M/N's P.O.V
I lightly kissed the boys foreheads before bending down to give them a hug. They wrapped their arms around me, their soft, dark brown hair tickling my cheeks as they tightly gripped onto me.
"Do you have to go, Papa?" Noah asked as they both of them let go of me. "We don't want you to go, it's dangerous." They looked up at me with their brown eyes that shined with sorrow.
"Please, Papa, just stay home with us," Harry begged, tears forming in his eyes as he tugged on my light grey suit. "I don't want those mean humans to hurt you like they did with Grandma and Grandpa..."
"I have to go." I softly responded, standing up from my uncomfortable squatting position. "I promise you, I'll be back as soon as I can." I glanced over at Taehyung, seeing the worried expression on his honey-toned face. I smiled softly as I gave him a quick peck on lips.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine," I whispered into his ear, gently cupping his face. "You have my word, love." He weakly smiled at me as I let go of him and stepped back.
"I know, I'm just worried. The nobles and commoners are getting more and more suspicious of us." He stated, horrid memories of my mother and father being stabbed to by wooden stakes flooded into my mind. "I'm just scared they'll attack you like they did Hoseok and Yoongi. They were out in town one night and the villagers abruptly attacked them, nearly stabbing Hoseok with a wooden stake." I snapped out of my daze, my eyes widening at the horrible news.
"Boys, why don't you go inside and play with your toys?" I suggested, they reluctantly walked towards the front doors.
"But what about uncle Yoongi and uncle Hoseok, are they okay?" Noah chimed, concern crossing his face.
"Yes, they're okay," I reassured, giving them as assuring smile as they walked inside and shut the doors behind them. "They got attacked? How? They were so well hidden..."
"Apparently, there's a new vampire hunter going around and targeting people." He told me, my heart beginning to beat quickly in fear. "He found Yoongi and Hoseok, so who's to say he won't find Jungkook and his wife, or Namjoon and Seokjin, or even Jimin and his daughter?" I felt my heart shatter again at the mention of Jimin and his daughter. It felt like yesterday when she died, but it had been nearly five years now. I guess, the pain of losing someone never truly fades away.
"They can't find Jimin again... He already lost Isabella." I whispered, tears pooling in my eyes at the thought of my beloved sister that was also his beloved wife. "I'm not losing anyone else." Taehyung nodded, agreeing with my statement.
"I know." He remarked, placing a gentle kiss my forehead. "Please, stay safe and come back to me." I nodded, seeing the stars brightly shining above us. I needed to leave before the sun came up or I would be forced into hiding until nightfall.
"I'll try to find something for us to drink that should last us a month or two, maybe a bear or two would work," I stated, wondering why the humans hated us so much, we only killed animals for their blood, not humans like some of our kind stupidly did. Taehyung nodded, reluctantly letting me go alone. The villagers were quickly getting suspicious of us, they knew we lived in the far off countryside away from most of the manors, but they always wondered why we didn't live close to the other nobles. I knew they would soon find out, they always did.
"Please, come back to me." He mumbled, pulling me close to him. I wrapped my arms around his waist as I rested my head on his shoulder. "I can't lose you. I need you and the boys do as well."
"I'll come back, I promise," I assured him, hoping I could stay true to my promise. "I have to go, daylight will be upon us soon." He let go of me, standing there, so he could watch me on my way. I walked down the stone steps, his gaze in my back as I began to quickly run towards the town. I felt the wind blow through my (h/c) hair as I passed by green hills covered in wildflowers.
