Toxic~ J.JK
Jungkook sat in the courtroom, his eyes fixed on the judge as the words hung in the air. "Divorce granted. Custody of the minor child, Soo-jin, is awarded to the mother, Luna "
Jungkook felt like he had been punched in the gut. He couldn't breathe. He loved his daughter more than anything in the world, and now she was being taken away from him.
Y/n tried to hold his hand but he pushed her hand away.
He stood up, his legs shaking, and made his way out of the courtroom. He couldn't bear to look at his ex wife, couldn't bear to see the triumph in her eyes.
As he walked home, the tears streamed down his face. He felt like a part of him was dying. He had never felt such a deep sadness before.
When he arrived at his empty apartment, he collapsed onto the couch, burying his face in a pillow.
He thought about all the memories he would miss, all the milestones he wouldn't be there for. Soo-jin's first day of school, her first heartbreak, her graduation.
Jungkook's heart ached as he realized that he would no longer be a part of his daughter's daily life. He felt like he was losing a part of himself.
Jungkook sat on the couch, his eyes fixed on the wallpaper as if it held the answers to his deepest sorrows. His mind was a thousand miles away, still reeling from the court's decision.
Y/n walked into the room, her footsteps quiet on the floor. She approached Jungkook cautiously, sensing his distress. She was in her nightdress.
Without a word, she climbed onto his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck. She pulled him into a warm embrace, holding him close.
Jungkook didn't react at first, but as Y/n's warmth seeped into his skin, he felt a crack in his armor. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight.
"I'm here for you," Y/n whispered, her voice soft and soothing. "I'm not going anywhere."
Jungkook's eyes closed, and he let out a shaky breath. "I love you," he whispered back, his voice barely audible.
Y/n's grip tightened, and she buried her face in his neck. "I love you too," she replied, her voice muffled.
She cupped his face, he looked at her. “Do you regret your decision to be with me?” She asked.
He shook his head. “No, I just regret not being a good father, I shouldn't have cheated.”
“You were and still are a good father. If you hadn't you would never be together.” she mumbled and kissed his lips.
He breaks the kiss. “We could, I should have gotten a divorce first.”
“Is it my fault? Why are you pushing me away? In court you didn't let me hold your hand and now too.” She said,
“I am not pushing you away. I am just not in the mood.”
She got off his lap. “Understood.”
“Where are you going?” he held her hand as she was trying to leave.
“You are not in the mood to see me.” She replied.
“Now when did I say that?” He asked.
“You just did,” She said while pushing his hand away. He pulled her back on his lap.
He holds her chin making her look at his face. “Baby, I am so glad you are with me right now.”
He kissed her lips. She runs her finger through his hair. She is glad too. She never imagined actually being with him, but here she was.
Finally in his arms, after so much lying, manipulation, betraying.
She is not sure about his guilt, but her guilt was hitting her hard now. Because she knew the truth yet still decided to lie to him and manipulate him instead.
___
Flashback,
Y/n smiled as she looked at the little girl who was playing with her picture book. “Good morning, Soojin.”
“Morning!” The 2 year old replied happily she can't speak properly yet but she says some words. Y/n smiled at her.
Y/n stood as she watched Jeon Luna's entered, admiring her boss's flawless appearance. Every morning was the same. Luna looked effortlessly stunning, as if she had just stepped out of a fashion magazine.
"Good morning, Ma’am," Y/n said, handing her the steaming cup of coffee from Luna's favorite café.
Y/n is her personal assistant. She never thought she would get this job, Y/n doesn't talk much. She finds it hard to talk to other people or impress them. That is why she always lacks at social gatherings. But
Luna specifically liked that about Y/n. Because she is not nosy and minds her. She is mostly silent and doesn't gossip about others.
Luna smiled warmly. "Thank you, Y/n. You're a lifesaver." Every morning Y/n have to come to give her coffee at her house. Because mostly Luna works from home and goes to the office 2-3 times a week.
Just then, Luna's husband, Jungkook, walked into the room. He was the epitome of a perfect husband - charming, handsome, and loving. Y/n couldn't help but feel a pang of admiration.
How could she not when he looks and acts so perfectly?
Jungkook first kissed their 2-year-old daughter, Soojin, on the forehead before turning to Luna. "Good morning, beautiful," he said, kissing her cheek.
Luna's eyes sparkled as she smiled at her husband. "Good morning."
Y/n felt a flutter in her chest. She had seen this scene unfold every morning for months now, but she couldn't get over how perfect Luna's life seemed. The loving husband, the adorable child, the successful career…
Meanwhile Y/n, on the other hand, was still figuring out her own life, with no love interest.
"Shall we head to the office?" Luna asked, breaking the spell.
Y/n nodded, following Luna. Y/n tripped over one of Soojin's toys but Jungkook held her before she fell down. It's the first time she ever even came this close to him.
“Careful. You should not wear heels.” He said.
“Ma’am don't like when I wear flat shoes.” Y/n replied. As Y/n stays close with Luna, she decides what Y/n can and can't wear.
He smiled. “Heels look pretty but you should also think about your feet. You walk around all day while Luna just sits and orders around.”
She nodded her head and thanked him before leaving the house. Luna was around sitting in the car. Y/n sit on the passenger seat, Luna was sitting on the back.
“What was he saying?” Luna asked.
“Nothing, just told me to not wear heels.” Y/n replied.
“Must be hard for him to resist. Heels make your legs look prettier and long. And he prefers tall girls. You are so much of his type.” She said, but her tone was not showing jealousy.
“I think you have mistaken-”
“Did you make the slides for today's meeting?” Luna quickly changed the topic.
“Of course, and the watch you asked for is here.” Y/n said and gave Luna a box. She took it and smiled as she looked at the Rolex watch.
“He will love this. You did amazing, Y/n.” She said, Y/n smiled.
___
Working with Luna certainly had its perks – not only did Y/n get to work with a brilliant and stylish boss, but she also got to enjoy the benefits of Luna's luxurious lifestyle.
Y/n settled into the plush salon chair, surrounded by the soothing ambiance of the high-end nail salon. Her boss, Luna, sat beside her.
As they sipped champagne and enjoyed the pampering, Luna's phone buzzed. She smiled apologetically at Y/n before answering.
"Baby, I'm getting my nails done in your favorite color," Luna cooed into the phone, her voice dripping with sweetness.
Y/n couldn't help but feel a warmth in her chest at the tender exchange. She had grown accustomed to Luna's constant phone calls with her husband, Jungkook. Because who else would save the caller id name as ‘Yeobo?’
Y/n finds it really cute and it still makes her smile.
Luna listened for a moment before responding, "Okay, my love. I'll see you tonight. Love you."
As Luna hung up, Y/n turned to her with a grin. "You two are so adorable," she said, feeling a little envious of their love.
Luna beamed, her eyes sparkling. "I feel so lucky to have him.”
After the salon, Luna had to go to another meeting. Y/n was with her as she watched Luna greet a man. Y/n knows him, he is one of Luna's business partners. Y/n noticed the watch on his wrist. It's the same that Luna bought as a gift.
__
Y/n sat in the passenger seat, engrossed in her tablet as the driver drove the car. Luna was on the phone, her voice low and husky.
"I'm so tired, baby. I just want to see you," Luna said, her words dripping with longing.
Y/n smiled to herself, used to Luna's romantic conversations with her husband, Jungkook.
"I'm coming to meet you," Luna said, ending the call.
As they stopped at a building, Y/n stared at the building, it wasn't Jungkook's company. But he might be here to do some work?
The car door opened and a man slid into the backseat. Y/n didn't look up, not wanting to intrude on Luna's private moment.
But as the man kissed Luna's Lip, Y/n caught a glimpse of him in the rearview mirror. Her heart skipped a beat - it wasn't Jungkook.
"I missed you," the man said, his voice low and smooth.
Y/n's eyes widened as she realized who it was - Tae-hyung, Luna's business partner. She had seen him before, and remembered the distinctive watch he wore.
Y/n's mind raced with questions. What was going on? Why was Tae-hyung in the car? Why did he kiss her?
As the car started moving again, Y/n kept her eyes fixed on the tablet, her heart pounding with surprise and disbelief.
Luna was cheating, but how could she cheat on a man like Jungkook?
___
Y/n walked into Luna's house, acting like nothing happened. Luna greeted her warmly, and they chatted about the day's schedule.
Luna was normal to Jungkook too. Y/n felt bad for Jungkook. He is truly perfect. And doesn't deserve to get betrayed.
Once Luna retreated to her office, Y/n followed, closing the door behind her.
"I must say, I'm impressed," Luna said, leaning back in her chair. "You didn't bat an eyelash when you saw Tae-hyung in the car."
Y/n shrugged. "It's your personal life. I didn't want to make it awkward."
She just doesn't know how to react. What was she supposed to do? Run to her husband and tell him? Luna can destroy Y/n’s career for that.
Luna's eyes narrowed. "You think it's wrong, don't you?"
Y/n hesitated before nodding. It's really wrong, it's awful and disgusting. "Yes, but it's not my place to judge."
Luna sighed, steepling her fingers. "I want to divorce Jungkook."
Y/n's expression remained neutral. "I'll get the documents ready."
That's the right thing to do. But Luna's laugh was bitter. "It's not that easy. Jungkook...he's not going to let me go without a fight."
Y/n raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
Luna's eyes clouded, and for a moment, Y/n saw a glimmer of vulnerability beneath her polished facade.
"Jungkook has...leverage. Things that could ruin my reputation, my business. We got married for mutual benefits in business. Now I can't ruin everything that I spent the last 5 years on.” Luna said.
Y/n stared at Luna’s face, she is a clever woman and Y/n wonders what is going on in her head.
Luna's voice dropped to a whisper. "Also, I don't want Jungkook to get custody of Soojin. I don't want to be painted as the villain, the bad mother who cheated on her husband."
Y/n's eyes widened as Luna's plan became clear.
"I want Jungkook to be guilty of cheating," Luna said, her eyes glinting with determination. "And I think you can help me with that, Y/n."
Y/n's mind reeled as Luna's gaze locked onto hers.
"Do you want to be with Jungkook?" Luna asked, her voice low and husky.
Y/n shook her head, taken aback. "No,
I don't think that's a good idea."
“Come on, I saw the way you look at Jungkook. I have never seen you look at any other man like that.” Luna said.
“No, it's just he is a good husband and a nice guy.” Y/n replied.
“It's true, he is a nice guy and a good husband.” Luna's smile was sly. "You're really attractive, Y/n. Jungkook's type. If you're able to seduce him...I'll make sure you're well rewarded."
Y/n felt a shiver run down her spine as Luna's words hung in the air. She couldn't believe what Luna was asking her to do.
"Luna, I don't think I'm comfortable with this," Y/n said, trying to keep her voice steady.
Luna's expression turned cold. "I'm not asking you, Y/n. I'm telling you. This is what needs to happen if I want to protect Soojin and my reputation.”
___
Y/n fidgeted with her hands, feeling awkward as Luna briefed her on the plan.
"I don't know, Luna. I'm not exactly...smooth when it comes to dating," Y/n admitted, her cheeks flushing.
Luna waved her hand dismissively. "Don't worry, Y/n. You'll be fine. Just be yourself...or, at least, the version of yourself that Jungkook will find irresistible."
Y/n raised an eyebrow. "And what makes you so sure I can do this?"
Luna's smile was confident. "I've seen the way Jungkook looks at you, Y/n. He's interested. And with a little guidance from me...I'm sure you'll be able to seal the deal."
She doesn't feel like Jungkook is interested, he behaves normally. He is nice but that doesn't mean he likes her.
Y/n wasn't convinced, but a part of her wanted to believe Luna.
Maybe it was the promise of being with Jungkook, or maybe it was just the thrill of doing something reckless. Whatever the reason, Y/n found herself nodding along with Luna's plan.
"Okay, fine. I'll do it," Y/n said, feeling a sense of trepidation.
Luna's grin was triumphant. "I knew I could count on you, Y/n. Now, let's get started. We have a lot of work to do if we're going to make Jungkook fall for you…”
__
Y/n stepped off the plane, her heart racing with nerves. She couldn't believe Luna had sent her on this trip with Jungkook instead.
As she made her way to the hotel, she spotted Jungkook waiting in the lobby. He looked up, surprised, and Y/n felt a flutter in her chest.
"Luna couldn't make it," Y/n explained, trying to sound casual.
Jungkook's expression softened. "Oh, okay. I will call her.” That's all he said before leaving.
The trip was business related and Y/n came except for Luna. But she stuck around Jungkook as she was told.
As they spent the day together, Y/n found herself feeling more and more at ease around Jungkook. They laughed and joked, and Y/n was surprised by how much they had in common.
But despite their growing connection, Jungkook's mind kept wandering back to his daughter, Soojin. He showed Y/n pictures and videos, telling her stories about Soojin's latest antics.
Y/n's heart melted at the sight of Jungkook's devotion to his daughter. She could see the love shining in his eyes, and it only made her feel more drawn to him.
He might not love Luna, but he loves his daughter so much.
Jungkook turned to Y/n with a smile. “Sorry, I really can't stop talking about Soojin, she is growing up so quickly and everyday is so special.”
Y/n smiled back, feeling a sense of warmth towards him. "Anytime, Mr. Jeon. She's adorable.”
“I love her, she changed my life. What about you? Are you dating someone? Or do you want kids in the future?” He asked.
“No, I am not dating anyone. I don't exactly like the idea of having kids. I have seen my siblings' kids. Now I don't want any kids.” She said, “My nieces and nephews are literally like little devils. Always causing problems.”
“But that's cute and fun right?” He said. She shook her head. She doesn't look convinced. She really hates the idea of having her own kids. “And why don't you have a boyfriend?”
“I don't know, too much effort. I can't deal with that.” Y/n replied. This is not how Luna told her to reply but Y/n said what she personally feels. Dating and relationships are time consuming and we need to put constant effort in a relationship. “I would like it if someone puts effort in me.”
“So you want to get loved and spoiled by the other person.” He said. She shrugged her shoulders.
“Who doesn't want that? It's nice to get loved right. Especially when I myself find it harder to show affection. I want to get loved and be comfortable enough to show affection.” she replied. “What's your thoughts?”
“l wanted love too, but after having Soojin, things changed.” He replied.
“You wanted love? What does that mean? Do you not want love now?” She asked.
“It's too late for that.” He replied.
“It's never too late.” She replied, Jungkook was not expecting her to lean closer and kiss his lips.
___
Jungkook stood in front of the bathroom mirror, his fingers tracing the curve of his lips. He couldn't believe it. He had finally kissed Y/n.
Memories flooded his mind, taking him back to their summer school days. He had been 19, and Y/n...unreachable.
She would wander around, lost in her own world, never noticing him. He had tried to approach her, to get her attention, but she would just smile politely and drift away.
Years had passed, and Jungkook had convinced himself that he was over it. That he had moved on.
And then, she reappeared in his life, not even recognizing him. It had stung, but he had tried to brush it off.
She was just Luna’s assistant yet she would still come home everyday.
But now...now, after all these years, he had finally kissed her. And it felt like the universe had aligned in his favor.
Jungkook's eyes locked onto his reflection. This was what he had wanted, all those years ago. This was what he had dreamed of.
Luna knew about Y/n, and she purposely made Y/n reappear in Jungkook's life. Not only that, she made sure Jungkook had to see Y/n everyday and in some way he would love her again.
___
Jungkook returned back earlier. Things are different now, he needs to think about his family first, and his child first. So he decided to distance himself from Y/n.
Luna's eyes narrowed as Y/n walked into the room. "So, what happened?" she asked, her voice firm.
Y/n took a deep breath before answering. "I kissed him."
Luna's expression changed from curiosity to surprise. "And?"
Y/n shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes. "I messed up. I shouldn't have done it. I am so stupid, I always mess things up, he must hate me now.”
Luna smiled and shook her head. “No, he can't ever hate you. Just do what I said.
__
Luna told Y/n to go meet Jungkook and apologize to him and tell him that she will leave his life. Y/n did so.
"I'm so sorry," Y/n said, her voice cracking. "I was wrong to kiss you. I'll leave you alone, I promise."
“Why are you here?” He asked. Staring at her face. Jungkook's expression faltered as Y/n broke down in tears.
"I shouldn't have fallen in love with you," she sobbed. “I don't know how this even happened, but I am just here to apologize to you, I am sorry. I will leave but please forgive me. I don't know why I even did that, I feel so bad about myself.”
Jungkook's heart twisted at the sight of Y/n crying. He couldn't bear it. "Y/n, stop," he said, pulling her into his arms.
She continues crying. She loves him? That's why she is crying.
"I love you," he whispered, his lips brushing against hers.
Y/n's tears slowed as Jungkook's words sank in. She looked up at him, hope flickering in her eyes.
Jungkook smiled, his heart full. "I love you too," he said, before deepening the kiss.
___
Jungkook stepped into the house, his mind made up. He would divorce Luna, no matter the consequences. He had promised Y/n he would settle things before pursuing their relationship further.
But before he could even take a breath, Luna confronted him, her eyes blazing.
"You cheated on me!" she spat, her voice echoing through the hallway.
Jungkook's eyes widened in surprise. How did she find out so quickly? He hadn't even had a chance to figure things out with Y/n.
"Luna, calm down," Jungkook tried to reason, but she cut him off.
"Don't even try to deny it! I know all about your little affair," Luna hissed, her face twisted in anger.
Jungkook's eyes narrowed. "How did you...?"
Luna's laugh was cold. "You think you're discreet? The news is already talking about it. You're a laughingstock, Jungkook."
He glanced at the TV, and his heart sank. Breaking news flashed on the screen: "Jungkook's Secret Affair: Marriage on the Rocks?"
Luna stormed past him, dragging suitcases behind her. "I'm leaving. You've made your choice, now deal with it."
The door slammed shut, leaving Jungkook stunned and reeling. How had everything fallen apart so quickly?
Jungkook's phone rang, shrill in the silence. He answered, and Y/n's sobbing filled his ear.
Jungkook's heart ached at the sound of her tears. "Y/n, stop crying. I'm coming to you. We'll figure this out together."
"Okay," Y/n sniffled, her sobs slowing.
"I'll be there soon," Jungkook promised, already heading out the door.
As he drove to Y/n's place, his mind raced with questions. Who could have leaked the news? And why now, when things were already complicated enough?
He arrived at Y/n's apartment, and she flung herself into his arms, tears streaming down her face.
"I'm so sorry, Jungkook. I feel like this is all my fault," Y/n sobbed.
Jungkook held her close, stroking her hair. "It's not your fault, Y/n.”
“But it is.” She said,
“No,” he cupped her face. “You and Soojin are the most important people to me. I don't care about anyone else.”
Jungkook wasn't worried about anything except Y/n now.
Y/n never experience this, she has never manipulated someone like this and become the center of their attention. But it feels so good to have him act the way she wants. And have him all by herself.
