Taehyung has been the boss ever since his father passed. Whenever something doesn't go his way, he either sends people to fix the problem or goes himself. Everyone was afraid of him. He had full control. Whoever got on his bad side ended up missing.

Sarah is a normal college student who has two jobs to pay for her classes. She enjoys her life. She never complained about wanting to quit or give up. Which is why she caught Taehyung's attention.

He was doing some business at the school when he noticed a beautiful girl passing by him. The same girl that has been on his mind for the past two weeks. He began to follow her until he saw some girl bumping into her, causing her to drop her books.

"Watch it freak", the girl said.

Other people around her began to laugh. Taehyung didn't like it one bit so he charged his way over towards her, pushing a few of them away. He stood before the girl who pushed her and held onto the collar of her shirt.

"Apologize", he ordered.

"M-Mr. Kim I-", she got cut off by Taehyung pulling her roughly towards Sarah.

"I said apologize", he repeated once again.

The girl fixed her shirt before meeting eyes with Sarah, glaring at her with her jaw clenched.

"I'm sorry", she muttered.

"Good. If I see you ever hurting her or even lay eyes on her, I won't hesitate to mess up that pretty little face of yours. And that goes for everyone. Got that?", Taehyung warned her as he glared at her.

The girl nodded and ran towards the other direction. The crowd dispersed. Taehyung walked over towards Sarah and offered a hand to help her up. She hesitated but grabbed his hand either way. He picked up her books and handed them to her. She didn't say anything, she just walked away with her head down.

"I believe a thank you is in order", Taehyung said.

"Uh..thanks", she said.

A few days later, he showed up at the school to see if he can find her. As he roamed through the halls, the college students stared at him and made sure they weren't in his way. He stopped walking once he saw a familiar brown bag with colorful buttons. He walked towards her and noticed she was holding a bunch of books.

"Here let me help", he grabbed her books and made sure she wasn't carrying anything heavy.

"I..you don't have to do that", she said.

"I know. Now where to?", Taehyung asked, walking forward.

"Actually...it's the other way", she said, pointing the opposite direction.

"..right", Taehyung chuckled and corrected himself.

While walking, he made conversation. She felt a bit uncomfortable and was confused on why Taehyung, a guy who is unbelievably in control and scary and has no interest in anyone unless it's beating the crap out of them, is all of a sudden interested in her.

"Here's good", Sarah said, getting the books from his arms.

"You taking the bus?", Taehyung asked.

"Yeah", she answered.

"How far do you live? I can give you a ride. My car is right over there", Taehyung said, pointing across the street.

"...you're not gonna like...try to kidnap me, are you?", she asked.

"No. I just don't trust the people around here. Come on, I'll get you something to eat. You must be hungry", Taehyung said, grabbing her books.

She followed him towards his car. She was still a bit skeptical but he's the first person in the past two years who has been nice to her.

The drive was silent. Her hands kept tapping on her lap. Her eyes slowly shifted over to see his face. She always thought that a mafia boss would look scary. He just looks like a normal adult. His father on the other hand had a bunch of tattoos and scars and his body was built. Taehyung was the opposite of that.

When they arrived at a restaurant, Taehyung told the owner to give him the private room in the back so Sarah wouldn't be uncomfortable with people staring. He pulled out the chair for her and waited for her to sit down.

"So, What are you studying?", he asked.

"Marine Biology", she said.

"Wow, that's amazing. How many years do you have left?", he asked.

"I'm barely on my fourth semester", she answered.

"Interesting", he smiled.

"Um..can I ask you something? I hear a lot about you and things that make me slightly uncomfortable. Why are you all of a sudden interested in me?", she asked.

"I'm not sure. I was hoping I can find out. Even I find it strange", he said, smiling afterwards before continuing to eat his food.

"Thanks again for the food. I promise I'll pay you back", Sarah said.

"Don't worry about it. I'm sure you're under enough stress of paying off your classes", he smiled.

He was about to open the car door for her until a group of guys headed their way. Taehyung pushed her behind him, creating a barrier to protect her.

"Well look what we found. Trash that needs to be taken out", the guy smirked as the others surrounded them.

"Didn't I warn you not to show your face again?? Or shall I have to remind you?", Taehyung muttered.

The guy laughed coldly and took out a pocket knife. Taehyung tried to keep an eye on all four of them.

"What? You scared?", the guy asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm not", Taehyung replied.

The guy's eyes went from Taehyung to Sarah. He tried getting a good look but Taehyung prevented him from doing so.

"Ahh, it's because of her right? Is she your girlfriend?", he asked.

"That's none of your business. Now I advise you to leave before you get another scar on that face of yours", Taehyung muttered.

"Hm", the guy glanced at his friends.

One of them grabbed Sarah's wrist but Taehyung quickly kicked his stomach. The other guy took that chance to punch Taehyung. Sarah screamed but the leader of the group covered her mouth and held the pocket knife to her neck. Taehyung wiped the blood from his mouth and glared at the guy.

"If you hurt her, I'll kill you with my two hands", Taehyung muttered.

"I was thinking about your sister. Remember the way she screamed when I cut each of her fingers off? The way she cried for you to save her? Too bad she was already dead when you got to her", the guy smirked and laughed evilly.

Taehyung was breathing heavily as he wanted to beat the crap out of him but knew if he moved, he'll slit her throat.

"What do you want?", Taehyung asked him.

"I want you to step down as the Mafia boss. And I want to step in. Agree with that and your little girlfriend leaves unharmed. I promise", he said.

Taehyung glanced at Sarah and noticed tears in her eyes. He had just started to get to know her and already scarred her with something this terrifying.

"Fine. I'll step down. I won't intervene", Taehyung said.

"Hmm..you know what's funny about promises?", the guy asked.

He took the knife and stabbed Sarah right on her stomach, Taehyung's eyes widening.

"They're not always meant to be kept", the guy smirked and threw her on the floor before fleeing off with his friends.

Taehyung kneeled down and put pressure on the wound. Too much blood was coming out. He carried her and carefully placed her in his car. He didn't care about the speed limit. He just cared if he can save Sarah.
