M/N's P.O.V.
Tears streamed down my face as my whimpers filled the pitch black bathroom. I couldn't hold it in any longer. I tried so hard to keep it together for him, but I couldn't anymore. It was too painful to keep inside. I couldn't survive without him. I needed him with me. I couldn't just easily find another human like Jimin. I needed him and only him. The thought of him one day dying was too much for me. I wanted him to live a long and wonderful life, but I knew that meant he would one day die. I didn't want that to happen, but I knew I couldn't force him to become a vampire. He had to make that decision on his own. But did I really want him to become a vampire? If he did, he would one day turn on me. Just like my mother did my father. I pulled my knees to my chest, resting my head on my knees as my tears never seemed to stop. I wanted him here with me, but I didn't want to burden him with all of this so suddenly. He always told me he was there for me if I needed him, but I didn't want him to see me as weak or pathetic. I wanted to be strong for him. I wanted him to see me as someone he could rely on, so I bottled everything up.
Suddenly, there was a soft knock on the bathroom door, causing me to freeze.
"Honey, are you alright?" He asked as he softly knocked on the bathroom door once again. "You sound like you're crying." He sounded half asleep, meaning he had wondered where I was when he woke up and got up to come and find me.
"I... I'm fine." I fibbed, hoping he wouldn't worry too much. He already had so much going on at work, I didn't want to put more stressed onto him. "Go back to bed, Dear." He knocked on the door again, this time more firmly than before.
"Please, let me in." He spoke, his voice laced with concern. "Please, don't hide away from me. I'm here to help you." I slowly stood up and wiped away my tears as I walked towards the door, hoping I didn't look like a complete wreck. I unlocked the door and pulled it open, only to be immediately pulled into a hug. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling closer to his warm body.
"Let it all out, don't hold anything back." Once those words slipped off his lips, I broke down. I couldn't hold any more of it in, no matter how hard I tried to.
My sobs filled the silent air that surrounded the apartment. He rubbed my back, whispering sweet nothings into my ear as I continued to cry.
"What has you so worked up?" He asked, his voice low yet soft as he whispered into my ear. I wanted to spill everything right then and there, but I hesitated. Would he still love me if I asked him to never leave me? Would he even be able to glance my way after those words left my mouth? Pessimistic thoughts filled my head as I tensed in his embrace.
"I... I don't want you to leave me." I managed to say as I stared at the wooden floor, avoiding this gaze. "Please, don't go."
"I promise you, I'm here for you." He assured me as he let go of me and lead me to the black couch. "I always will be." I glanced around the dim hallway, seeing the photos we had taken with our friends and his family.
"But... you can't live forever," I whispered, my head resting in his shoulder as I slowly began to calm down. "You're not a vampire, Jimin." He ran his fingers through my (h/c) hair, lightly humming as he did.
"Then, we'll just have to turn me." He stated, causing me to jerk back from his embrace. "Are you alright?" He sat there on the couch, staring at me with concern.
"I can't... I can't..." I mumbled over and over, fear taking over me. I didn't want him to suffer as I did. He was so positive and bright, living forever would kill that. "I don't want to lose you." His eyes that were filled with concern were now mixed with confusion.
"I don't want to lose you either." I grabbed his hand, holding it in mine. "Turning me into a vampire wouldn't change me at all."
"Over time, it would," I told him. "I've seen it before." He gave me another confused look, his hand gripping mine.
"What do you mean? I thought you were the only vampire left." He inquired. "I'm sorry... This whole situation is confusing." I sighed, not wanting the pain from the past to come back, but it seemed it would have to.
"My father turned my mother long before I born, but she changed for the worse after she had me. She lost her mind, saying she wished she had never been turned or that she wished she never met my father." I explained, memories of my mother and father flashing through my head. "She ended up killing my father and then, herself. I was only ten when that happened." That awful night forced it's way into my mind, tearing away at the happy memories I held with my parents. My father's terrified screams, my mother's hysterical sobbing, and my heart beating at what seemed to be ten beats at once.
"Love, why didn't you tell me... I could've..." He paused, tears falling down his cheeks as he held me. "I could've helped you carry so much pain." I looked up at him, wiping away his tears as I laid my head on his chest.
"It's not your fault," I assured him, my hands resting on the sides of his face. I used my thumbs to gently wipe away the tears that continuously fell from his brown eyes. "You've already helped me so much. More than I could ever thank you for."
