JinMin / Angst
Jimin had seen all the signs. They were clear as a cloudless sky. He thought anyone could see it if they cared to look, but that wasn't the case. Most people didn't notice, but he did.
As he watched Seokjin go about his normal daily activities, Jimin could see the light dimming in his beautiful eyes. His hyung was clearly unhappy. But why?
They had it all.
They had a career they loved, fans they adored and received adoration from in return, respect from worldwide artists, more money than they could ever hope to count or spend, and all the perks of being famous, attractive, and talented.
What else could they possibly want or need?
But Jimin saw it in Seokjin each time they were alone. He heard it in his words of worry that were shared in confidence. And he understood more than he probably should.
"What else are we supposed to do, Jimin?" Seokjin hung his head low, sitting on the edge of Jimin's bed in the middle of the night. His elbows rested on his knees with his shoulders slumped. He felt so drained, and it was obvious. It didn't need to be hidden right now, knowing his thoughts and feelings were safe here.
"I don't know, Hyung." Jimin felt just as lost as Seokjin did. If his eldest hyung didn't know what to do, how could he have any hope of knowing?
"No matter what we do, what we achieve, what we have..." This made Seokjin feel ungrateful. "I'm still unhappy."
Even Jimin knew that they were supposed to be happy with everything they had. There was so much they should be thankful for, and truly, they were. They were so thankful for everything they'd been able to do so far in their lives and careers, but none of it was filling the deep hole in their hearts. "What do you think we need? What would make you happy?"
"That's the thing. I don't know anymore." Seokjin had everything, yet he was still so unhappy. He felt so empty inside sometimes, and he didn't know how to make that feeling go away.
"We have so much. But..." Jimin laid his head on Seokjin's shoulder and sighed. "I wish we knew how to be genuinely happy."
No matter how much they achieved, there was always something missing, and it ate away at them. They had everything, but they didn't feel like winners.
They just felt like victims of fame.
