M/N's P.O.V
'Why did I come to this party, again?' I pondered as I stood against a navy blue wall, watching everyone have fun with their friends or drunkenly dance with their lovers. 'Oh, yeah... I remember now.' I softly smiled, hoping to see him tonight and maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to say how I truly feel.
I was one of the single, homosexual people, so I would normally have friends who'd come with me to these stupid parties, just so I wouldn't get beaten up. But tonight, Namjoon and Jimin decided to stay home and have a movie marathon night, while Taehyung and Hoseok went to a fancy restaurant to celebrate their fifth anniversary together. I couldn't possibly get angry at any of them, they all deserved some time together after the harsh exam season. The exams were brutal and I wasn't going to ruin their relaxing time by dragging them to some boring party full of people we don't know.
The few gay people that did go to Yonsei University, didn't really have a lot of friends. We were basically treated like rubbish by a majority of the kids. They would always find the time to slip us a few insults, reminding us how we were all going to Hell and how disgusting we all are for liking the gender.
It hurt, but I guess we had all slowly grown immune to it.
I glanced around the party, catching the faintest smell of cigarettes, but it was quickly drowned out by the intoxicating smell of alcohol that filled the air.
"Lee, pass me a beer!" Some boy yelled, his hands in the arm as he awaited the cold can of beer.
"On it, man!" Someone yelled back, tossing a can into the air, which luckily landed in the boy's hand and didn't hit anyone in the face like the last time.
"Dude, that was sick!" The first boy yelled, running over to his friend as he cracked open his beer. "We didn't hit anyone this time!"
"Why are we like this?" I asked no one in particular as I examined my loud and filthy surroundings. "This place is slowly becoming a pig's den." I scrunched my face up in disgust as I looked down at the floor, only to see a random piece of cheese pizza, just sitting on the wooden floor.
I let out a shaky sigh as I ran a hand through my soft (h/c) before walking away from the navy blue wall and towards the music room, I had seen when I entered the house.
'Maybe, I can get away with playing their piano, for a bit.' I mischievously thought as I made my way through the crowd of drunk and somewhat sober people, muttering excuse me, more than I probably had in my entire life.
"Watch it, b****!"A man with a deep and rough voice yelled before pushing me to the floor. I let out a small yelp of pain as my back harshly hit the wooden floor. "You got beer all over my football jer—...Oh, it's the faggot from math class!" I cringed at his words, feeling tears begin to pool in my eyes. "We better not touch him or we'll become outcasts, too!" He smirked, glaring daggers at me as I slowly stood up from the trash-covered floor.
Only a few of the other kids were genuinely nice to us, like Jungkook and Seokjin. The two of them were brothers and they were kind to everyone they met. They willingly wanted to befriend us and had even started hanging out with us whenever they weren't busy with work or assignments.
"Why are you even here?" Yuki asked, snapping me out of my daze as she looked at me up and down. "No one's gonna fall for you, you clearly lack any sort of muscle. Word of advice: no girl likes a guy with no muscles." She let out a snort while laughing, harshly hitting the toned arm of her boyfriend, Tommy, one of the foreign exchange students from North America.
"Yuki, he's gay." Tommy objected, sighing as he looked down at her. "He likes guys, meaning he's probably into me." He gave me a disgusted face before making a gagging sound, which caused his friends that had been watching to laugh.
"Oh, that's just disgusting. You know, Yoongi's here, so why don't you two go be fags somewhere else." She fumed, pointing towards the music room, where the piano should be. "And leave my boyfriend alone, he's mine." She slapped me across the face, causing me almost lose my balance, but luckily, I didn't. I sharply inhaled, trying not to start crying as a strong burning sensation spread across my cheek.
"Yoongi's been in there since the party began, playing the stupid piano that my parents own." She scoffed, grabbing her Tommy's arm and dragging him towards the dance floor. "You should join him or something!"
"Thanks..." I mumbled, holding my cheek as I watched them walk away, drunkenly stumbling over their feet.
I hurried out of the crowd, quickly walking towards the music room where Yoongi supposedly was. Hopefully, he was there, I desperately wanted to confess something. It felt like a weight had been thrown upon my chest and I needed to get it off my chest or I might just combust.
