Kim Taehyung •Angel•
Kim Taehyung didn't particularly like the fact that he was a filthy rich man for his age. Life was nothing but a bore for him during the day. His daily life consisted of sitting in an office, signing paper work, and talking to potential business partners. It wasn't until the bright sky turned dark with stars illuminating through the darkness that his life become somewhat of a joyous occasion. It was almost an everyday thing to go drinking alone at a nearby bar, spending his money drowning himself in alcohol that calmed his nerves and allowed him to destress.
It was easy for him to pick up women... almost too easy that it became boring and almost routine. Just the way he dressed up screamed money when he sat alone at a bar. A rich lifestyle and a handsome face attracted women as if he were a human magnet. Unfortunately for them, he merely bought them a couple drinks and left with them for the rest of the night, which consisted of lust and pure bliss.
He sat in his usual spot in the bar, both arms resting on the bar top with one elbow propped up as he lazily held up a small clear glass loosely in his fingers. Frequently, he would take a small sip of his expensive scotch and scan the room in boredom. The brown-haired man didn't know why he would do this every night. He wanted to put his money to good use but he had absolutely no idea how.
Feeling a tap on his shoulder, he tilted his head to the side to see a female presence. She was a beauty with her red dress that hugged her waist and had a relatively lower cut compared to other dresses. He didn't ignore the bright red lipstick she wore, drawing attention to her lips that were parted into a small smirk. He knew exactly what the woman wanted... but he didn't want to give it to her. He was fed up with his life and he showed it when a scowl graced itself on his face, causing the woman to roll her eyes and walk away.
This was an example of how a rich life doesn't mean a happy life. He wanted to help someone, fall in love, or travel. That's all Taehyung ever wanted but his life was too routine and repetitive. There wasn't even time for him to put any effort into achieving such desires because all he does is hang out in a bar during the night time. Slamming his glass cup down on the bar in frustration, the bartender eyed him in confusion, causing Taehyung to huff. He then placed some money on the bar top and walked toward the exit.
Once he was outside, he felt the light breeze of the night tickle his face and it calmed him just as much as a good glass of scotch. Taehyung then decided to take a walk around Seoul, even adding a risk factor in his stroll by venturing to the run down parts of the lively city. As he was walking down a street that had nothing but litter and graffiti on the walls, he heard a malicious voice near the entrance of the upcoming alley.
"Where's the rest of the money?!" The same male voice demanded. Taehyung was going to ignore it until he heard the soft voice of a girl respond with slight fear in her tone, "I-I'm halfway there... I just need more time."
He leaned his back on the wall near the entrance of the alley and peeked his head out a bit to catch sight of the situation. There he saw a tall and relatively handsome man with a noticeable tattoo on his neck peeking from beneath his jacket, two buff men behind him, and a younger girl staring at the man towering over her. He was intimidating to say the least and Taehyung wondered how she got herself involved with a man like that.
The man with the tattoos darkly chuckled at the girl and moved closer to her, causing her back to hit the wall behind her. Taehyung could tell she was trying to keep herself together and not let fear make her vulnerable. The man then said, "Oh (Y/N)... you're making me angry." He leaned his face closer to hers and the girl named (Y/N) turned her head to the side as his warm breath fanned her cheek.
He let out another dark chuckle and continued on by saying, "Since I like you so much, I'll make you a deal," the man leaned away from her and placed his arm above her head on the wall as she turned her face to look him in the eye, "I wasn't going to tell you this until later, but your sister stole some valuable possessions from another one of my guys."
(Y/N)'s eyes widened and a smirk played its way onto the man's lips. Not breaking eye contact with her, he said, "You already know this increases your sister's debt, so I want the rest of what you owe for the week and the amount your sister stole by tomorrow."
The girl shook her head and finally replied, "You know I can't do that. That's at least two thousand dollars and you know damn well my part-time jobs can't cover that much in one day." He puffed out his lips in a playful pout and patted her head, causing her to grimace while saying, "And you have university to attend to tomorrow. I wish you luck, sweetheart."
In less than a second, his facial expression turned serious and he pulled out his pocket knife, flipping it open with his thumb and placing the blade on the girl's cheek. She froze and he leaned his body on hers, his fingers trailing to the buttons of her shirt. He unbuttoned the first two buttons, revealing her cleavage and he smirked while whispering in her ear, "If it's too difficult for you... You can always repay me with your body."
(Y/N) felt the blade press deeper into her cheek and she immediately knew it would leave a mark on her unblemished face. Her expression contorted into disgust at what he said and she hissed, "Go to hell." He let out a menacing laugh and took the knife off her skin. Stepping back, he eyed her from head to toe and said with his eyes lingering on her chest, "Two thousand dollars by tomorrow night... or you're gonna repay your sister's debt my way."
Turning towards the two men behind him, he muttered a 'let's go' and walked down the other side of the alley to their expensive looking cars. The girl waited until they completely disappeared from her sight and released a breath that she didn't realize she was holding. Placing a hand on her forehead, she heaved a heavy sigh and tried holding in her tears but to no avail. She hated the fact that she cried every night. If only her little sister didn't get herself involved with people who did drugs, she wouldn't have to pay off such a debt her sister couldn't even pay on her own.
Finally containing herself, she buttoned up her shirt all the way to the top and leaned her back on the wall, closing her eyes for a moment. Taehyung was shocked at what he had just witnessed. He knew the girl was innocent and didn't deserve what was happening to her. Two thousand dollars was barely a fraction of what he earns and it was then he realized people like her struggle to even make half of that amount. He then knew his wishes came true when the idea to help her came in his mind.
Taehyung stared at her attire from afar for a moment, noticing it's the same uniform employees wear at a diner near the company he works in. He snapped out of his thoughts when he saw her shuffle a bit, then begin walking the opposite way down the alley. His eyes softened a bit at her slow and shaking form as he watched her back. Sighing to himself, he waited until she was further away before he kept his distance and walked behind her.
The least he could do is make sure she got home safely.

The diner smelled of coffee beans and eggs even though it was the afternoon. The bell of the door jingled and (Y/N) looked up from her notepad, a pleased expression crossing her features when she saw there was a new customer. She scanned his features and attire from afar before approaching him, almost feeling intimidated from his handsome face and fancy outfit. Clearing her throat, she walked towards the booth he sat in and stopped next to him, pulling her notepad up and close to her chest.
The man noticed her and was very pleased to see her as his waitress. He gave her a warm box-like smile and and stared up at her from his seat. She felt so vulnerable just from his gaze but she brushed it off before asking, "What can I get you today, sir?" He looked down at the menu for a moment and simply said, "One cup of coffee."
Nodding, she wrote down his order and then asked, "For here or to go?" The man stared at her for a moment before disregarding what she asked and instead asking, "What happened to your face?" Her eyes slightly widened as she brought her fingers to the bandaid that she put on her cheek to cover the cut she received the night before.
Gulping, she replied, "It's nothing... for here or to go?"
•••
Taehyung was on his third cup of coffee, watching (Y/N)'s every move as she served. He could tell the smile she gave customers was completely fake and that she was probably in pain from the dread of making a payment to a man that wasn't even from her own debt. He didn't know much about her but in a way... he admired her. From what he heard from the previous night, she is trying to keep her sister from getting hurt by making paying off her debt for her.
He stared off into space until he realized (Y/N) was in front of him again with a pot of coffee in her grasp. Smiling down at him, she asked, "More coffee?" Taehyung shook his head and replied, "Just the check." Nodding, she walked off and Taehyung still kept shamelessly eyeing her. (Y/N) was aware of it the whole time.
Walking back to his booth, she gave him the check and he simply held his card in between his middle and index finger, as if he's done this a million times without a worry of how much money he is spending. After (Y/N) finished swiping the card, she handed it back to the rich man and smiled, "Have a nice day, sir." He simply nodded and waited until she went into a room behind the register to grab cleaning supplies.
Opening his wallet, he placed two thousand dollars that he cashed that morning on the table, making sure to hide it from anyone else's view. From there, he exited the diner, wishing he could see her reaction.
She noticed he left and had a rag and spray bottle in her hand, intending to clean up the table even though he didn't leave a mess whatsoever. Wiping the table in a circular motion, (Y/N)'s sharp eyes caught something green and she dropped her rag on the table, seeing the dozens of bills folded in half. Picking up the money, she looked around for a moment before counting every single bill, adding it in her head. A light gasp escaped her lips as she realized it all added up to two thousand dollars... just what she needed to survive another week.
After her mind wrapped around the idea of a huge bundle of cash that laid in between her fingers, she realized her last customer must have misplaced the money. He was obviously rich just by looking at his appearance and although it can be assumed he isn't losing much, she still felt uneasy about taking the money to pay off her death.
With urgency, she jogged out of the diner and onto the side walk, looking around for a tall, brown-haired man in a nice suit. She spotted his back as he walked slowly with his hands in his pocket. Disregarding the weird looks she was receiving from strangers, (Y/N) bolted towards him. Yelling the word 'hey,' he turned around in curiosity and saw the girl running towards him. Widening his eyes, Taehyung tried ignoring her by turning back around and walking away. However, she grabbed onto his arm, spinning him around to face her.
He got goosebumps from her touch and he stared down at her as (Y/N) was bent over, grabbing her knees and panting. After calming herself down, she held out the folded cash to him and said, "I think... You left this." Taehyung grimaced at the sight of the cash and then met her eyes. His gaze softened as he tried figuring out this girl. Any selfish person would keep the money... but she wanted to return it even though she absolutely needed it.
Taehyung put up his hand, gesturing for her to stop as he said, "No worries, keep the money." She tilted her head at the tall man and her eyes shifted to the money in her hand, slightly moving it around in her fingers as if it were a foreign object. Meeting his eyes again, she replied, "I... I can't take this."
Biting his lip for a moment, he sighed and asked, "Why not?" (Y/N) shifted uncomfortably, not knowing how to respond. Without a warning, Taehyung placed his large hand on the one she used to hold the money. Her mouth fell slightly agape as she looked up at him confusingly. He gave her a small close-mouthed smile and said, "Please... take it. I know you'll use it right."
(Y/N) was speechless. It's as if this stranger was an angel that was sent to help her. She desperately needed this money and come to find out, she got what she needed so easily. Then questioning thoughts ran through her mind. Did he perhaps know what was happening in her life? Is he a selfless man and found out about her situation? Or is this a test? She couldn't pinpoint what the answers may be, but she bowed to him nonetheless, showing her utmost gratitude.
"Thank you so much, sir... I can't tell you how much I appreciate this," she exclaimed, still bowing to him. He let out a soft chuckle and said, "Call me Taehyung. Sir sounds too formal and makes me seem old." Standing up straight, she smiled sheepishly and nodded. She was wearing a name tag, so (Y/N) assumed it was pointless to introduce herself.
Looking at his watch, Taehyung let out a heavy sigh and said with dread laced in his tone, "Well, I have to go. I hope to see you again, (Y/N)."
Watching his back as he walked away, it was as if a ray of light was shining down on him and an imaginary halo was floating above his head.

She paced back and forth, exhaling a deep breath as she waited for her torturer to arrive. However, (Y/N) wasn't dreading it as much this time because she finally had a suitable payment for him. The alley was dark and the night left an eerie feeling. The sudden gusts of wind caused the area to feel chilly, making her hug her coat closer to her body. She heard heavy footsteps coming her way and turning her head to the left, she saw three men approaching her. The girl could even distinguish that all too familiar smirk that always graced itself on his lips when he was around her.
"Baby," he said seductively as he held out his arms while walking closer towards her, "You're not going to disappoint me today, right?" She shook her head and he clapped his hands and continued, "That's my girl!" He opened his arms again and gave her a playful stare while still smirking. She understood he wanted a hug, but there was no way in hell she would submit herself to do something like that with a man she despised.
Pouting, he crossed his arms across his chest and said, "This makes me sad, baby. All I want is some affection from you. Can't you at least give me that?" (Y/N) gulped but refused to show him she was afraid. Instead, she walked up to him and stared up at him, resisting the urge to turn away, "I've given you enough."
His smirk slowly turned into a frown and the narrowing of his eyes showed he was back to business. Clenching his jaw, his voice turned husky when asking, "Where's my money?" He held out his hand and (Y/N) reached into her coat pocket and took out the bundle of cash.
He counted each and every bill and by the time he finished, he whistled and looked at her for a moment before saying, "Good girl... But I'm curious," the man put the money in his pocket and stepped towards her until her back hit the wall. She gulped and he caressed her cheek for a moment before meeting her eyes again and asking, "What sexual favors did you do to get all of this money?"
Her mouth fell agape at his question. She could hardly breathe thinking about how this man thought so lowly of her. He was disgusting and she was tempted to slap the shit out of him. Instead, (Y/N) replied, "How fucking dare you assume something like that. I'm a hard worker, unlike your lazy ass who just orders people around and gets money from it," his jaw tightened and he looked away from her. She continued, "People look at you like you're a god, but you're nothing but a lowlife piece of-" she was cut off when his hand wrapped around her throat, squeezing it enough to leave her breathless.
He spat with menace laced in his tone, "Who the fuck influenced you to talk to me like that?" She gasped for air, grabbing his hands to let go of her throat. The man smiled psychotically at her suffering expression and said, "I've been so nice to you... but now you've crossed the line. I'm doubling your sister's debt and you're going to be stuck dealing with me for a long time." He tilted his head for a moment to get a look at her expression before releasing his grasp and watching her drop to the ground.
She held her neck and gasped for air, wheezing and keeping her gaze on the ground. He kneeled down to her level and stared at her gasping. Grabbing her chin roughly, he said, "We're going to see each other tomorrow and you're going to give me five thousand dollars... only a fraction of what your sister owes," (Y/N) breathed heavily while forcibly looking at him. He leaned towards her ear and whispered, "Got it?" The man didn't receive a response, so he pulled away and made her nod using his hand.
Releasing her roughly, he stood up and walked away with the three men, leaving her to continue breathing heavily. She rose her hands and looked at her palms, which were shaking nonstop. This time, she finally allowed herself to cry on the ground of the alley.
Kim Taehyung saw the whole thing from start to finish. As the meeting progressed, his face turned red with fury and he had to suppress the urge to make long strides to the guy and kick his ass. He resisted the strong temptation but he will not forget the events that happened at that meeting. She did not deserve that and Taehyung was going to do everything in his power to help her.

That night he followed her to make sure she got home safely and the following morning, he visited his bank. After that, he went to the diner early in the morning and was already well aware she wouldn't be there because he assumed she had university during the morning. When he walked in, he saw what seemed to be the manager and he approached her with a charming smile.
She turned to him and slightly blushed at his friendly appearance while asking, "Wh-What can I get you, sir?" He put one arm on the counter and leaned towards her, causing her to get even more flustered as he asked, "I was hoping you could do me a favor."
The woman blinked a few times and finally regained her state of mind when asking, "What kind of favor?" Taehyung gave her a flirtatious smile and explained, "I need you to keep (Y/N) after her shift for a while."
She slightly frowned and rose her eyebrow in suspicion, asking, "Why would I need to do that?" The tall man thought he could win her over just by talking to her but he was mistaken, so he immediately formed a coherent lie in his mind and said, "You see, I'm her boyfriend and I have a surprise for her tonight, but I need time to get everything ready. So I would really appreciate it if you kept her working for about an hour later."
The woman stared at him for a moment, pursing her lips together and staying silent. Sighing, Taehyung pulled out a bundle of cash and placed it on the counter and saying, "Just don't tell her I came by." Smirking, the woman nodded and he gave her a satisfied smile.

The night was cold and eerie, the pieces of litter and waste rolling around from the wind at Taehyung's feet. In normal circumstances, he would never hang out in an alley like this but he had a purpose and he was dedicated to fulfilling it. Checking his watch, he knew the time was about to approach and he let out a shaky breath, hoping everything will work out.
Taehyung heard the heavy footsteps approaching and saw the three men, the one in the middle eyeing him. Once the tattooed man neared him, he asked with anger laced in his tone, "Who the fuck are you?" Taehyung was taken aback by his straightforward question but nonetheless stepped forward.
"I'm here to make a deal." The intimidating man narrowed his eyes angrily at him, immediately exclaiming, "I don't care about your fucking deal. Where's (Y/N)?" Taehyung stepped forward and gave him a small smirk, not being wavered by his aggression, "This deal involves (Y/N)."
Now the man was slightly interested and he titled his head to the side a bit, examining Taehyung for any change in expression. When he detected nothing, he said, "I'm listening..." Inwardly smiling in satisfaction, Taehyung took out an envelope and lifted it up, "There is a million dollars in here. Take the money and leave (Y/N) alone."
Scoffing at the rich man, the other replied, "That won't be enough to cover the cost of her sister's increasing debt in the future." Taehyung simply shrugged and replied, "Then I'll give you my number and you can call me when it comes to that." The tattooed man narrowed his eyes at the envelope and held out his hand, signaling for him to hand it over. The tall man did so and the other opened it, counting each and every bill.
The tattooed man looked at Taehyung and asked, "Who are you anyway?" He simply shrugged and gave him a card that had his phone number and replied, "Just leave her alone and you get your money. Deal?"
Taehyung held out his hand and the man took it.

He kicked around the red solo cup that was rolling around on the dirty and cracked ground as he waited for the girl. It had been an hour since the man left and Taehyung was waiting for (Y/N) to come so he can deliver the good news for her. He expects her to be happy and full of joy at the change in events... but he was still on edge. He barely knows her but he wants to know her and help in whatever way he can. Kim Taehyung was tired of being selfish and only doing pointless things for himself; it was time for him to step up and help someone in need.
He heard hurried footsteps and whipped his head to the direction of the noise. There, he saw the girl running quickly into the alley, only to slow her pace when she saw the man. Once she was close enough, (Y/N) gave him a confused look and asked while gulping, "T-Taehyung? What are you doing here?"
The brown-haired man gave her a warm smile and stepped towards her until he was nearly towering over her. She felt uncomfortable but safe near him at the same time. He gave off a vibe that he wanted to protect her, but she can't be sure that was his intention by a mere feeling. Looking at him, she waited for him to say something but he instead embraced her in his arms. (Y/N) was very taken aback and her mouth fell slightly agape at the sudden contact as the side of her head lay on his chest. She could hear his heart beating and all she could think about is if this is all a joke... what if he's planning to do something?
"Taehyung, if you're planning to hurt me, just tell me..." (Y/N) was scared because she was supposed to meet the tattooed man and give him money she didn't have. The worst forms of torture crossed her mind when she thought about how disappointed that man would be and how badly he would hurt her. She assumed Taehyung was the one that was told to do the dirty work... but why would he give her two thousand dollars just to hurt her?
He chuckled and replied while still embracing her, "I would never hurt you. You've been hurt too much already." She was utterly confused now but nonetheless broke the hug and stared into his eyes, trying to find any hint of a joke. (Y/N) then asked, "Where is he?"
Taehyung gave her another smile and whispered, "You don't have to worry about him anymore." The next reaction she had was not one he expected. She stepped away from him with her fists clenched and her eyes wide when she yelled, "What the hell did you do?!" He backed up in surprise at her sudden outburst. She was on the brink of tears and he felt so much pity for her. This girl has gone through so much and she's terrified.
(Y/N) put her face in her hands and mumbled incoherent word. Taehyung slowly walked towards her and grabbed her wrists to remove her hands from her face, softly saying, "Hey... you don't need to worry anymore, okay? I paid him off for you." The girl shook her head uncontrollably in slight disbelief and utter confusion. Looking at him, she could feel tears pricking at her eyes as she replied, "No... now I owe you money and we barely know each other and I-" she choked, then continued by asking, "Why did you do it?"
Taehyung stared down at her, giving her the most beautiful smile she had every seen. His eyes were large and intently staring at her as he held her shoulders and replied in a soft, whisper-like tone, "Because I'm tired of only helping myself and being a selfish man who uses money for my own useless needs. I want to help someone and I don't know why, but... I just needed to be there for you because you don't deserve this and I can't stand by and watch someone torture you."
Her eyes glittered in disbelief but she was touched at the same time. Returning a small smile, she wrapped her arms around him and let the tears fall on their own, not caring about what the man thought of her. (Y/N) didn't know what she could possibly do to thank him. Kim Taehyung was her savior, almost as if he was an angel that saved her and opened the door to freedom.
She felt nothing but thankfulness and utmost gratitude for the man she embraced.
