M/N's P.O.V.
After a few weeks of being in Nydilaclya, it seemed as everything was perfect and nothing ever went wrong in the sunshine-filled kingdom. It was fun and exciting to look around and get to meet new people for the first week, but after a while, it started to get tedious doing nothing but train and meet up with His Majesty and the few people I hadn't met yet. I wanted to capture thieves, stop people from hurting the King, and return stolen goods to the elderly when someone had tried to steal their coin sack. I wanted to feel the thrill of being a knight again, but that thrill was gone and replaced with boredom and repetitiveness. Questions and theories filled my head about what possibly could be going on here in Nydilaclya, but I wouldn't dare say my queries aloud. I had seen someone once make that mistake and it did not end well for them. They lost everything they had; their home, their belongings, everything. I couldn't risk that. I had worked too hard to be where I am today and I don't want my entire life work to be ruined by a few words that had slipped off my tongue.
"(M/n), did you hear what I said?" Seokjin asked, his voice was soft and filled with concern as he spoke. Once his words, registered in my mind, I was dragged out of my thoughts once again by his soothing voice. "Are you alright?" I nodded as my cheeks flushed a shade of light pink. I can't keep drifting off like this, I have to be on alert 24/7 or something might happen without me knowing it.
"I'm fine," I replied, trying to focus on the paperwork he had given me to help him on. I squinted my eyes in confusion and wondered why we needed more shipments of medicine when we already had an entire doctor who was stocked for the next two months. "Sir, why do we have more shipments of medicine coming in?" He snapped his head towards me, his mouth agape as he stared at me for a moment. He abruptly stood up from his chair before he quickly made his way to me and grabbed the paper from my hands. His eyes scanned the paper as his face slowly turned pale and his knuckles turned white from gripping the paper so tightly.
"Sir, are you alright?" I inquired, concern spread across my face as I stared at him. "Would you like me to take you to your quarters?" He nodded as he set the paper down and turned towards me.
"I'm suddenly not feeling too well." He mumbled as he placed a hand to his head. "I can't believe this..." I stood up from my chair and stood in front of him.
"Do you want me to carry you, Sir? Or do you want to lean on me for support?" I questioned, desperately needing to know how sickly he was. He just nodded and leaned against me, his head laid on my shoulder as he stood there.
"Carry me, please..." His words barely came out as a whisper, but I somehow managed to hear him. I nodded and carefully picked him up, not wanting to drop him and injure the man I had sworn to protect with my life. He rested his head on my chest as I began to walk out of the study and towards his room that was at the end of the hall.
"What did the paper say, Your Majesty?" I knew I shouldn't keep asking questions, but so many filled my head that they slipped out of my head and onto my tongue before I could stop them.
"There's an awful plague going around... It's heading towards us now." He muttered tears filled his eyes as I closed the door behind me and began to make my way down the hall. "I don't want my people to die, (M/n)... I don't you to die." I felt my heart skip a beat at his words that were full of fear and uncertainty.
"I promise you, Seokjin, I'm not going to die anytime soon." I tried my best to assure him that I would leave him, but I only got a small smile from him as his eyes fluttered closed.
"You finally called me by my real name." He remarked as his hands gripped my navy blue tunic. I smiled a bit as I pushed open his bedroom door.
"I shall stand watch outside of your bedroom," I stated, knowing he probably didn't want me to watch him while he slept. "Do you need anything else?" He shook his head as I laid him onto his queen-sized bed, his face still as pale as it was early.
"Would you—... Never mind." He cut himself off, not daring to meet my gaze.
"Are you sure?" I asked, wondering if what he wanted to say was something I needed to know. He hesitated for a moment before looking up at me, his eyes pooling with emotion.
"Would you lay with me?" He asked as he stared at me, his eyes reminding me of a puppy's.
