M/N's P.O.V
"Thank you for having me, Your Majesty. I really do appreciate your kindness." I remarked, bowing once again to show my gratitude. He gave me a soft smile as he signaled for me to stop bowing and stand up.
"Well, I do appreciate a gentleman, but you don't have to do that every time." He told me, his eyes examining me up and down. I felt embarrassed all of a sudden. Embarrassed his eyes were studying every inch of my armor-covered body. "I like him already... You choose a good one, Namjoon. I'm glad I trusted your judgment." He looked away from me and glanced over at Namjoon who was standing next to me, messing with a loose string in his shirt. He stopped fiddling with the string and looked up at Seokjin, nodding at his words.
"You're welcome, Your Majesty." He stated, taking a quick bow. "May I be excused?" Namjoon walked up to Seokjin, whispering in his ear before earning a nod.
"Of course, spend some time with your family," Seokjin spoke as he lightly patted Namjoon on the back. "Enjoy your time off, Joon." Namjoon smiled before quickly turning away from us and walking towards the door that we entered through earlier.
Once the door slammed behind him, Seokjin turned his gaze towards me once again.
"Areum, can I have you something?" He asked as he slowly got closer to me, his face empty of emotion, but his brown eyes were burning with curiosity.
"Of course!" I answered, my cheeks beginning to heat up as he continued to get closer. "What did you want to ask me?" I tried to continue talking, not wanting him to see that him getting closer was affecting me. He was a few inches away from me, his chest just barely touching mine. I could practically feel his warm breath on my neck as his soft hair tickled my forehead.
"Do you think I didn't notice your red cheeks when you first looked at me?" He inquired, his voice hoarse as he whispered into my ear. "It was quite obvious..., but it was cute..." My heart nearly stopped as his words contained to replay in my head. This couldn't be true. This all had to be some lucid dream that I would eventually wake up from.
He backed away from me, smirking as he saw my flustered face.
"I have some important matters to handle, would you like to join me?" He asked, looking down at me. I nodded, speechless after what just happened. "Thank you. I like the company, it keeps me from going insane." I softly laughed, still wondering if what happened a few minutes ago was even real or did I just imagine the whole thing?
"Where to first, Your Majesty?" I asked, wondering where he would be leading me to.
"Well, first things first, you can call me Seokjin. No need to be so formal." He stated as he began to walk towards another door that was in the long corridor. "Plus, if we'll be spending a lot of time together, I would like to become friends with you, (M/n)." I nodded, understanding where he was coming from. He must've been lonely when his servants weren't around, so he probably wanted someone to keep him company while he ran errands. I finally understood why he wanted a new general. The last one didn't want anything to do with him, so that's why Namjoon choose me. He knew I would befriend the king and want to converse with him.
"I would like to become friends with you as well, Seokjin," I remarked, walking beside him as he made his way towards the doors at the beginning of the long corridor.
"I've heard a lot about you from Namjoon." He remarked, trying to kill the silence that kept surrounding us. "You seem to be a nice person, I hope that's true, Areum." I nodded, wanting to live up to the expectations that he had formed for me.
"I would like to think I'm a nice person if I don't seem like one, I apologize," I whispered as silence embraced as again, allowing us to only hear the squeaking of my armor.
"You seem nice." He muttered, his confidence that he had before quickly diminishing. "You also are very cute, I'll give you that." He chuckled as he held the door open for me. I stood there not daring to walk through the door.
"Seokjin, you must walk through the door first." I stated, not wanting to get beat for not obeying orders. "It's a rule." He shook his head, sighing at my words.
"I don't know what went on at your old kingdom, but I can assure you things are different here." He told me, still holding the door open for me. "I would like to say I'm pretty down to earth, I don't get how kings can be so mean to their subjects..."
