Namjoon - Stage Accident
{Namjoon's POV}
"Two minutes till BTS take the stage." One of the stage directors called out. We were waiting backstage, preparing ourselves for our twenty-minute performance on the MAMAs. We were halfway through a local tour of Korea and, considering the MAMAs took place in Seoul that year, we were able to take time out of our tour schedule to do a short performance in the show.
"Right, guys!" I called out, over the loud music coming from the stage above us. The other members jogged over to me and we huddled together. "Let's make this a damn good show, yes?"
"Yes!" The members cheered with excited nods of their heads.
"Bangtan!" We shouted and took our places under the stage floor, awaiting our cue.
"This is gonna be good," Hoseok said, crouching beside me. He had a grin plastered all over his face and he was practically shaking with excitement. "I can feel it!"
"10 seconds!" The stage director counted us down. I looked over to the other members and caught Jimin giving me two thumbs up. He was looking just as excited as Hoseok. "7, 6, 5..." I just grinned and nodded at him as the platforms, we were standing on, started to go up.
The lights flashed as we took our places on the stage. Army cheered and screamed as the intro to Fire played, going absolutely crazy when Yoongi said his line. The music was loud, the lights were blinding, and the atmosphere was positively overwhelming. We performed Fire, Idol, and Boy with Luv. It was all going amazingly until halfway through Dionysus.
{Hoseok's POV}
Dionysus started well, we were all so hyped and caught up with the performance that I was the only one to notice what happened at first. It was all going smoothly and Armys were all screaming and chanting along until Namjoon got onto the table to do his part.
As Namjoon stood up, he must have misjudged his footing as he fell backwards.
Armys' screams filled my ears, and everything slowed.
I felt my heart stop as Namjoon fell off the table. In my eyes, it was like watching it in slow motion, however, my body reacted instantly. Even though I hadn't processed it in my mind, my feet rushed me over to my brother to help him.
The music continued playing, but the other members stopped what they were doing, seeing the armys' reaction.
"Joon, are you okay?" I shouted over the loud music, running over to him. Yoongi was closely following behind me now. Namjoon was just pushing himself back up onto his feet as we approached him. I gave him my hand to help. He looked rather stunned but other than that he seemed okay.
"Namjoon, what happened?" Yoongi shouted, concern covering his face.
"Foot slipped," Was all Namjoon said, brushing off our concern. I frowned at him. It seemed like he was okay but he seemed pretty shaken by the fall. I wondered if he was keeping quiet if he'd hurt himself. "Keep performing, go!" He pushed past us and went back to the rest of the members, who looked just as worried as we did.
The lights on the stage dimmed, indicating the song had ended. I didn't really know what to do. We had one song left to perform, Mic Drop. But I think we were all too concerned about our leader to concentrate on the rest of the performance. I contemplated asking Joon if he wanted to sit the last song out, but I knew he'd refuse to, so I just took my place on stage instead.
{Namjoon's POV}
I was so embarrassed! And I was in pain... But I carried on with the last song after seeing the concerned expression on Yoongi and Hoseok's faces. The army seemed fairly quiet afterwards so after the last song I gave them a few words of reassurance, telling them I was fine and not to worry. Jimin made a comment about it not being him for once and Army laughed at it so the performance ended on a funny note.
As we walked backstage, however, I couldn't keep up the act, my ankle really hurt!
"Hyung, are you really okay?" Jungkook asked as we walked back to our dressing room. "You're limping."
"I'm fine," I said but he saw me wince and didn't believe me at all.
"No, you're not," Seokjin sighed, grabbing my arm to help balance me. I hated them being worried but, to be honest, I was thankful for the help. "Sit down. Yoongi, get a medic."
Yoongi nodded and headed out of the room, taking Jimin with him. Seokjin sat me down on the small couch that was in the dressing room.
"My ankle hurts," I said as I sat, deciding to just be honest with them now since they weren't under any illusions anymore. I took my shoe off to relieve some of the pressure on my foot but decided that was a bad idea, considering the pain that came after. "Really bad, I think I twisted it."
"Then why the hell did you keep dancing?" Hoseok scolded with a stern voice, walking over and kneeling in front of me. He was always strict about taking breaks from dancing if we were injured so I knew he was annoyed at me.
"We were performing in front of one million people, Hope. It was being live-streamed, I couldn't just leave the stage - not when we only had one song left!"
I knew he was annoyed, I knew I had crossed the line, but he couldn't argue with being professional. I knew he was about to continue lecturing me but Yoongi and Jimin walked back into the room with an onsite medic.
"What's happened, Namjoon?" The medic asked, crouching down next to Hoseok, and looking at me. "I saw you fall."
"Yeah," I mumbled, feeling embarrassed. "I think I twisted my ankle."
"Let me have a look," The medic said and started to closely examine my ankle. I grimaced at how swollen it had got over the few minutes that had passed.
"Okay, well, it's definitely twisted." The medic said after a moment. "I think we should strap it and get you to the ER, just to make sure there's no hidden damage. It looks like you'll have to sit out of tomorrow's concert though."
I looked up at him, not liking the idea of missing a show, but Hoseok seemed to agree as did the other members.
At the ER, the doctors got me through pretty quickly, as our manager gave them a rundown of our situation. They took me for an x-ray and it showed that there was no other damage. My ankle was just really badly twisted, which sucked, but that meant I could return to performing in a few weeks or so.
I had to sit out of dancing for five concerts, which I absolutely hated, but the Army understood. We are so lucky to have such a caring fanbase, I was just disappointed in myself for letting them down.
