The moon, as it has always done, shines its light amidst the darkness that is the night. The stars twinkle and shine next to the moon, the dark sky not seeming so lonely. The night continues to draw on, seconds ticking by as those within their houses are in their slumber. The streets were desolate and silent as the lone figure crept up to the jewelry store, easily unlocking the door. They entered the store, looking around at the clean area, a sense of pride welling up in their soul. They walked around, admiring the numerous jewels within the dark, eyes bright like eyes of a feral cat. They cut open the glass that securely held the jewels, taking them and safely placing them in the secret swatches of fabric on their clothes, easily disguised from touch and from the naked eye.

Emptying out the necklaces, watches, and bracelets, they exit the shop, re-locking it. Swiftly walking down the street and into the dark alleyway, they hide in the darkest shadow as the police pass the opening of the alleyway. Knowing that the shop had a security alarm that warned the police station instead of the actual shop. Waiting for another minute, they climbed the ladder beside the building and climbed onto the roof. They casually walk on the roof, knowing that the police officers wouldn't dare to look up, as their whole body blended in the darkness. Head to toe covered in black clothing along with a black mask and hoodie covering their face. Suddenly, fireworks explode in the sky, extinguishing the darkness and lighting up the night sky.

"She's on the roof!" you curse the New Year celebrations in your head, hearing a rather young males voice ring out. Without looking back, you zoom across the rooftops, jumping over ledges and jumping through open windows before scaling a roof once more. You kept to the roofs, heading to your next destination. The police were hot on your tail and you turn around for a split second. You knew all the officers from this districts station, but the one that had called you out to be on the roof was young and new. Rather, he was about your age. He was madly fit, his muscles rippling against his tight shirt, a body that any man would kill to earn. He had thick thighs and broad shoulders, muscled arms and a handsome face. His smooth brown bangs barely covered his piercing black eyes, lush pink lips formed into a scowl, just beneath those high cheekbones and above his sharp jawline. You stumble in your step, shocked to ever witness such a man.

Shaking your head, you speed up, the deserted building coming in view. You jump to the next roof and quickly crouch flat to the roof, hearing the voices of the policemen become softer as they continue running, thinking that they are still chasing you. Smirking to yourself, you open the latch on the roof and slide down the ladder, closing the latch after you. Climbing down the ladder, you end up in an attic, opening the latch door on the floor and climbing down the stairs as quietly as possible. You head down the hallway in front of you, coming at a dead end but a large portrait in front of you. You push the portrait to reveal a secret room beyond, entering the dark room and closing the portrait like a door behind you.

"You got what we asked for?"

"Yes. Almost cost me too." you roll your eyes, placing all the stolen jewelry on the table in front of you. The chair behind it was turned around, knowing your boss sat in the chair. A rather large henchman walked towards you from your right, placing a package on the table. You check the contents and count the amount. You furrow your brows, scowling as it was only half the promised amount.

"This isn't the amount we discussed about!" you shout out, banging your fists on the table.

"You were late. Should have followed the scheduled time. Now get out before you get left with nothing." You scowl even more as you got only five grand, half the amount you were supposed to get as it was a special occasion. And a special occasion meant more civilians outside than usual. And more civilians meant a greater risk of being caught. You stomp out of the room, slamming the portrait closed before heading down the hall and out the back door. You open the door and step out into the alleyway, slipping the package with your money in your hoodie pockets. You walked out on the streets, looking for another ladder that leads up to the rooftops. Behind you, you pick up on sounds that seem like feet scuffling on the floor and you realise that the police had found you again.

You turn around and a flashlight is pointed at your face, blinding you. You turn back around and sprint, running faster than you have in your whole life. You take a sharp left turn, cursing when you reach a dead end and no way to climb the roof. There was a dumpster and you hide behind it, thankful for your tiny figure. You see the flashlight pass the alleyway and you let out a breath. You wait for some time before peeking out. Slowly standing up, you creep to the opening of the alleyway and scan the streets which were empty. You turn back around and your back hits the wall, eyes wide from the figure standing in front of you. It was that same handsome man, now trapping you between his arms that were braced on the wall behind you. He sneered down at you, smirking that he had caught you.

"Found you."

"Fuck."

Walking into the station, you were forced down on a seat, you sitting at the edge of the seat as your hands were cuffed behind your back. You stared down at the floor the whole time, trying to pick the locks but realised they were remote controlled. You hadn't looked up once since you got caught, not bothering to answer any questions that were aimed at you. The handsome man sat on his desk in front of you, arms braced on the table behind him as his legs were crossed in front of him. You saw his shoes, nicely polished and you just stare at them, gulping.

"Not talking huh. That wouldn't do you any favours considering the situation you're in." you clench your jaws, a stray lock of hair falling out from of your hoodie. You curse in your head, knowing your hair tie had loosened. "A girl huh. Explains the amount of stolen goods you were able to get." you stare away from the shoes, slouching in your seat, emotionally tired. "Why do you have five grand and where's the jewelry!?" the man throws the package on the floor and you flinch, your body moving as you tried to grab the package but stopped. "This is important to you is it now?" Tears start to well up in your eyes and you try to hold them back, knowing they won't do anything to help you. Just make you pathetic and miserable. "That's it, I'm taking your mask off." the man growls and you look up, shaking your head furiously. You try to back away but he grips your shoulder and tears the hoodie away, your hair falling around your face as the hair tie falls to the floor. You look up and notice the man gulp slightly, but shake his head. His fingers reach the string behind your head and unties it, you instantly bending forward to hide your face. Your hair covers your face like a curtain and the man groans. You close your eyes tight, hoping he wouldn't bend down to see what you look like. "Might as well put you in the cell. See if you start talking in the morning."

"Jungkook." you suddenly hear a deep commanding voice and you instantly recognise this as the commander.

"Yes, commander."

"The cells are full tonight. And I trust you to keep an eye on this one." you feel two pairs of eyes bore into you and you flinch.

Jungkook stares down at the girl sitting in the chair and nods, knowing to obey his commander's orders. The commander leaves and Jungkook goes to his original position on the desk. He stares down at the girl, wondering why she would commit so many crimes. And how she was able to obtain that five grand in the packaging. This was his first major crime case that actually allowed him out on the field. He thought it would be some old crook breaking into stores but he didn't know it was a fast, agile and intelligent girl stealing jewelry He was shocked at her speed and how she was able to jump through windows and scale the brick walls. Jungkook was ecstatic when he caught her in that alleyway and bringing her here at the station, proving his worth. But he wondered why she hasn't spoken yet. As far as crime cases go, young people like her are forced to do these crimes for other people. He wanted to help her if that was the case but her not speaking wouldn't bide well for the girl. Jungkook sighed, rubbing his forehead.

"Let's go." Jungkook stands up, waiting for you to do the same. Jungkook's harsh gaze softened when he noticed the girl try to curl up in a ball. Sighing softly, he bends down to her level but she completely hides her face in her lap. "I can't help you if you don't tell me why you are doing this." Jungkook says softly, the girl shaking her head slowly before slowly stopping as if contemplating what he said. Jungkook softly lifts the girls face and his eyes widen. A single tear rolls down the girls face as he stares at her, figuring out that she was almost his age. Why would someone so young need to be stealing? Jungkook stares at her sunken face, eyelids drooping and her slouched figure as she was emotionally tired. He frowns at her state, wondering if she was eating well. The girl sighs and looks away, not wanting to see the pity in Jungkook's eyes. He stands up once again and the girl slowly follows. Jungkook walks behind the girl, one hand gripped on her cuffed hands, the other on her shoulder. He leads her to his car, unlocking it and un-cuffs her. Jungkook watches as she frees her hands, looking down at the fallen cuffs on the floor before staring up at him. Jungkook purses his lips as the girl looks around the street, almost as if looking for a way out. The girl picks up the cuffs and hands it back to Jungkook, him being shocked not only from how cold her hands were, but also that she didn't take this chance he purposely gave her as a test to see if she would run away.

"No more. I'm done." the girl whispers as she gets in the back of the car, Jungkook worried from hearing the girls strained and tired voice, almost as if it weighed much more than her crimes. Jungkook gets in the driver's seat and starts the engine. As he put his seatbelt on, he checks the rearview mirror and he doesn't see the girl. He growls, angry that she would trick him and run away before turning around and stopping short. He saw the girl laying down on the seat with her back facing Jungkook, curled up. Jungkook slowly turns around and drives home.

You had enough of running around and doing people's dirty work, all for a meager wage. You had enough deceiving people, stealing from them and ruining their hard work. Being poor doesn't leave you a lot of options, especially when surviving out in the world. With no family or friends, you had to support yourself somehow. You despise humanity, didn't give two shits when you stole. You just had to support yourself. People would hire you and you would complete their requests. It was all for the money, but just enough to last you till you had gotten your education and a job along with a home. Every man for themselves being your motive and logic. Stealing was the only way as you had the speed and the agility, also the street smarts. But that was after you had given up on a normal lifestyle, in having at least a financially stable and happy life.

You were getting more and more tired every day, feeling of giving up altogether. You wondered why you were alive in the first place if you had to live like this. Wishing you were born into a different life. You hated yourself for all the horrible things you did, hated your very being. You hated everything about you. And that's when the self-harm had started. You bottled up all your emotions for God knows how long, knowing that you would burst one day. You haven't cried since your first crime, haven't smiled or laugh, always angry and hateful. Having to be doing terrible things from an extremely young age took a toll on your mind, scaring it and your consciousness. You had given up completely, the marks on either side of your arms being witnesses. As you stayed curled up in the back seat of Jungkook's car, you had enough. You decided to end everything tonight. Once it was past midnight and it was the new year and your birthday, you decided to end it all.
