33. Quaratine love || J.JK || One Shot
When the pandemic first hit, it felt like the end of the world, there was a lack of toilet paper, a person couldn't leave their house, people were dying, and many lost their jobs. Overall, the world was at a standstill with many questions up in the air.
The only things I was grateful for was that school was suspended for a few weeks while they figured out how to proceed and my boyfriend, Jungkook was not going on tour and staying home. It was very sad at first seeing how they had been preparing for months and were very excited to share the new album with the fans, but on the bright side he wouldn't be gone for months at a time.
The first few weeks were heaven Jungkook and I hadn't spent that much time together in our relationship. We were making the most of it before Big Hit filled his schedule again. Without our responsibilities we had so much fun we played video games, pigged out on junk food, messed around in the gym afterwards, and cuddled, a lot.
Weeks later the bliss began to dissipate my classes started back up again and I made myself a routine while Jungkook got restless because he didn't have as much to do as before. I can't say we got sick of each other, but when you're stuck in an apartment with the same person for so long you start to go nuts. The days Kook stayed with the boys were amazing because I had some time to myself to think clearly and do whatever I wanted. I could have my music loud and study till the wee hours in the morning without disturbing his sleep, I could go to bed without showering and he won't be here to scold me and tell me to shower, and I could order my steak medium rare without him complaining about it.
It's good for our relationship too, because eventually after being alone for a few days I'd miss him and welcome him home with open arms only for the cycle to repeat itself. That's where we are now not quite hating each other, but giving the other some space.
We were on the sofa I had my feet up on his lap trying to read a book for my English class. While Jungkook interrupted me every five minutes.
"Jade," he calls my attention.
"Hm," I kept my eyes on the book trying to focus and understand the words on the page.
"Whatcha reading?" he cutely asks.
"A book for class," I shortly respond so he'd take the hint now is not the time to talk.
"What's it about?" he asks again. I look over my book to see him with a bunny smile. It was cute, but not cute enough to distract me from this assignment that was due in two days.
"Um, I'm barely starting I'm not sure," I sigh, turning the page. I did know I couldn't bother to explain. I was only on page 50 out of 375. Someone kill me please.
"Oh, okay," he nods focusing his attention on the TV screen.
Thinking he was going to shut up I submerge myself on the book only for him to speak two minutes later, "When will you be done?"
"I don't know Kook whenever I'm done," I exasperatedly whine wanting to get this over with.
He lifted his palms up in surrender, his doe eyes wide at my reaction.
Jungkook stayed silent for a good while letting me read in peace. He turned on his video games and played for an hour talking into his headset. Alas, it couldn't last for too long. His controller had no battery left leaving him bored once more.
Feeling a poke in my leg, I ignored it and kept reading. Subsequent pokes kept coming making me move my leg from his lap I didn't dare give him attention I had to finish this.
A tug on my sweatpants made my leg drop from its propped position, startling me in the process. I dropped my book and glared at my boyfriend who only stared at me with an innocent look.
"Is it long?" he quietly mumbled, pointing at my book.
"I swear Jungkook you interrupt my reading one more time, and this book will become a lethal weapon," I loudly spoke with a menacing look.
I think this was a mistake from my part because bringing my book back up I saw the mischievous smile on his face. I didn't bother reading again because I just knew he was about to do something.
I waited and waited but nothing came so I relaxed on my seat and started reading and just like that the book was ripped from my hands and a running bunny took off.
Jungkook stopped in the hallway and pointed at the book, "What are you going to do without your weapon?"
"Oh honey, I have two very capable hands," I growled, standing from the couch ready to pounce.
I chased him out of the living room and into the hallway he dashed as quick as he could trying to get away from me. He was dumb locking himself in the bathroom, what was he going to do now? From behind the door, I heard the shower running if he was going to shower, I was going to double kill him. I felt my blood boiling at the audacity. Any other day I would happily played along but I had less than 48 hours to read the damn book and write an essay about it!
"Jungkook open the door," I banged on the door.
"No!" he giggled.
"I'm not kidding Kook, open!"
"No!" he said louder.
Leaving me no choice I searched through the kitchen drawers for the keys. Stumping to the door I unlocked it to find Jungkook leaning on the counter flipping through the pages, the shower behind him running.
"I'm going to kill you for wasting water and wasting my time!" I yelled, turning the faucet off. Another mistake because Jungkook dashed out the door, slamming it behind him.
"Hey!" I tried prying it open, but he was holding it closed from the other side.
"Jungkook let go," I screamed, pulling on the handle.
"Not until you give me some attention," he said loudly. Even if I couldn't see him I could imagine he had stupid smile on his face making his nose scrunch.
"Is this not enough attention for you?" I kept pulling, successfully opening it the tiniest bit only for Kook to pull harder, slamming it closed again.
"You've barely looked my way the whole day," he whined.
"I need to get my assignments done," I stated annoyed at his behavior, "If you stopped being a brat maybe I would've finished by now."
"Promise you'll pay attention to me later?" he tried negotiating.
"Yes!" This was the way to get my book back, I'll get revenge later.
"Okay," he simply responded letting go of the door which was a huge mistake. Since I was pulling on the door handle the door slammed open with a 'bang!' hitting me in the face in the process. I fell back on the bathroom floor holding my face in my hands.
"Ow," Tears welled in my eyes from both the impact and the stinging pain I felt.
"Oh my god, Jade are you okay?" Kook rushed to my side, inspecting my face for any damage done.
"Leave me alone Kook," Pushing him away with teary eyes I picked up the book from the floor and left him behind.
Following me into the living room he apologized many times, "I'm so sorry it was an accident."
"I'm going to the room to finish this," I mumbled, grabbing my laptop too and shutting myself in the bedroom.
I know he felt bad, and it was an accident, but I was upset. I felt so much stress from school because the professors went off handing assignments left and right giving me no time to breath and Jungkook wasn't letting me do what I had to do. After I finished this I'll talk to him properly.
Throughout the afternoon Jungkook didn't bother me at all. He only left me an ice packet on the door with a bottle of water and a pain killer. I gladly took them as a splitting headache was making itself known as the minutes went by.
With no distractions I managed to fly through the book and make a draft of the essay. Standing up from the desk I stretched and opened the door. The apartment was unusually quiet as I called for Jungkook, yet I was met with silence. On the kitchen counter there was a lone sticky note.
I felt horrible for ignoring him. I shouldn't have done that; I know with what's happening it's so easy to get bored especially since I'm constantly being bombarded with work. He's too good to me preparing some dinner and I know he left the apartment to give me space. I should organize myself better and not leave assignments last minute maybe all of this could've been prevented. Although, this isn't completely my fault Jungkook should understand this is important and I need to focus on it the same way he focuses when learning new choreography or a new song.
Heating up the food and eating it I went into the bathroom to take a shower and get ready for bed. Shuffling into the room I heard the other shower running which means Jungkook's back. Quickly I got dressed in a set of pajamas and waited for him to get to the bedroom.
After 10 long minutes Jungkook entered the room, he only had a towel around his waist his hair wet with droplets of water falling onto his shoulders and chest. Snap out of it Jade now is not the time.
"Hey Kook, can we talk?" I asked him lightly. I didn't want to fight I needed to do right by Kook and go back to normal.
"Yeah, of course I wanted to talk to you too," he nodded, taking out underwear from his drawers and putting them on.
Why did he have to be in such great shape? This was so distracting.
Not bothering with any other clothes, he got into bed sitting against the headboard next to me.
"I'm sorry for distracting you earlier I was really bored, and I didn't know what else to do," he apologized, grabbing hold of my hand.
"I'm sorry for acting so mean towards you," I also apologized feeling bad for the way I stormed out of the room.
"I did hit you with a door I think I deserve it," Jungkook chuckled, shaking his head.
"No, you don't. I know it was an accident you don't deserve any of that," I insisted, leaning to kiss his cheek, "I do need you to understand that sometimes I'm going to be busy with schoolwork. If you leave me be for a few hours, you'll see I'll be done quicker," I then added to make sure what happened today wouldn't repeat itself, "You don't need to leave the apartment either I like having you around and listening to you hum to yourself."
"I'll try," he spoke, a familiar smile on his lips.
"You better," I teased, pointing at him.
"Come here," he laughed, pulling me closer and kissing my forehead where I had a purple mark from the door hitting me. He proceeded to kiss down my nose and my lips.
He almost had me pinned with his arms around me resting on the bed. He trailed down to my neck where he gave an audible whiff and said, "You smell so good."
"Thanks," I chuckled at his weird behavior to sniff things and people.
"Ah!" I screamed when he bit into my neck, "Stop being an aggressive bunny that hurts!"
I gently slapped his back while he laughed like a little kid. He fell back on the bed holding his stomach, shaking from laughter.
"It's not that funny Kook," I chuckled along, crawling on top of him and putting my hand on his mouth muffling his sweet laughter. Slowly but surely, he calmed down. Taking my hand away there was a grin in his face.
"You know I can make it up to you," he then said, bouncing his eyebrows and biting his lip.
"Is that so?" Smirking I leaned down so our faces were close.
"Yeah..." He kissed my lips slowly, hypnotizing me in the process to fall more in love with him.
Slowly pulling away he whispered, "I'm going to order some fried chicken that always makes you happy."
Softly pushing me back on the bed he grabbed his phone and dialed our usual place while I sat there and mumbled, "That's not the meat I wanted."
"What's that?" he asked, turning to me the purest look in his face, "Would you prefer beef?"
It was my turn to laugh like a maniac as he talked to the restaurant and looked at me as if I was a weirdo.
The rest of the night we spent eating the chicken and beef he ordered and watching the movie 'Your Name.' It was a given that with Jungkook by your side you'll never be bored I was still amazed by the little quirks he has like clapping whenever he got excited. It was those tiny things that made me love him more and more and made me think about how lucky I was that he loved me too. Many things didn't go as planned this year, that's for sure, but it's opened up the door for incredible moments between the two of us.
A/N:
Hi again!
I'm so sorry for any grammatical mistakes, the program I usually use was being mean and didn't want to work!
Enjoy!!!
