asleep in her desk chair. I chuckle, seeing her chair slowly move around until it stops and I can see her clearly. Her hair was cut short with highlighted (f/c). She was wearing (c/o), her glasses almost falling off her nose. Suddenly, I hear an alarm and the girl jolts up in surprise, turning her alarm off. She yawns and looks up, noticing me. I smile at her and wave, but her face stays passive. She doesn't even wave back. Instead, she just blinks at me and closes her curtain. "Rude much?"

"Hey, Yoongi!"

"What Hoseok!?"

"Wanna go out for dinner?" Hoseok pops his head through my bedroom door, grinning at me.

"We haven't gone shopping to restock the kitchen, so why not."

"Yes! Let's go to this amazing restaurant nearby. I heard they are the best!" Hoseok pulls me by my arms, me grabbing the house keys and my wallet.

"Calm Hoseok. Calm."

It was late at night and I was up catching up on some uni work, being behind since I was busy moving apartments. A light captures my attention and I look through my window. I see the girl I saw yesterday morning. I check my phone and furrow my brows at the time. It was 2 in the morning, what is she still doing up. I notice her stagger around her room, before sitting down in her desk chair. Is she ok?? She shakes her head and pulls out some work to do. How is she working this late at night, besides me, I have a reason. Her window was open so I open mine, the cool air breeze wafting through my room.

"Hey." the girl doesn't look up. "The one in the (c/o)." the girl finally notices and looks up. I wave at her, smiling. I still got the same reaction as yesterday morning. The girl just blinks at me and closes her curtains. Well, she's still rude. Having worked another hour, I head off to sleep.

"YOONGI!" My alarm wakes me up, a heated body throwing itself on me.

"Get off me!" I groan in pain, trying to get Hoseok off from me. Too heavy! Hoseok shakes me, hard until I kick him, hearing a satisfying thud on the floor.

"Yoongi! Why are you so mean!?" I grumble at him, covering my head with the blanket and falling back to sleep. Well, that was difficult to do when the blanket was snatched off from me. I curl into a ball, trying to get warm but groan out loud in defeat. I slowly sit up, rubbing my eyes. "Finally you're awake. You don't have much time left till your first class starts." I nod at Hoseok, pushing him out of my room to get ready. "I'll make some breakfast for you!" Hoseok shouts from the other side of the door, my head nodding unconsciously. Yawning, I enter the bathroom with my clothes and a towel, freshening up for the day. After showering and brushing my teeth, I start to pack my books in my bag, along with my phone, chargers, wallet and my glasses. Stretching, my eyes land in the familiar room in front of me, the curtains open once again. The room was empty and the girl was nowhere to be seen. I wait for some time until I see her. My cheeks get warmer, seeing her in an oversized sweater, and jeans. She looked quite cute, her glasses on and her hair falling in front of her face from being tucked behind her ears. I open my window and she does the same. Like yesterday morning, I call out to her.

"Hey!" The girl looks up this time, a small blush on her cheeks. I grin at her, waving but she doesn't respond. At least she looked up at me the first time I called. Progress right there. She blinks and walks away, probably to do whatever she had planned for today. Exiting out of my room with my belongings as well as the keys, I leave for school, completely ignoring Hoseok as he was cooking.

Walking around the university, I take out my timetable. Hmm, got Computer Science first and then Performing Arts. Cool. Some students nod or wave my way, me doing the same as I walk to backfield behind the school. Some athletes run past me, most of them greeting me. I head towards my favourite area in the field, being almost secluded from the people. Walking closer to the area, a notice a few familiar heads.

"Yoongi!"

"Morning!"

"Wassup man!"

"Here's your coffee."

"Did u skip breakfast again?"

"Hey, guys." I sit down next to Jimin and Jin, Jin giving me some food he cooked. Namjoon passes me my usual coffee, careful not to break anything. Jungkook and Taehyung go back to conversing. Jimin tries to sneak a peek at what Jin gave me but is whacked by him.

"You already ate. That's for Yoongi."

"But I'm still hungry!" Jimin pouts and I roll my eyes, passing him the brown paper bag as I scroll through Instagram.

"Don't worry Jin, I'm not hungry." I sip my coffee, hearing Hoseok in the distance.

"YOONGI!"

"Hey." I mutter back.

"How could you just walk off like that when I was cooking for you!" Hoseok pouts at me and I just look at him.

"You ate it though so it's fine." Hoseok gapes at me, nervously chuckling as he rubbed his nape.

"Ok, you caught me." Looking past Hoseok, I see someone somewhat familiar. I glare at the figure, trying to figure who it was. My mind wanders to the window girl. Does she go to the same school as me? Maybe I could finally talk to her.

"Yoongi?" Namjoon waves a hand in front of my face and I stare back at him. "Who are you looking at?" I shake my head at him.

"No one. Don't worry." He nods and goes back to talking to Jin. I stare at the same place where the girl was to find it empty. My eyes scan the field, trying to find her. Maybe it was my imagination. The bell rings and I get up, Grabbing my empty coffee cup. "See you guys later." I wave at everyone as they disperse to their classes. Entering the building again, I head to Computer Science. As I was walking, I swear I saw window girl run past me. I stop and look behind me, to see no one there. I stand there confused. Probably someone that looks like her. Shaking my head, I enter the class, already wishing the day would end.

My last class had ended and I was heading home. Hands in my pockets, I casually take my time, walking along the pathway as I walked past homes, people and a playground with screaming children. I get my keys out as I stand in front of my apartment building. Unlocking the door, I enter, heading to the elevator to the third floor. I open my front door and enter the apartment, taking my shoes off. Walking to my room, I jump in my desk chair, stretching and yawning. Uni is such a pain. I place my bag down on the desk, planning to take a small nap. I shift uncomfortably in the chair, the room being a little stuffy. I open my window and instantly see window girl sitting at her desk like I did yesterday. I smile seeing her work and push her hair behind her ears. No matter how rude she may be, there's something that makes me want to try to get to know her.

"Hey there!" I call out to her and wave, her looking up at me. She blinks like she did yesterday, but leaves her curtain open. She didn't close them! Yes, progress! I spin around in my chair, ecstatic. I grin at her working form, suddenly having energy. I don't think I need to take that nap anymore.

As days go past, I do my usual routine with the window girl. I call out to her and wave in the morning, a bright smile on my face and I do the same when I get home after school. Hoseok sometimes joins me in some mornings and afternoons, before he heads to class, buts it's usually just me doing this every morning and every afternoon. Every day, I make sure to look out for her at uni, see if she goes to the same uni as me. It would really be awesome if she did, that way, I would get to talk to her. I walk around the school every free chance I get but don't see her. Weeks go by and there is still no further progress other than the girl looking up at me at the first call, before doing whatever she was doing. Until one day, I finally get a response. It was like every other morning, Hoseok waking me up so I could get ready in the morning. Like every other morning, I open my window and call out to the girl, waving.

"Hey!" The girl looks back at me and my whole body freezes. Her body moves and her arm waves back at me. My arm stays in mid-air, frozen as I just try to register what had happened. She waved back. I stare at her arm, then at mine and back at her face. Her face was still passive, but, I think there was a small hint of a smile at the curl of her lips. The girl walks away for her planned day and I jump up in happiness.

"She waved back!"

"She waved back!?" Hoseok screams, running in my room. I look at him, a bright smile on my face. I nod at him and he screams, jumping up and down.

"She waved back!" we both grin, the neighbours shouting at us to quieten down. I had a grin on my face the whole day, nothing being able to dampen my mood. Even if Namjoon spilled coffee on my brand new white sweater. He was scared and ran off but I honestly didn't give a shit. Everyone was confused but glad I wasn't in a killing mood. I came back home after my classes ended, a smile still on my face. I spin in my desk chair, still happy. Looking out the window, I see if the girl was there. She wasn't. My smile faltered but I perked up, knowing that she may be just busy. The night continues to draw on, having eaten and taken a shower now just scrolling through Instagram. A light flickers on in the corner of my eye and I sit up straight. I check the time and see that it was pretty late. I see the girl walk into her room, stretching before sitting in her desk chair. I can't call out to her since people are sleeping. What should I do? Wait, doesn't Hoseok have a small whiteboard? I check his room and I was right. I take it along with some markers. Wait, how am I going to get her attention? Opening the window, I start waving my arms at her like crazy, trying to get the girls attention. She finally looks up at me and I wave at her with one arm. I put a finger, signally for her to wait a minute. What should I ask her?

'What's your name?'

I write the question on the board and I show it to her, my face on the side. The girl just looks at me and blinks, a frown evident on her face. My smile falters instantly as she hastily closes her curtain. My arm drops the board on my desk, seeing the curtain closed and the lights turned off. I did something wrong. I look down at the board mad. Maybe it didn't affect the routine. Yeah, maybe tomorrow morning, she will wave back at me. Sighing sadly at the turn of events, I head to bed, defeated.

Her curtains are closed. I stand there miserable, a frown on my face. I got up in the morning and had gotten ready like I do every morning before I wave to the window girl. But this morning, her curtains were closed. She didn't even open them once. I stood there, not caring that I was late for class, I wanted to see her. Guilt settles in the pits of my stomach, my mind in overdrive trying to figure out what I did wrong. My mood darkened that day when Hoseok dragged me to uni. Namjoon had the right to be scared, me pouring my coffee all over his sweater. Everyone was scared. I was in the mood to kill. Not even Jin's meals were able to brighten my mood. I was mad and absolutely peeved, every little thing ticking me off. I was kicked out of all my classes today, yelling at another student for annoying me with whatever little habit they were acting on. I couldn't think. At the end of the day, I walked home, sitting in my desk chair and waiting for the girl to open her curtains again.

I stayed up for hours, not going to sleep, just so maybe she would open her window and her curtain, so I could see her. My mood darkened, energy completely gone. Many days had gone past and I haven't seen window girl yet. I really wanted to see her. Everyone was worried. I wasn't in the mood to do anything at all. I was just, tired. I just really wanted to see her and apologise for whatever I did. It was another long night, My head constantly nodding off to sleep. I tried to stay awake like I did every other day, but the lack of sleep was finally getting to me. Before my eyes finally closed, I heard the familiar screech of a window opening. I sat up straight, eyes wide open. It's her. I finally can see her. After so long, she finally opened her window and her curtain. My body suddenly sagged from fatigue, not the one from lack of sleep, but from relief. I can see her. I open my window and grab the whiteboard. She sees me and was about to close her curtain again.

"Wait!" I shout out to her, cringing as the noise travels in the late night. She looks at me, arms paused.

'I'm so sorry for whatever I did'

I show her the board and she drops her arms, me releasing a breath of relief.

'Can we go back to how we were before. Please'

She nodded. I let out a sigh. The girl waves back before closing her curtain and going to sleep for the night. I place the board down on the desk, happiness filling me. Everything is fine now. I finally fall asleep, after so long.

It was the weekend and I was listening to some music and reading a book. I look up for the nth time this hour, checking if the girl was back. I had woken up extremely late today but had gone out today with the guys. I finally see the curtains open and I see her. I smile bright, sitting up.

"Hey!" I call out to her, waving at her and she does the same, sitting down at her desk. "My name is Yoongi. What's yours?" the girl doesn't respond but blinks at me. I bite down on my bottom lip from embarrassment. Ok, different question. "How was your day?" still no reply. "Do you want to know about my day?" I ask and I suddenly see her straighten, nodding her head. Huh, that's new. I smile at her and recite my day, even if it was a little boring. We talked all night, well I talked all night. I was more than happy to tell the girl a little more about myself, even though I don't know her name. The girl sat there, a small smile on her face as I explained my day to her and about myself. It was part of the new routine we have now. From that day on, every afternoon when I got home from work, I would talk to the girl, sometimes talking straight into the night about my day or anything that would pop into my head. She didn't mind that we talked for a long time. She would smile and nod. Sometimes, if the girl was busy, I would just watch her, just to make sure she would sleep that night. Sometimes I would tell her to go to sleep and she would, other times, I end up falling asleep as she works all night. I felt bad that she doesn't get enough sleep. I want her to.

It was late at night and I was in my chair, arms crossed in front of my chest as I start to fall asleep. Another night where I watched over the girl to make sure she got enough sleep. But like most nights, I fell asleep before her. Suddenly, I heard a door open and close, my body shooting up from the noise. I look out the window and see a figure walking away from the apartment building opposite mine. They walk under the streetlamp and I instantly recognise them as the window girl. What is she doing? It's not safe for her to be out at this time! I quickly grab a jacket and put on my joggers, running out of the building along with my keys and phone. I quietly exit the building, following behind her to make sure she stays safe.

I follow her for a few more minutes until I see her walk into an abandoned building. What is she doing here? I stand there confused. I look around to see if there was anyone else around until my ears pick up on faint music and someone singing. I strain my ears and my attention heads to the building. It's coming from in there. I follow the soothing notes, opening a door until I come face to face with the girl. My body was paralysed, my heart and mind in a calm state. I swoon instantly, cheeks red as I watch the girl dance and sing. Her voice was so sweet and soothing, her body smooth and graceful. She's amazing. I lean on the door, holding myself up, my body suddenly weak. I continue watching, my body suddenly taking over and walking over to her. My mind screams to stop, but I just want to hold her. She continues dancing and I join her, my mind and body miraculously knowing the moves and the lyrics.

She doesn't notice. Doesn't notice as she kneels on the floor. I kneel in front of her, hands on her shoulders. She looks up, shocked. She just blinks at me, her exterior softening, a small smile forming on her face. The passive face she had held this entire time completely vanished and I instantly know that I finally dug past her walls to finally get to know her better. She smiles at me brighter, a few tears falling down her face. She waves at me like we do every morning and afternoon. I chuckle, wiping her tears away. She hugs me and I try to hold back my tears, holding her close to me. My heart beats faster from her warmth and I hesitantly let her go. She smiles at me once again, so big and so bright, her eyes closed into crescents. She opens her eyes, still smiling at me. I smile at her softly, the smile instantly getting bigger.

"My names Yoongi. What's yours?"

"Hello, Yoongi. I'm (y/n)."
