~Flashback~

"(y/n) I want you to promise me something." Hobi says. "Sure Hobi, what is it?" I asked. "Before I go, I want you to promise to never forget me. I'll even promise you something k." He says. "K, I promise." I said. "My promise to you is that in the future when I'm old enough I'll find you and we can live together. I promise." His smile gets wider and I laugh at his sentence.

"Hoseok, come on its time to go!" His mom yells from the car. "Well, bye (y/n)." He gives me a hug and runs to the car. I was about to walk inside when I heard my name. I turned around and saw Hobi sticking his head out of the window.

"Bye (y/n), I love you!" He yells while the car drives off. "Bye, I love you too!" I yell back.

~End of Flashback~

I wake up feeling really tired. "God what time did I go to sleep last night?" I ask myself. I get up and take a shower so that the tiredness can leave. I feel all refreshed once I get out. I change into some decent clothes and go to my job. You would think that I work and some company, but in reality I work in a flower shop. I like it. I get my things and walk to the shop. Once I get there I put on my apron and go check on the flowers.

My job is to make sure all the flowers and growing right, water them, put fertilizer is some. I check and water some of the flowers, then I help out some customers who want to buy some. After I'm done helping them out, my co-worker tells me that someone is here for me. I wonder who it could be. None of my family members live here and I stay home all the time so I don't have friends. I walk to the counter and see a man smiling at me.

"Umm, can I help you?" I ask. "Hi are you (y/f/n) (y/l/n)?" He asks. "Yeah." I said confused. He walked over to me and I back up a bit. Then to my surprise he hugs me. I don't hug back, but pat his back. "I'm so glad I found you." He says. "Umm, do I know you?" I ask. He gets off of me and looks at me with a shocked face.

"It's been that long, huh?" He says. Now I'm really confused. "You really don't remember me?" He asks. "I feel like I should, but I don't sorry." I said. "It's ok. It was a long time ago." He says. "So are you going to tell me who you are?" I asked. "Hmm I don't know." He says. "What do you mean 'I don't know'?" I ask. "Ok fine, but before I tell you I want to say that you broke your promise." He says. "I've made a lot of promises to people." I said.

"Well if this makes you remember, I kept mine. I promised you that in the future when we get older I would find you and we'll live together."

Then it all suddenly came back to me and I broke down. "Oh my God, Hobi?" I hugged him again and squeezed him tight. "How did you find me?" I asked. "Well it was a lot of work, but I did it." He says. "Well when my shift is done we can catch up." He nods and I go back to my job. I can't believe after all these years I finally have my best friend back.

After my shift is done I find Hobi waiting for me and we walk to my house. "So Hobi, what have you been up to?" I ask. "Well, after we moved I made some new friends, but no one could replace my (y/n)." He pinched my cheeks and I rolled my eyes with a smile. We got to my house and I pulled out the key. I unlocked the door and we went inside.

"Sorry for the mess, I don't really get that much visitors." I said. "It's ok." He says. "So are you staying anywhere?" I ask. "Uhh, I didn't really plan that part out. I just stuck with the promise and I thought that you would let me stay here." He says. Wow, he was really committed to the whole finding me and living together thing, huh. "Well, I have an extra room, just incase family comes over or...I get friends." God I sound like a loner.

He gets up and hugs me again. "I'm so glad I found you." He gets off of me and go looks at the room.

"Hey, Hobi are you hungry?" I ask. "Yeah. You know I can really go for something sweet. How about Japgwapyon?" He asks. (Japgwapyon is a Korean sweet. It's a rice cake in a ball shape.) "Aww, Hobi you still remember that from when we were kids?" I ask. We used to eat this sweet all the time. "Of course I do, how could I forget?" He says.

I make everything and get out the cakes. We eat them and I look at Hobi to see his reaction. "Mmm, (y/n) this is delicious." He says. "Thanks." I said back. Once we're done eating we put everything away and sit on the couch together.

"So what do you want to talk about?" I asks him. "Umm, lets talk about our memories together. Like that one time when we snuck out at night." He said.

~Flashback~

I snuck out of my room window and went to Hobi's. He leaves it open for me all the time. I went in and started to poke his cheek. He opened his eyes and jumps back. "Relax, its just me." I said. "What are you doing here?" He asked. "I want you to come with me." I said. "Do you know what time it is?" He asks. "Aww, come on Hobi. I already woke you up." I said. "Ok, I'll go with you." He says. He gets up and we climb out the window. We walk to a pond and stare at the water.

"I like to come here at night when I'm sad or mad. It's quiet and peaceful here." I said. "Yeah it is nice." He says. "Hey, I have something." I reached into my bag and pulled out a box. "What's that?" He asks. "A box." I said back. "I know that, but what's in the box?" He asks. "Something that you can't see." I said. "Then why'd you show me?" He asks. "I showed you because I want you to have it, but not now. Right now we're going to bury it. It's like a time capsule type, thing." I pulled out a small shovel from my bag and started to did a hole.

Afterwards I put the box in and covered it up. "One day you'll get to see what's in this box, but we have to dig it up together." He nods and we stay a while longer. I put my head on his shoulder and we watch the glimmer in the water.

~End Flashback~

"That was a fun night." I said. "Hey, we should go dig up that box." He said. "Oh, well ok. If you want to." I said. "Lets go right now." He says. "Right now? O-Ok." I said. We got in my car and started to dive off. It took a while, but we finally got there. It's dark by now so it should be ok to dig with out getting caught. We walked to the pond and found the spot.

"Well, here it is." Hobi said. "Yeah, lets start digging." It took a few digs, but we finally found it. Hobi grabs the box and was about to open it when I interrupted him.

"Umm, Hobi, I wanted you to know that I made that box when we were young, ok." I said a little embarrassed. "It's ok. You don't have to be worried. I'm sure whatever in here I'll love it." He says. I nod and he opened the box. He takes out the note that I left for him a while ago. He took it out and started to read it out loud.

"Dear Hobi, you might be reading this alone or with me by your side. I wanted you to know that I put this box together because I love you. I love it when you make me laugh, I love it when you make my day brighter, and I love the way you care about me. I don't know if you feel the same, but I'm willing to accept it if you don't. You'll always be my best friend and I'm glad we met. -(y/n)"

My eyes start to get watery, but I hold it in. He looks deeper in the box and there are Polaroid pictures of us. I labeled them all and he pulled out a tiny photo book. "You made this for me?" He asks. "Yeah, I wanted us to have memories together. Then I found out that you were moving away." I said. He put the box down and walked over too me.

"(y/n), I've liked you for a long time. Seeing you happy made me feel happy. When my parents told me that we were moving I broke down a little. When we got in the car to go, I told you that I love you. You might have thought that it was a friendly I love you, but it was more than that. I love you a lot." He grabbed my face and kissed my lips.

It was the bast feeling ever. I put my arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. After a while we pulled apart.

"You know I didn't forget my promise." I said. "You didn't?" He asks. "No, I just didn't recognize you because of how cute you got." He blushed and scratched the back of his head. "Well, I couldn't believe that it was you either." He said.

We watched the water and held hands while I put my head on his shoulder, just like all that time ago.
