M/N's P.O.V
I sat there awkwardly, wondering if I really belonged here. I wasn't as skilled as these people were, they could dance better than me, sing better than me, rap better than me; the list of things they could do better than me went on and on. Compared to them, I was at the lowest level and they were on the highest level. I didn't belong here. Why did they get me dressed up for this? I wouldn't win an award. Thoughts ran through my head as I glanced around the room filled with people. The MAMA's were a big deal and I didn't want to make a fool of myself at my first award event. There were famous people all around me, people you could only dream of meeting. But why was I here? I wasn't a famous idol. I had only released two albums that my fans seemed to enjoy. I wasn't like the others who had released a bunch of albums that millions of people had enjoyed and still do enjoy. I just wanted to make a positive impact on the music industry and the world, while doing what I love, dancing and singing, but now, I'm not sure if I'm suitable for this job anymore.
I sat alone at a table, knowing no one was going to sit next to me. I really wasn't the best at making friends in such crowded places, I'd always been an introvert.
"Do you mind if I sit here?" A deep voice asked, doing the same cliché thing that I'd seen in all Hollywood romance movies. The boy would ask to sit with the girl, who always sat by herself since no one wanted to be her friend.
"Um... no one's sitting there, so, uh... go ahead." I quickly answered, moving my black trench coat off the chair he wanted to sit in. He gave me a small smile before sitting down, glancing back at the table he once sat at.
"You're new! I haven't seen you before." He stated, his gaze turning towards me.
"I'm a rookie," I mumbled, knowing he had to someone popular. "You probably don't want to get caught with me, it'll start stupid rumors." He chuckled, showing me an adorable, box smile.
"But what if I want to be friends with you?" He inquired, catching me off guard.
"You want to be friend with me?" I repeated, confused by his words. "Why? I'm only a rookie."
"I don't care if you're a rookie, I was once a rookie." He told me, giving me a reassuring smile. "Everyone in this room was once a rookie at one point in time... Plus, you seemed lonely over here all alone." I looked up at him, giving him a small smile for his thoughtfulness.
"Thank you," I whispered, not really knowing how to continue with this conversation. "I, uh, I..." I huffed, mentally cursing myself for being so awkward.
"It's okay to be shy at big events like these when it's your first time. I'm assuming this is your first time here, right?" He remarked, looking at me as my cheeks flushed from being so awkward.
"Yeah," I replied, fiddling with the hem of my black sleeve. "My manager told me about the MAMA's, but I don't really know why I'm here. I'm not that successful of an idol yet, I've only released two albums." He nodded, listening to every word that fell off my tongue.
"To let you in on a secret, I lied when I said I've never seen you before... You're that one successful boy who's quickly risen to fame! I've heard some of your music and I love it!" He beamed, his blonde hair bouncing slightly as he moved. "My name's Kim Taehyung, sorry I didn't introduce myself earlier..." He shyly smiled, lightly rubbing the back of his neck.
"You're fine," I replied, giving him a reassuring look. "I'm Areum (M/n)." He looked at me, his brown eyes shining in the ceiling lights.
"Nice to meet you properly, (M/n)." He said, sticking his hand out for me to shake. I raised my hand to him, seeing his hand was much larger than mine.
"You have such small hands, they remind me of Jimin's hands!" He laughed as we shook hands.
"Do you get to perform tonight?" I nodded, nervousness building up in my stomach. "Oh, I can't wait! Which song are you performing?"
"Feel Something," I answered, trying to keep the butterflies in my stomach.
"I love that one!" He exclaimed, causing a few people to turn their heads towards us and give us a sharp glare before turning away to continue watching the performance. "Sorry..." His honey-toned cheeks flushed pink, only adding onto his adorableness.
"How many of my songs have you listened to?" I inquired, worried about what he thought of my music. "Did you like them?" He vigorously nodded.
"I loved them all! You're very good for a rookie!" He assured me, glancing back at his table, again.
"I have to go, but I hope to see you again, (M/n)." He stood up, pushing his chair in before walking away. He waved goodbye to me while walking towards the table he had sat at before. I waved back, smiling at him as he sat down next to a smaller black-haired man, who's paler skin shined on the ceiling light. I examined the six other men at his table, wondering how they could deal with so many hair color changes in such a short amount of time. They stared at me, confusion filling their brown eyes as the broad-shouldered one poked Taehyung, probably to get an answer of who I was. I chuckled slightly and turning away, so I could watch the ending of Wanna One's performance.
