WHEN HE DIDN'T SHOWED UP ON A DATE

You brushed your thumb over the send button at the right side of the screen after typing the last text to Hoseok as you let out an uneven breath, hindering your face inside your palms after slinging your phone on the table, your heart wholly yearning to cry out.

This isn’t the first time he has ditched a date with you but it was the fifth or sixth time he has cast aside a date with you, this was undeniably germane for you before today marked the whole six months since you two were together but he didn’t show up just like he did last time defending himself with a justification that he has to convene an urgent meeting at the last jiff and on the other time he stated that he was busy with some work.

He has always been buttoned up but you were striving to do your best with your relationship and he has been doing exactly the contrary but this is the last straw.

You surely were desiring some time for yourself and wanted to let all the stifled stuff out of your heart which you were holding to yourself for the past couple of months and the work pressure was just a cherry on the top.

You have always endeavored to a tee in this relationship with him and of course, it wasn’t like he hasn’t acknowledged it but at the same time he hasn’t taken it into consideration.

You have already grasped that he is engaged in his office work but at the minimum, he could have told you that he won’t be able to make an appearance on the date.

You try to ignore his mistakes till now and today you don’t have any idea what you will do at the end of the day but you are not going home today and waiting for him to come home, asking him where he was and then listening to his excuses and apologies.

You were the only one left in the eatery as the dining which you ordered an hour ago was now frigid and untouched.

Your eyes were watery and teardrops were trying to shove out of your eyes like they were suffocating in there as your eyes traveled throughout the place, you gazed at the server sauntering towards your sedentary.

Whipping your face back at the table, you blinked the hot liquid away from your eyes.

You heard the server say, “I am sorry, Miss but it’s time to close the restaurant.” You nodded looking at him with a half-smile on your visage, “Yeah, I am sorry for wasting your time. I will take my leave now.” You placed the cash on the table more than required as you made your way out of there with your glittery black clutch holding wobbly in your hands.

Stepping outside the frigid gust of wind accompanied your face but you eventually closed your eyes for a jiffy before sauntering towards the footpath which was located across the road. It was already midnight so there weren’t many individuals around, that’s what you wanted, a peaceful atmosphere.

A lone tear escaped your eyes but you wiped it off immediately but another tear accompanied the first one as you continued walking alongside the road and to your side you took in the sound of the swinging of the waves reaching from the sea shore. It is the only thing which can calm your exhausted physique.

You stepped on the sand as the heels you were wearing were making it difficult for you to make your way towards the salty water. You took off your heels, feeling the gritty sand beneath your feet as you ambled nigh the sea.

Hoseok was driving back home to his office when he got a glimpse of a restaurant which made him recollect the sentences which you told him over the call saying you will be waiting for him at the sea side restaurant as it’s your 6 months dating each other.

“Sh*t!” Hoseok cursed under his breath. As he sped up the speed of his car and steered towards the restaurant which was in the countryside but not so far away from his office. His phone was on silent so he couldn’t check your messages.

“Hoseok, This is the fifth time you are forgetting our date. I don’t know what I will tell Y/N this time. Why are you like this?” He asked himself, he was ashamed of himself and feeling guilty over his mistakes he was committing over and over from the past six months.

He glanced at his phone which was deposited on the passenger’s seat. Taking a hold onto the device he saw the notification of your messages as he glanced at him, your messages acknowledged him that you were angry at him and this time it won’t be easy to get your forgiveness because it’s a high time now.

Hoseok reached the restaurant when he saw the servers shutting down as they were cleaning up everything inside there and placing the dishes back inside the kitchen. The door was closed as he looked inside the whole area through the glass windows and dialed your number. Your phone buzzed which was placed on the table as you forgot to take it with you.

The server’s eyes discerned your phone on the table as he took it, “Oh! She forgot her phone here.” Server said to himself before picking up the call while Hoseok watched him doing so through the glass window.

“Hello!” The server said as Hoseok said, “Hi, I am standing outside the restaurant. Can you please give me the phone?” The server nodded, “Yes, of course sir.” The server unlocked the door as he came out and looked at Hoseok, “I am Hoseok.” The server nodded as he remembered the same name which appeared when hoseok called on your phone.

The server handed your phone to Hoseok as he grasped onto it and asked, “Do you know where she went?” The server shook his head, “No sir, actually. She was looking really upset as her partner didn’t show up for the date.” Hoseok was feeling miserable after letting in this information. He asked, “When did she leave?” The server said, “Not much time ago. I think about 10 minutes ago. I saw crossing the road but then I don’t know where she went.”

Hoseok breathed as you said a “Thank you” before crossing over the road as he chased the footpath alongside the sea shore. Whipping his head in all directions in search of your figure. A shadowy figure discerned in front of his eyes who was walking alongside the sea while wobbling her heels in the left hand while wiping her tears every now and then.

“Y/N…” Hoseok whispered after letting in your physique when he felt it was you. He flashed to the entrance of the sea before rushing towards the inky figure who was advancing her steps away from him.

You felt a grip on your wrist when you were about to take another step and in reflex you whipped your head behind to look who it was. You let in a glimpse of Hoseok who had guilt plastered over his face but sighed in relief when he got you.

You could see his face in the moonlight as well as the pole light which was standing at a certain distance gleaming the area on which you were standing.

He pulled you to himself the moment after he saw your face, He was surely distressed after he ditched you on the date as well as not able to find you in the acknowledged restaurant. For a moment you forgot about your date when you felt his arms around your body, securely wrapping his arms.

You shoved yourself away from him as his hands dangled on either side of his body, “Y/N-” He whispered but you cut him off, “Don’t! I had enough of it, Hoseok. You always do that.”

Hoseok tried, “Please listen to me.” You shouted, “I always do that. You always speak and I always hear your excuses, that you were busy. Today I won’t.”

Tears brimming your eyes again as you let them out, “Do you know how many times you have ditched me? Today marked the fifth time.”

He tried to hold your hand as you yanked his hand away while weeping but he again held your hand but this time you gave in, in his touch as he pulled your crying figure closer to himself, “I hate you.” You cried as you threw some fists on his chest as your heels fell down on the sand but he wrapped your hands around his figure.

Placing soft kisses on the crown of your head as you rested your face on his chest. He mumbled a lot of sorrys from time to time until you calmed down.

“I am really sorry, Y/N. I didn’t want to upset you and this time I won’t try to present any excuse in front of you because I know I am wrong. I am ready to do anything for your forgiveness.” Hoseok stated while embracing you in his arms.

You broke the hug as you gazed in his dark orbs, “I wanna go on a date now.” You said as he bit his lower lip with his teeth as he looked around and gazed at the restaurant which was at a distance as its lights turned off in a blink of an eye but his eyes went to the ice cream truck which was steering in front of them on the road.

He said, “Wait here, I will be back.” He sprinted towards the ice cream truck as you gazed at his retreating figure as he escaped the place and finally halted the ice cream truck.

“One Vanilla and one cookie and cream please.” He let out a few uneven breaths as the ice cream man nodded. He has ordered your favorite cookies and cream.

The ice cream man handed him the required ice creams. Hoseok took out his wallet and paid for it before scurrying back to your figure.

You saw him scampering towards you while holding two corns of ice creams in his hands, “Here.” He said handling a corn to you.

He respired, “We can go on an ice cream date.” A mild smile formed on your face as you took a glance at him and then at ice cream. You jumped into his arms happily like a kid, his gesture literally made your heart warm, “I am sorry.” He whispered, wrapping his hands around you as you whispered, “It’s okay. Thank you.” You both broke the hug, enjoying your ice cream date together walking together hand in hand alongside the beach as you gazed at his profile and he gazed at your visage in the moonlight, gleaming your face.

“I love you.” Hoseok said to which you reciprocated, “Love you too.” You pecked his lips before he pulled you in a warm kiss. “Your flavor tastes good.”
