M/N's P.O.V.

The pounding of my heart filled my ears as we walked to the special place he wanted to show me. I was curious, of course, but I knew if I continued to ask questions, he would be annoyed with me.
"Hope, can you at least give me a hint?" I asked as I stared at our hands that were intertwined. My cheeks couldn't help but burn as he gently gripped my hand, his thumb running over my knuckles as we walked past the fountain that sat in the middle of the college. The whole moment felt like some drama you would watch on TV. The sky was a clear blue, the flowers were in full bloom, and the sun shined beautifully on us all. It was absolutely breathtaking and incredibly cliché.

My heart seemed to pound against my chest as butterflies filled my stomach. I wanted to say how I felt right then and now, but I knew if I said one word, it would ruin our whole friendship. Three simples word could ruin so much in only matter of seconds.
"Nope!" He answered in a singsongy voice after a few minutes of not replying. "We're almost there." I nodded lightly, trying not to show my excitement. I knew I shouldn't get my hopes up. He probably was taking me to see Melissa who usually played her trumpet on the steps of the library for some quick cash. He would always dance to the music, no matter what song she was playing. He'd do the same dorky dances he did then as she played, just to make her smile before handing her a few dollars. She was a good person. She had a ton of friends, good grades, and a charming smile that could win anyone over. I knew she could easily win him over with just a simple hello and I tried not to think of that, but the thoughts continued to plague my mind as we neared the library.

"Are we going to see Melissa again?" I inquired, my voice quieter than before. I didn't dislike her, I couldn't help but feel she would be the one he would choose over me. "I didn't bring any more money with me." He glanced back at me, a frown on his face. If he could hear my thoughts, would he leave me? Would he think I'm too possessive? Would he still see me the same way he does now?
"Did she do something?" He asked, his voice filled with concern. "If she did, I can talk to—" I cut him off, giving him a fake smile to try and calm him down.
"No, I was just asking, Hoseok, don't worry," I assured him, desperately wanting him to answer my question.
"We're not going to see her." He replied, his hand tightening its grip on my hand. "She's with her girlfriend, Gabbie." Relief quickly washed over my body, but so did concern.
"Did you like her?" He let out a laugh as he abruptly stopped.

"No, of course not!" He smiled, letting go of my hand as he turned to face me. "She's my cousin!" Embarrassment covered my face as I hid my face behind my hands.
"Oh, my god! I am so, so sor—" I began to stumble on my words as I tried my best to apologize. I tried to finish my sentence, but before I could, he cut me off by placing his lips against mine. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him, a grin forming on his face as his soft lips touched mine. I closed my eyes still completely surprised by his actions as I melted into the pure kiss. He pulled away after a few more seconds, meeting my gaze as a soft smile adorned his face. (A/n: I'm a soft stan, so this is all you're gonna get is soft, pure kisses and quick cheek kisses! I'm sorry, but anything else makes me extremely uncomfortable and I'm plus a minor!)
"Well, I wanted to take you to the garden, but the library steps will have to suffice." He began, his honey-toned cheeks now tinted a dark red as he let go of my waist. "I wanted to say... I love you, (M/n)." I stood there frozen in shock. I never thought he would love me back. I always assumed he liked someone else that wasn't me. Tears flooded my eyes and fell from my (e/c) eyes, I couldn't believe it.

"I... I love you too." I whispered, causing his signature heart-shaped smile to form on his cheeks as he gently wiped away my tears. "I never thought you'd like me back..." My soft yet happy sobs filled the summer breeze as he pulled me close to him, my head now resting on his shoulder. I tried to calm down, not wanting him to see me as overdramatic, but I was so overwhelmed with the fact that he loved me back that I couldn't help but sob tears of joy.
"As cliché as this might sound, I've loved you for a long time now." I giggled at his words before softly hiccuping because of my tears. "Maybe since our first year of college..."
"You're such a dork," I mumbled as he let me out of his embrace. "Why didn't you tell me?" He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck.
"I was scared to see your reaction." He mumbled, giving me a shy smile. "I thought you would reject me." I gave him a small smile as I wiped away the tears stains that covered my cheeks.
"I wouldn't have rejected you. I would've said yes and grinned like a goofball." I assured him, holding his hands in mine. He giggled at my words, leaning in and pecking my lips once more before grabbing my hand and leading me to the garden area once again.
