30. Roller Coaster || J. HS || Imagine
If there was anything in the world that was true, it would be the fact that Jung Hoseok loved Sun Hee more than anything in the world. Why, you might ask? Simple, not only did he agree to go to an amusement park with her, but he also agreed to go on a roller coaster.
Everyone knew he was a coward when it came to things like these and that he only did them when he was forced to like for a RUN BTS. Although this time all it took was a bat of Sun Hee's eyelashes and a pout on her pink lips and he agreed without thinking twice.
Sun Hee knew he wasn't a fan, which is why she only asked him to ride this one with her. In her mind it looked tamed compared to the other dozen of roller coasters that did many loops and falls. She didn't mean any harm, not at all, she thought it would be cute to go on a ride with him where she could grip his hand instead of the handlebar and scream and laugh along with him instead of alone. It would be a shared memory they could both laugh at in the future.
It was decided it would be the last one they would go to in case he got sick. Throughout the whole day Hoseok looked at the ride with fear in his eyes his heart beating incredibly quickly. He was more scared than when he had to perform in front of thousands of people. He made sure to keep Sun Hee busy with other rides and games in the park and when that didn't work he bought her whatever food was available all too tire her out and make her forget about the damn ride. Sadly, his attempts did not work because as night neared and the sky darkened Sun Hee pointed out it was time to go on the terrifying roller coaster.
Hoseok stared at it with disdain from his place on a bench. He heard the screams of people and wondered why they did it if it was that scary, what was the point? He did not find it fun to have his stomach drop as the cart went into the abyss or his heart pound in his chest as the cart neared the peak of the metal rails, yet here he was doing it for HER. She did not force him to do it, but he felt bad for making her go alone in all the others. He wouldn't die from just one ride, right?
As they went to the queue and neared the death machine Hoseok notice how tall it truly was. From afar it didn't look as threatening, but now that he was a few meters away, he noted how massive it frightfully was. The only thing holding him back from running was Sun Hee's hand holding onto him. All he could do was gulp and tremble slightly besides her.
Sun Hee was not stupid, she noticed how her boyfriend shook like a leaf, but he would surely tell her if he didn't want to go on the roller coaster, right? She stared at him as he looked up at the giant machine with fear in his eyes. She had to stifle her laugh at the sight. He looked utterly terrified. Was she a bad girlfriend for making him do this?
"Babe, " she called out to him.
He hummed as his eyes watched the roller coaster zoom by.
"You know you don't have to do this if you don't want to," she assured him one more time before it was too late.
"I do want to!" He insisted with a pout.
"Okay, if you say so," Sun Hee unconvincingly nodded.
Finally, after 20 long minutes or short in Hoseok's case it was their turn to get into the small metal cart. He went first and Sun Hee decided to take a picture to remember this monumental moment. Hoseok waved at the camera with fake enthusiasm and it translated perfectly in the picture.
Before one of the workers scolded her Sun Hee quickly got in beside him and pulled on the metal bar locking them into place. Hoseok jumped at the loud clacking sound it made.
"Is this really safe?" his voice trembled as he looked at her with fear in his eyes.
"Yes Hoseok, trust me nothing has ever happened in this ride. "
Unluckily for her one of the workers was walking by when he heard her say those words and like the little shit he was he fed Hoseok a fake story.
"Actually a few years ago one of the handlebars got stuck and we were not allowed to stop the machine so a poor couple that came on vacation had to go on the ride ten more times until the engineer got here and fixed it," the worker said with a fake look of worry before sauntering off.
Sun Hee knew it was total bullshit and that he said it just to scare Hoseok more. They tend to do that to scare kids and young teens, but Hoseok didn't know any better as he didn't usually went on rides.
"We need to get out of here Sun I can't do this," he cried, gripping her hand.
"Alright everyone hold on tight please keep arms and legs inside the cart at all times, remember no cameras allowed." The worker in front announced through a microphone.
"I'm gonna die," Hoseok whined knowing there was no turning back now.
"Baby, baby, no, we'll be fine, he was just messing with you," Sun Hee tried consoling him, but failing as Hoseok's mind already built terrible and improbable scenarios.
"You don't know that," he shook his head furiously.
As the countdown finished Sun Hee knew there wasn't much she could do. So before they were lurched forward at high speeds she grabbed his hand and tried to enjoy the ride, Hoseok's screams resonating in her ears. Through the drops and loops Hoseok gripped Sun Hee's hand like a vice cutting her circulation, she didn't care though as she squeezed back just as tightly.
When the ride ended, she looked towards her boyfriend and was surprised to see him with a small smile.
"That wasn't so bad," he lightly laughed.
"I told- oh my, are you okay?" She exclaimed as her boyfriends her lolled to the side.
"Yeah, yeah," he waved her off head still hanging.
Once the cart stopped and the handlebar popped up Hoseok practically ran out onto the main park not bothering to wait for the love of his life.
Reaching him she jokingly said, "Want to go again?" and was met with a glare.
"Come on baby, I have one you'll enjoy," she told him, dragging him along.
"No, please."
"Trust me," Sun Hee chuckled.
Hoseok let out a sigh of relief as she stopped in front of the Ferris wheel now this he could deal with.
They didn't wait long till they got on and it slowly made its ascent to the top, stopping once they were the ones at the very top. The breeze felt nice cooling their overheated skin from standing in the sun for hours. Hoseok placed his arm around her shoulder's pulling her as close as he could.
"This is much better," he murmured in her ear.
"I told you, you didn't have to go on the ride," she whispered, not wanting to break the soothing atmosphere.
"I know I wanted to at least once," he assured her, gazing into her eyes lovingly.
"Thank you," she answered, brushing her nose against his.
"I would say anytime, but that's a lie," Hoseok grinned against her lips.
"Just kiss me already."
"Gladly," with that he pushed his lips against hers.
Every time they kissed it was like the first one, they still felt the familiar sparks and warmth enveloping them. The kiss was slow and tender there was no rush to it, they wanted to take each other in. Hoseok wanted to remember how Sun Hee's chapstick tasted like or how they moved perfectly in sync with his, while Sun Hee wanted to cherish the softness of his skin as she placed her hands on his cheeks and the grin on his lips as they pulled apart. The moment was perfect and it didn't matter that just moments before Hoseok almost died of a heart attack, all that mattered was that they loved each other and would do anything to make the other happy.
