Old Friends~ K.TH Ft. J.JK Pt.2

Flashback,

Y/n who was 6 years old, scrunched up her face, staring at the meager meal in front of her. "This is gross, I don't want to eat it," she whined, pushing the plate away. "We eat this everyday."

Jungkook, her older brother, sighed patiently. "What do you want to eat, then?"

Y/n's eyes lit up, and she began to rattle off a list of her favorite foods. "I want pizza, ice cream, and fried chicken, and... and... "

As Y/n's list grew longer, Jungkook's gaze never left hers. He was making a silent promise to himself - to ensure she got everything she wanted, no matter what it took.

Right now both are stuck in this small room which is at the basement of a red zone in. It was cluttered by furniture and hand-me-downs.

Their mother, a prostitute, was rarely present, and when she was, she was often sleeping off the previous night's excesses. Jungkook had taken on a caretaker role, always looking out for his little sister.

"I want to go to the park, and play on the swings, and ride a bike, and..."

While she was talking, she didn't even realize and eat the porridge that he was feeding her.

As she spoke, her expression turned wistful. "And I want a father, like my friend Emily has. She has a daddy who plays with her and takes her to the zoo. I want that too."

Jungkook's heart ached, seeing the longing in his little sister's eyes. He knew their mother's lifestyle made it impossible for them to have a traditional family.

As Y/n continued to dream aloud, Jungkook's determination solidified. He would do whatever it took to give her the life she deserved - a life filled with laughter, love, and endless possibilities.

After he was done he wiped her face. "Are you full now?"

She nodded her head. "What about you?"

"I already ate." He lied, their mother forgot to buy the groceries or food. So there was not anything for him.

A knock on the window broke the silence. Jungkook's eyes narrowed, but they knew who it could be climbing up the window at this time. It was Taehyung, he grew up with them.

Taehyung's family owned the red zone club, and he lived a life of relative luxury compared to Jungkook and Y/n. Can it really be a luxury to live with such people while they are children?

"Hey, guys!" Taehyung said, flashing a charming smile. "I brought a present for Y/n."

Y/n's eyes widened as Taehyung handed her a chocolate bar. She gasped, her face lighting up. "Chocolate! I haven't had this in ages!"

Jungkook's expression softened, seeing his sister's joy. He wants to make her happy too. But then Y/n's gaze turned to look at Taehyung's face. "I don't like them."

"What? You just said you haven't had it for ages." Taehyung replied.

She really wants to eat chocolate, but she knows that Jungkook will make him sad, even when he doesn't say it.

"No, I am full. I just ate." She replied with a smile.

"Still keep it." He placed it on the table. Later Mina, Taehyung's sister, joined them too.

Taehyung is 13 and Jungkook is a little older, he is 17. Around the same age as Taehyung's sister.

Mina stays in her room mostly like Y/n and it's always Taehyung and Jungkook with whom she goes out with.

"I want to go outside, I need to feel the sun on my face!"

Y/n's gaze met Mina's, and she nodded fervently. "I want to go too! I want to see the world! I didn't go out for days!"

She really hasn't, she stays in the room, she doesn't even go to school. She can't even step out of the room as it can get dangerous for her to step out in such a place.

Jungkook hesitated, his protective instincts, "No, no you can't go out.'

But Mina's words struck a chord. "It's not fair to lock her here, Jungkook. She deserves to experience life."

Taehyung nodded in agreement. "We can take her outside, but we need to be careful. My father's rules are strict."

It's not, he just told them that if their kid gets out and some client does something to them aka SA or something, he is not responsible.

"Please," Y/n pouted. He stared at her face, he went out but she didn't. She stays home all the time, wouldn't it be better if she goes out and gets some sunlight like a normal person?

Jungkook rummaged through his closet, taking a large hoodie and pants. "Put these on, Y/n. Cover yourself completely."

Y/n's eyes sparkled as she donned the oversized clothes, her small frame swallowed by the fabric. Jungkook gently tied a scarf around her face, masking her features.

They always need to hide Y/n like this to bring her outside.

"Ready?" Taehyung asked, his eyes locked on Y/n's muffled form.

Jungkook nodded, his grip on Y/n's hand tightening. "Let's do this."
__

Y/n's laughter echoed through the playground as she chased Taehyung around the swings. Her eyes shone with pure joy, her face flushed with excitement.

Meanwhile, Mina and Jungkook sat on a bench in the corner, their faces somber. Mina lit a cigarette, taking a long drag as they talked in hushed tones.

"I don't like doing this, Mina," Jungkook said, his voice laced with frustration. "Helping those dealers sell their drugs... it's not right."

Mina exhaled a stream of smoke, her eyes clouding. "I know, but it's all we can do to earn some money. And for me... it's necessary."

Jungkook raised an eyebrow. "Why do you need this, Mina? Your father owns this place."

Mina's gaze dropped, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm hiding, Jungkook. I dress like a man, act like a man, because if I don't... I'll be sold like the other women here. Maybe to a higher amount but still. My father may own this place, but that doesn't mean I'm safe."

Jungkook's expression softened, "I didn't know, Mina. I'm sorry."

Mina's eyes flicked up, her gaze intense. "Don't be sorry, Jungkook."
__

Y/n huddled under the blankets, her eyes scanning the dark room. She was alone, again.

She is alone most of the night, but she keeps the lights one but tonight there was some problem and the electricity got cut.

She tried to distract herself, but everything was giving her chills, she couldn't open the room either.

Jungkook was out, trying to make money on the risky streets, while their mother was... well, who knew what she was doing?

But then, a faint light appeared in the window. Taehyung slipped inside, a few candles clutched in his hand. He lit them one by one, casting a warm, golden glow over the room.

Y/n's fear began to disappear as Taehyung sat beside her, "Hey, I heard it was dark here."

"It is so scary! I am glad you are here." She said, He smiled and held her hand.

"Let's make this darkness fun," he whispered.

"We will pretend that we purposely turn off the lights and we'll tell each other stories."

Together, they told stories, their voices weaving in and out of the shadows. Taehyung made her laugh, but the silly made up stories; he was the one person who always seemed to be there for her.

She laughed and then she placed her head on the table. She softly touched the candle. "Hey, you will burn your finger." Taehyung stopped her.

"It will not burn." She replied. "Is marriage a fairy tale too?"

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"Like the princess, you told me how they end up getting married in the end, and live happily ever after. You said mermaids, fairies, dragons etc are not real, is marriage and a happy ending real?" She asked.

She hasn't seen marriage in real life. She thinks it's a fairy tale too, and doesn't exist in real life.

"It is real, marriage is real. Love is real too." Taehyung replied. Growing up in such places does make them grow up mentally a little quicker.

"I know love is real. I love you." She replied. He was surprised. "I love you a little less than oppa, but still I love you enough that I had a happy ending and marriage with you."

"You want to marry me?" Taehyung chuckled and crossed his arms.

She nodded her head. "Yes, you care about me, you are sweet, you look okay too."

Taehyung laughed. "That's all?"

"Yes, we will have children too, but you can't run away. I heard marriage is a forever promise, so you can break a forever promise." She said,

He pulled her closer to him and hugged her, "It is already my forever promise to always love you."

Then they both lay down, they talked a little before they fell asleep.
__

Y/n's body wracked with coughs and sneezes, her eyes streaming with tears. Her allergic rhinitis was acting up again, and the air was thick with the sweet scent of cheap perfume.

Their mother, oblivious to Y/n's distress, spritzed herself with even more fragrance.

Jungkook's face twisted in frustration. "Mother, please! She's allergic! At least use it outside."

But their mother just rolled her eyes. "Oh, stop being so dramatic, Jungkook. She won't die from a little perfume."

Y/n continue to sneeze, "This drama queen,"

As she raised her hand to slap Y/n, Jungkook intervened, catching her wrist. "Don't touch her!"

Their mother's anger turned on Jungkook, and she slapped him instead. "You're always so quick to defend her, but what about me? What about my needs? I asked you to get me stuff, but you jerk get stuff for other people only!"

Jungkook hates this, he knows his mother does drugs and she spends the little money she earns on that, yet still Jungkook helps the drug dealers. And does little work for them.

Before their mother storming out. .

As the door slammed shut, Y/n's coughs and sneezes subsided, replaced by tears of sadness. Jungkook's eyes met hers.

Jungkook stood at the pharmacy counter, staring at the price tag on Y/n's allergy medicine. His heart sank.

He could either buy the medicine or a week's worth of groceries. He couldn't afford both.

With a heavy heart, he decided to leave the medicine behind. He knew Y/n's suffering would worsen, but he had to prioritize their survival.

As they sat at the bus station, Y/n's condition deteriorated. Her head throbbed, her nose ran uncontrollably, and her eyes watered nonstop, they were burning so badly. She could feel the allergy creeping down her throat, making every breath a chore.

He had to bring her outside as he couldn't keep her in the room, he needs to wait for the scent to leave the room.

The sneezing fits were the worst - 10, 15 times every 30 minutes. Jungkook watched helplessly as Y/n's small body shook with each explosive sneeze. Her eyes and face were swollen.

He knows that it might not be life threatening but seeing her being uncomfortable like this was painful.

Without thinking, he pulled her onto his lap, wrapping his arms tightly around her. He hugged her close, trying to absorb some of her pain.

"I'm sorry, Y/n," he whispered, his voice cracking. "I'm so sorry I couldn't get your medicine."

Y/n's sneezes subsided for a moment, and she looked up at Jungkook with watery eyes. "It's okay, hyung," she whispered back. "I'll be okay in a few hours."

Jungkook's grip tightened, his heart aching with love and frustration.

"Should we go home?" He asked after a few hours. He pulled her mask up. He made her wear the headphones, and put the hoodie cap over her head before he lifted her up.

They could hear all types of noises when they entered their area. So he tries to protect her innocence.

But it's really hard, when people are literally making out, blowing out each other in the middle of the road.

She gets a peak of two people kissing, and then she sees a person kneel down. Jungkook pulled down the hoodie cup covering up her eyes.
__

Rain pounded against the windows, Y/n sat alone, her eyes welling up with tears. That's when Taehyung appeared, his presence a warm comfort.

As they talked, Y/n's gaze locked onto Taehyung's, her voice barely above a whisper. "I want to do something for you, Taehyung. I want to make you happy."

She leaned in, her lips inches from his, but Taehyung gently stopped her. "Y/n, what are you doing?"

Her eyes dropped, and she whispered, "I saw someone do it another day. The man looked happy, and I want to make you happy too. You promised to always be there for me, so I want to do this for you."

Taehyung's expression turned shocked. "Who's been teaching you this? You're too young to know about such things!"

Y/n's face scrunched up in determination. "I saw it, and I want to make you happy. Do you want me to kneel down like that woman and please you?"

Taehyung cupped her face, "Y/n, listen to me. You don't need to do any of this. We're still kids, and this is not what love is about. I love you, and you don't have to do anything to make me happy. Just being with you makes me happy."

Taehyung has seen it all, he has seen what adult men do for pleasure, and he hates that. Women are in pain, and he would never use her for his pleasure and give her pain in return.

"But Taehyung, you can help me when you feel scared too. Okay?" She said, and he couldn't help but smile.

The lights got turned off and the electricity got cut. "Oh,"

"I didn't bring the candles today." Taehyung said.

"It's fine I am not scared today." She replied as she held his hand tightly. Taehyung will not leave her right? She wishes by some means Taehyung could be her friend only. No one else's friend, only hers.

It was raining outside and Jungkook knew that she was afraid of rain, and he came home earlier than he usually would.

Jungkook entered the darkened room while holding a torch in his hand. He was surprised to see Taehyung and Y/n huddled together. His instincts flared, and he growled, "What is going on here?"

Taehyung stood up, hands raised calmingly. "It's not safe for her to be alone, especially with the electricity off."

"I am happy that it comes, or else it gets really scary." Y/n replied. Jungkook is doubtful as at the end of the day Taehyung is a man. Both are younger than him, but it's better to be careful. If she is scared at night, he would stay home.

Jungkook looked up at the light. Jungkook's glare softened slightly, but his voice remained firm. "I need to fix it. Now."

Taehyung nodded, and together they headed to the fuse box. Y/n tagged along, curiosity getting the better of her. As they worked, she wandered off, exploring the dimly lit corridors.

Suddenly, she stumbled upon a scene she shouldn't have seen - a couple engaged in a compromising position. The screams and moans were straight out of a horror movie and the woman, her condition was indescribable.

Taehyung quickly covered her eyes, his voice urgent. "Y/n, go to your room. Now."

Y/n's eyes widened, but she didn't resist as Taehyung guided her away from the scene.

She didn't say anything, she just got quiet for some days after that.

"Hey, are you okay? Something is bothering you." Jungkook asked softly. As he couldn't get her attention even when he tried to make her happy by her favorite food.

"I don't want to do that. I don't want to be like that woman." She said,

Jungkook was puzzled, "What do you mean?"

"That day, I asked mom why the man was hurting the woman and no one was stopping. She said that's what she does too to get money and that's what I have to do in future too."

Jungkook clenched his fists, how dare she say that to her?

"You will not, I promise. You don't have to." He said. He will not let her stay here forever.

"Does it make man happy? Are you going to hurt someone in future too?" She asked.

"No, it doesn't. It only makes sick men happy." He replied. Sex grosses him out, he has seen too much that now he is grossed out by it and doesn't want to ever do it.

Now Jungkook's mind was running fast, he needs to get out of here. He needs to find a place where every time Y/n steps out she doesn't get traumatized.

"How about we change what you see that day? Okay, so let's imagine that when you went there, you saw a magical door. And inside the door,"

Our mind doesn't know the difference between reality and imagination, so he was making her feel better but making her imagine someone else, so she forgets the reality.
_

Jungkook was outside doing his little side hustle.

Suddenly, footsteps approached, and Jungkook looked up to see Taehyung hurrying toward him, a look of urgency in his eyes.

"Jungkook," Taehyung called out, his voice strained, "Y/n's in trouble."

Jungkook's heart skipped a beat as he straightened up, "What happened? Where is she?" he asked, his voice laced with concern.

"She's inside... your room. Your mother..." Taehyung hesitated, glancing nervously at Jungkook before continuing. "She's trying to take Y/n to a client."

Jungkook's blood ran cold. Without another word, he pushed past Taehyung and sprinted toward his room.

The fear and anger bubbling up inside him fueled his steps as he rushed down the hallway.

He reached the door and threw it open, his eyes immediately locking onto the scene before him.

His mother was gripping Y/n's arm, trying to drag her toward the door. Y/n's face was pale, her eyes wide with fear, as she struggled against the woman's grip.

Jungkook's mother's expression was determined, almost ruthless, as she attempted to force Y/n out of the room.

"No!" Jungkook's voice thundered through the room as he stepped inside, his heart pounding with rage. "Let her go!"

His mother froze, her eyes narrowing as she turned to face her son. "Jungkook, don't be foolish," she said, her voice cold and sharp. "The client will pay extra for a blow job from her. You can't let this opportunity go."

Jungkook's fists clenched at his sides, his vision blurring with anger. "I said let her go!" he repeated, his voice trembling with fury. "What are you doing! She is too young to do all this!?"

His mother didn't budge, her grip on Y/n tightening as she spoke again. "This isn't a game, Jungkook. We need the money. She's just-"

Before she could finish, Jungkook's anger boiled over. He moved without thinking, his fist connecting with his mother's face in a flash of raw emotion.

The impact echoed in the small room as she stumbled back, releasing Y/n in the process.

Taehyung hugged Y/n tightly, to comfort her and protect her.

His mother looked up at him in shock, holding her face where he had struck her. "You dare to hit your mother?! Bitch I raised you in such a place with so much struggle! And yet you don't even let me make some money out of you."

Jungkook really had enough, he took out the cash that he had been earning while trying to run away from this place and threw it at her. "Here is the money, now You'll never touch her again," Jungkook spat, his voice low and dangerous. "Get out."

His mother hesitated for a moment, her eyes narrowing in anger. Without a word, she turned and left the room, slamming the door behind her.

As the door closed, Jungkook finally let out a shaky breath, turning to Y/n.

Jungkook crossed the room in two quick strides, pulling her into his arms. "I'm so sorry," he whispered, his voice soft now, filled with regret and guilt. "I won't let anyone hurt you."

Y/n buried her face in his chest, her body trembling slightly as she held onto him tightly.

Their mother had crossed a line tonight, but he knew one thing for sure-he would do anything to protect her, no matter the cost.
__

Taehyung's eyes drooped, his voice barely above a whisper. "Jungkook, Mina's not doing well."

Mina's worry was right, her father did ssll her, and after that it had been really traumatizing for all of them.

Jungkook's expression turned grim, his mind racing to his friend Mina. He had seen her recently, and the pain in her eyes still haunted him.

He visited her, and her condition. "I should have ran away, and now I am stuck in this unbreakable cycle." She exclaimed.

She really should have, Jungkook thought that she will get privilege as his father owns this place but he just sold her body to the cruelest person on her first time.

Her face had bruises, her neck, arms. It made him wonder how many more bruises she must have under her clothes. Taehyung has told him that she has been just sitting here and was not even moving.

"I lost myself, Jungkook... to this system, this society... I don't know who I am anymore." Jungkook's heart ached, feeling helpless as he saw Mina's tears.

Taehyung was with Y/n, Taehyung's room may be bigger, but it feels suffocating. Only Y/n brings him escape from this darkness. He promised her he will do better, give her a better life.

Jungkook came back, but his mind still had Mina in his head.

He wanted to save her, to save them all, but the pain seemed too deep, too entrenched.

Taehyung's voice brought him back. "I want to get out of here, Jungkook. Can we do something? Please I don't want Y/n to get hurt like that, I never want her to live here."

Jungkook nodded, he would find a way out, no matter what it took.
__

Jungkook knew how badly Taehyung wanted to leave that place too.

Jungkook's expression was torn. He wanted to flee too, but he couldn't risk it. Not with Taehyung's age and Y/n's vulnerability. Jungkook could only ensure Y/n's safety.

And even if he takes Taehyung, he can't leave Mine alone either. So it's better for Jungkook to focus on his sister first.

Jungkook made the decision to take Y/n away, Taehyung will be okay on his own. .

Jungkook and Y/n reached a dusty room, far from their house. Y/n's allergies flared up, "Wait outside okay? I will clean it quickly." Jungkook said.

Jungkook quickly cleaned the space, making it habitable. With no mattress, he let Y/n sleep on his lap.

As she struggled to fall asleep, Jungkook patted her head. Then entered the world where Y/n's life was perfect. He told her of a loving family, a warm home, and a life free of pain.

"But mom hates me." She mumbled.

"No, your mom loved you. She was a nice woman, and she would cook for you, take care of you and would love you a lot. Your parents love you alot. " He lied, just so she can Imagine that.

"Do I have a dad too?" She asked. Y/n's eyes sparkled, her mind embracing the fantasy.

"Yes, I am your dad." He said.

"You are my brother." She replied.

"What does dad do? They play with you, they take care of you, they protect you, they spoil you right? I do all that? So that makes me your dad right?" He asked. She nodded her head.

Jungkook's stories became her reality, shielding her from the trauma she had endured.

As she drifted off to sleep, Jungkook held her close, his heart aching with love.

Jungkook grew up in street crimes, but he has never entered the world of organized crime in a serious way. He hated that job but now he was all in.

The small-time side hustles for drug dealers were just a warm-up. He wanted more. He wanted to earn big.

Jungkook would do anything, he was young but he wouldn't not shy away from commiting dangerous crimes.

He just has one promise to himself that no matter what happens, he will come back alive. Because he can't leave Y/n alone.

He would do whatever it took to earn the money he needed to protect Y/n and give her the life she deserved. The risk was worth it.
__

Jungkook gazed out at the city skyline, his eyes fixed on the high-rise buildings and luxury estates. He turned to Y/n, now he can surely fulfill her wishes but he wants more. He wants Y/n to have more than she has ever imagined.

And he wants to get out of this neighborhood. He wants to live in the high society area, where the elite reside.

Jungkook wanted more. He want to be part of that world. And to do that, he need to start his own business.

Jungkook's business ventures took off. He started selling illegal goods, but also opened nightclubs, manufactured weapons for international sales, and invested in hotels. His empire grew exponentially.

By the time Jungkook turned 23, he was a multimillionaire. He and Y/n moved into a luxurious mansion, surrounded by the elite he once envied.

But Y/n noticed the change in Jungkook. His eyes, once bright and full of hope, now seemed calculating and cold. His smile, once genuine, now seemed forced.

Now it was time for him to grow distant from her too.

Jungkook has been erasing each part of her past memory through her brain. She was young so it wasn't hard to make her forget about the past.

But Jungkook is part of her past too, she will remember about her brother and her past too. So he decided to just live as her father only.

And fathers are cold, they don't get too close and keep a cold exterior.

Jungkook was doing what needed to be done. He was providing for them, for their future.

He didn't care that he had to act and live 10 years older than his age, because his mind was already of that age.

Jungkook stopped being her loving brother who would even feed her with his own hands and become a father who just does things for her without making it obvious.

The more crimes he does, the more he thinks it will be better for him to take away from her.
___

Present time

"We are old friends." Taehyung said.

Y/n's eyes narrowed. "But how can that be? You're way older than him, Dad."

Jungkook's expression turned dark, his eyes flashing with a warning. "It's complicated, Y/n. Just drop it. Taehyung, come with me, I needs t talk to you."

Jungkook stood up and he hold his hand bringing Taehyung outside. Taehyung looked around, "This place is so good."

Jungkook led Taehyung outside, his eyes fixed on the younger man. "What do you want, Taehyung? I'll give you as much money as you need, just leave us alone."

Taehyung's smile was enigmatic. "I don't want money, Jungkook."

Jungkook's brow furrowed. "What do you want, then?"

Taehyung's gaze drifted to Y/n, who was watching from a distance. "I want her. And I don't need your permission, Jungkook. I know how much she still loves me."

Jungkook snorted. "She doesn't even remember you, let alone you."

Taehyung chuckled. "Within a month of texts, Y/n and I started dating. That shows our love still exists."

Jungkook had thought he had erased Taehyung from Y/n's life, but...

Taehyung's smile grew wider. "You can't erase what's meant to be. Y/n and I have a connection that goes beyond your control."

Jungkook's grip on Taehyung's arm tightened. "You'll never have her. I won't let you. You are a broke guy, I want someone perfect for her,"

"You are not perfect either. You grew up in same childhood as me." Taehyung replied.

"Yeah, and I am not for her. Taehyung, Y/n deserve better." Jungkook said.

"I am, I want to do everything to give her a good life." Taehyung said. But Jungkook was not convinced. He doesn't want Taehyung for Y/n, he doesn't want anyone for Y/n. He wants to the most perfect man, who would never hurt Y/n.

"I am happy you took her away, it's just Y/n was away from me. And I missed her. You should have bring me and noona too." Taehyung said, "We all were surviving there because of each other. You know after you left Noona,"

Jungkook stared at Taehyung, as Taehyung continued, "Noona, She k!lled herself. She didn't want to be a sex work."

Jungkook runs his fingers through his hair. It's painful to think of their childhood for him too.

"I don't blame you for her dead, but you got so powerful over the year," Taehyung's eyes narrowed. "Why didn't you take revenge, Jungkook? You had every chance."

Jungkook's expression turned bitter. "Revenge against who, Taehyung? The system? My mother's clients? Your father? The Mina who paid to sleep With her?"

Taehyung's voice rose. "Yes, them! They destroyed our lives."

Jungkook's laugh was cold. "I was born in a club, Taehyung, to a prostitute. What revenge can I take? I'm a product of that system."

Jungkook's eyes filled with a deep sadness. "I spent years struggling, Taehyung. I don't want to spend any more years consumed by that area."

Taehyung's voice cut like a knife. "Then why are you doing exactly what my father did? Making money off selling people? On the top you are creating more and more places like that, you are promoting sex trafficking and sex works."

Jungkook's face paled, the truth stinging. "I need to start somewhere, I did, it was in the start only, I started from there and the sold my sex trafficking out."

"Yeah, you sold out 35 of such places where there are more 680 women who are still suffering because of you. You could have destroy them, but you just increased the business." Taehyung said.

Jungkook had tried to justify his actions, Was he any better than the ones he claimed to hate?

"You just disappointed me. You took your sister away from the business yet has pushed so many girl into it." Taehyung said.

It was in start, because Jungkook only knew how sex trafficking business work, and to earn money in quickest way he choose to do that.

Taehyung looked around and saw Y/n sitting in the balcony, she was watching them. "Now if you excuse me, I need to go to her."

Taehyung was about to leave but Jungkook hold his arm. "If she got hurt or remember the painful memories, I will burn you alive."

Taehyung stared at Jungkook's eyes and it was a clear warning. And he said, "The door is that way, you should leave."
___

Y/n's fingers flew across her phone's keyboard, she was texting Taehyung. She was disappointed as he left without meeting her but Taehyung's response came quickly.

V-
I'm sorry, Y/n. Let's meet tomorrow instead?

Y/n's face brightened, and she set her phone down, lost in thought. She sat at the dining table, she used to eat alone.

Jungkook never joined her for dinner.

But tonight, the chair across from her scraped against the floor, and Jungkook sat down. Y/n's eyes widened in surprise.

Jungkook's gaze was soft, unusual. "How are you, Y/n?"

Y/n's mind reeled. They never talked like this, never shared emotions. "I'm...fine."

Jungkook's eyes locked onto hers. "What's going on with Taehyung? You're seeing him, aren't you?"

Y/n's heart skipped a beat. "Yes, how do you know him?"

Jungkook's expression was neutral. "I just met him at work."

Y/n's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean you met him at work?"

Jungkook shrugged, while lying. "Just a coincidence."

Y/n's mind raced. She didn't believe him. "And what did you think of him?"

Jungkook's mask slipped, a flicker of pain crossing his face before he regained control. "He's...fine. Tell me, how do you feel about him?"

Y/n's face glowed with happiness. "I love him. I'm so happy to be dating him. He is so perfect. Whenever I am with him, I feel so happy."

Jungkook's eyes seemed to cloud, his jaw clenched in a mixture of emotions. "I see."

"You like him right? If you don't I will leave him." Y/n said.

Jungkook was touched, she cares that much of what he wants? Then she should leave Taehyung.

"You will break up if I tell you I don't like him?" Jungkook asked.

"Of course, your opinion matters to me." Y/n exclaimed.

Aww, She cares so much about him, he feels like he would cry.

"If you are happy, I am happy. You don't need to break up with him." Jungkook said he can't just said that. But he can't see her sad too and it's first time she is dating someone. That must mean she really loves Taehyung.

"Thank you, Dad!" She said.
