A trigger has a weight-resistance. Pulling the trigger of an ordinary hand gun is like lifting one kilogram with your index.

Jungkook focus

"Kookie!" Jimin shouted his name with tears in his eyes and let the empty guns clatter to the ground. He lied on the floor and tried to blend out the torturous pain from his right thigh. One of the evil machines had shot his leg. Dark red liquid began to run through his fingers and his lover's eyes widened panicked.

"I'm okay, I'm good," he promised through gritted teeth, though he must look anything but. This was not his first wound of this kind, and he knew it was harmless. Just muscle, no tendon or bone. Still, walking would be torturous.

The metal arm of one of the horrifying battle robots twitched and he lifted his gun reflexively and placed another bullet into the things head. Ugly creations. With their four slim metal legs and the thin structure with four armed arms, two 9mm-guns and two long curved knifes, they were difficult to hurt. The only weak spot was the small globe that sat slightly above where the legs connected. They looked like metal spiders with four legs. Terrifying. Just like everything else that belonged to this ship.

"Jimin. Jimin!" he tried to get his lover's attention who still kneeled in front of him brabbling his name under tears. He let go of his leg and cupped the elder's face, not caring that he was smearing blood all over the soft skin. "You have to go find Hoseok. He needs you, not me. I'm good. I'll treat my wound as good as possible and will shoot every battle robot that comes along."

Jimin hiccupped but calmed down a little.

"Now go. They need you," he instructed and let go of the honey-haired. Jimin looked so fragile though he wore the impressive gear. It hurt his heart to send him off alone, especially when his power would be useless against the metal enemy.

Hesitantly, his boyfriend nodded and stood up. "You sure you-hm are good?" the Charmer asked one last time, interrupted by a hiccup.

Jungkook forced a smile onto his face though his leg burned like shit. Then he handed over the tracker and picked up Jimin's guns which the elder almost forgot. What a battle-idiot, he thought lovingly.

Then Jimin slowly began to walk away, always turning around his head to look at him until he vanished behind the next corner.

The clicking of metal feet sounded from the opposite direction from where Jimin had vanished. Even that sounded nasty. What a horrible product design.

He put on his helmet, reloaded his guns and sat up straighter to hide his upper body behind one of the thicker pipes that littered the walls.

What a shitty day to die.

Namjoon focus

The tension in the room was almost unbearable, and Namjoon felt sweat running down his spine and temples. Jiwoo looked at her brother in shock, Jooheon had been stopped by her heart-shaking scream, and four automatic rifles were still pointing at them.

Namjoon wanted to tell Hoseok to take down his gun, but the captain's plan was not bad. Jiwoo would never kill her brother.

Unfortunately, the Jooheon-guy would. "Grief, I take Jiwoo out of command. She is no longer able to decide rationally," his sonorous voice cut through the silence.

"Command confirmed," a female voice said. They had an AI? How was that possible? And what a weird name.

"I'm sorry, Ji, but I will end this now," the man said and reached for the control unit. "Grief-"

Before Namjoon could think about it, he had pulled out and unlocked his gun and pointed it at the enemy commander whose head had snapped up at the sound. To his surprise none of the rifles fired at him, but Jiwoo jumped in front of his muzzle, and suddenly cold steel pressed against his temple from the left.

He understood three things. The soldiers were scared to shoot someone, Hoseok's sister had some kind of feelings for Jooheon, and his own captain was threatening him with a gun to his head. Another tie situation. He was getting annoyed.

"You will not kill my sister," he heard the growl of the brunette.

He sighed. "I will kill whomever I need to kill to save billions of people on that planet," he replied calmly and put his index on the trigger.

"Prep the laser," Jooheon said, voice empty. Apparently, the man did not care about the woman who loved him.

Namjoon's finger tightened over the small bar. One kilogram parted him from becoming a murderer.

A deafening bang rolled through the echoing bridge when he pulled the trigger.

Jin focus

"This thing prints out these awful food bars. And guess how they named it?" he asked the two soldiers who sat in two of the transporter's seats while listening to him with wide eyes.

Both moved their heads in a mix of a shake and a nod, eyes telling him they wanted to know more. It had been so easy to lull those idiots into a talk, and it relaxed him immensely to simply brabble about nonsense. He did not want to think about his friends.

"They called it Foodprint. FOOD-print!" he exclaimed agitated.

"What blasphemy," the smaller of the two watchdogs said, sincerely shocked.

"And the other series are called Meatmixer, Bar-Beque and Foodlocker. Can you imagine that?" he rambled on.

"Holy," the other one, a lanky trim cut, breathed out. "How does it taste?"

"It tastes like throwing an average meal into the mixer and pressing it into the form of a protein bar."

"How awful!" the short one outraged.

Jin had to hold back his eyes from making a roll. A goldfish was smarter than those two. He would bet that they would even hand him their weapons if he asked nicely.

Jimin focus

Jimin ran through the hallways, following the tracker. His thoughts were occupied by the picture of Jungkook's red hand. The younger had said that everything was okay, but it had looked not at all okay. Only the knowledge that something worse could happen had pushed him to leave his boyfriend behind, but he was concerned beyond words. How must Jin feel, waiting for them in the hangar without getting to know what was happening at all. Were those two watchdogs nice to him?

Suddenly the sleuth tool signaled him that he had lost track. Panicking he looked around, but the only thing he saw were pipes and a gray sliding door. This must be the bridge then. There was no other explanation. Cautiously, he walked back and stepped in front of the door. Silently, it slid open and revealed a strange scenario.

In hunched positions there stood four men in black with rifles, Hoseok with his left hand holding Namjoon's hands that held a gun, so that the barrel pointed at the ceiling (which was a giant window, Jimin realized in awe). And in front of his two crewmembers stood the girl from the feed, Hoseok's sister, with her hands over her ears and behind her an unknown man with a shocked face.

A weird ghost echo filled the room.

Then Grief's voice spoke over the silence. "Es tut mir leid. Ich konnte Sie nicht verstehen. Bitte formulieren Sie Ihren Befehl erneut."

Jimin furrowed his brows at the foreign language. His bewilderment grew even more when Namjoon suddenly began to laugh wholeheartedly. He never had heard the Brain laughing this hard. What was so funny?

"You're brilliant, Taehyung!" the blonde shouted into the room, unaware of the looks he gained himself.

"Prep the laser, Grief," the man in the far background said.

"Es tut mir leid, Kommandant. Ich verstehen Sie nicht," Grief answered.

Though Jimin did not understand a single word, he understood what had happened. The AI spoke a different language. Taehyung had reset the language options. He smiled confused, but second by second the consequences became clearer.

"What did you do?!" the man shouted at Namjoon and looked furious. He pushed past Jiwoo, who just looked scared and like she did not understand the whole situation at all, and came to stand in front of the blonde who had pushed his weapon back into its holster like everything was over.

"Well, apparently we took your ability to communicate with your AI," the Brain said smugly. Somehow Jimin liked the arrogant tune when it was directed at their enemy. Still, this situation was absurd. He would have expected a heated argument or even an epic shootdown to end this battle but not a simple hacking pun.

The man bared his teeth with a growl. "Then we'll all have to die," he said, voice sounding frustrated and angry on the verge to insane. He sprinted back to the control unit and sat I the chair, grabbing the two joysticks that were attached to the armrests.

What was happening here?

"Jooheon, what are you doing?" Hoseok's sister asked the man.

The other just smiled sadly. "Earth has died once from a big comet. Let's see if we're big enough."

Jimin's jaw dropped. This suicidal idiot wanted to crash his fucking monster ship on Earth's surface.

The joysticks hit their maximum when the guy leaned forwards.

Yoongi focus

Yoongi laughed his ass off when Bang answered in German. This was the best pun Taehyung had ever pulled. Bang had wandered from knot to knot and had replaced the boot-file with a prewritten one from the V and had re-booted the knots one by one while spreading their worm. Now, both AIs spoke German. Making Bang change his language as well had been a necessary evil. The possibility of changing back had to be completely erased.

"I love you," he wheezed out breathlessly.

"I love you, too," Taehyung replied with a boxy smile and leaned towards him to connect their lips for a soft kiss.

"Taehyung," Bang's voice distracted them, "Ein bewaffneter Robot befindet sich auf dem Weg in eure Richtung."

"What did he say?" Yoongi asked the other, but the V just shrugged his shoulders.

"Dunno," the alien said and leaned in again to give him another gentle peck. The scent of Taehyung enveloped him reassuringly, and he sighed happily. They had done it. Everything else was irrelevant.

Yoongi was too distracted to hear the metal clicking before it was too late. Something sparkled through the open door behind Taehyung, and the next thing he saw was his lover ripping his knife out of its sheath while turning around. Then a toenail-curling scream combined with a metal screech echoed through the small room and the hallway and sparks flew from the metal body.

The spider-like battle robot broke down with a whalebone knife stuck in what seemed to be his brain, and a heavy body fell into his lap. Red liquid glistened on the robot's curved knife.

This was not real, Yoongi thought. This was not happening.

"Tae," he choked.

But the body in his arms just breathed flat and much too fast and a pain-stained face looked up to him.

"You idiot!" he shouted at his lover when he understood. "Why the fuck did you open you jacket?! You dumb, damn IDIOT!"

"Warm," the younger pressed out with a hint of a wry smile on his lips.

"You stupid FOOL!"

His voice became hoarse from how loud he screamed, then he switched. It was so abrupt that he felt like hitting a wall, but it was good. He was calm. He could think again.

He needed help and he needed to check how bad the wound was. Gently he pushed open the jacket and stared at the cut. Taehyung should be dead, he realized. The robot had perfectly aimed for his heart. But here his alien was, breathing and alive. How many lifes did Vs possess?

"Bang?" he asked before he remembered that the AI could not understand him. But something unexpectedly useful came to his mind. It was silly, but it was his only chance.

"Ja?" the uncle voice replied.

"Cherry. Puppy."

Jimin focus

Nothing happened when Jooheon leaned into the joysticks.

Jimin laughed dryly, and suddenly all the eyes were on him.

"Who're you?" Jiwoo asked confused.

"Shit, Jimin! What happened to your face?" Hoseok added.

"Nothing, I'm good," he answered the captain, but touched his face to check if there was something he had missed. His fingers came back red. Jungkook must have left a bloody handprint on his cheek. War painting, he thought.

"Irrelevant! Watch him!" the man at the control shouted and jumped up. "Why doesn't this work?" he asked Hoseok's sister, voice calmer but grabbing her shoulders harshly. Hoseok twitched at the sight. "You built this ship, so why doesn't it work?"

The woman looked scared and... disgusted?

Jimin shook his head. Not his problem. "Well, you know," he said getting all the attention back to him, "Even with a modified first law-" Namjoon's face lit up like he had understood something "-there are the other laws. And as long as you can't tell your AI to stand back and let you proceed with your suicidal plan, it will follow the third law and protect itself."

The man closed his eyes and sighed defeated.

"This is a very un-epic end," Hoseok deadpanned, and Jimin felt like agreeing. "And would you get your filthy hands off my sister?!" the brunette said towards Jooheon and pulled Jiwoo towards him and out of the enemy commander's grip. The man looked shocked when the woman simply followed Hoseok's lead and even grabbed the captains hand. This gesture made everything more than clear.

Jimin was slightly repelled by the traitorous behavior of Hoseok's sister, but then again, he could understand. He could never harm his younger brother either. Not even if it meant getting rid of all the bad memories and self-hatred he had piled up over the years. And had he lived with the knowledge of his brother being dead and had suddenly and unexpectedly found him, he happily would have left behind every ally -well, maybe almost every ally- to live with his family again. Because even with all the trouble and his sometimes-unbearable and annoying mother, family was still family. It was a place where he was understood and loved. And from what he just had experienced that Joohoen-guy was not worth crying over.

"Un-epic?" Namjoon asked with a crooked smile, "You first threatened to kill yourself and then to kill me, and I almost shot your sister, the mastermind behind the monster, who became a turncoat all of a sudden. If this was not epic, I don't know what is."

Jimin looked at the two in confusion. Hoseok had threatened to kill Namjoon? He shook his head and concentrated back on the mad guy in the background. When he saw the dark eyes under the curly fringe, he knew something bad was about to happen.

"Shoot them," Jooheon barked, and the air on the bridge turned ice-cold when the muzzles were adjusted at them again.

This guy was coming dangerously close to the top of his whom-I-hate-list, no matter he was hurt and had waited for his revenge all his life. He would not let this psycho kill his friends. "No," Jimin growled in a low tone and unleashed the full force of his Charmer nature. "On your knees."

The whole room fell on their knees and looked at him. Some shocked, others relieved, but all of them some kind of horny. He hated it. Disgust curled under his skin. But he had to endure it, because he was in control and his crewmembers were safe.

"Namjoon," Bang's voice called out. It sounded panicked. "Taehyung wurde angeschossen und von Kampfrobotern verfolgt."

Jimin looked at Namjoon, and the commander's reaction was anything but good. The Brain paled.

"Taehyung has been wounded by battle robots," he said. "And how the fuck did Bang get into the system?"

"Shit," Jimin hissed. Only now he remembered that Jungkook also was wounded an on his own. Fear and concern threatened to overwhelm him, and he felt his chest tighten in panic once again.

"Jimin," Namjoon pressed out, still on his knees and obviously fighting the Charmer-pull. He was sorry for charming his friends as well, but with so many people in such a big place it was difficult to divide. "You have to tie them up, and then we need to find Tae."

He nodded and blinked away the wall of tears that had begun to blur his vision to find something like rope. When he did not see anything useful in the ocean of glistening pipes and anthracite walls, he took Jiwoo's smock and began to rip it apart to make stripes out of it. This would not last for long, but Hoseok could still knock them out. His trembling fingers worked way too slow and he cursed himself for being so jittery. Jungkook and Taehyung need their help and he was struggling with tying up some rebels.

A bump against the window made his head snap up.

"Ticks," Namjoon said astounded, "The AESF is here."

Relieved Jimin watched how several of those small space ships docked onto the surface like leeches and began to cut out circular parts. With loud clatters the thick layers of non-reflecting acryl-glass shattered on the floor and made sharp pieces fly through the room. Jimin guarded his face with his arms until the glass shower was over.

"Hoseok!" a lanky soldier who had just jumped down through the window greeted their captain. "And on your knees! Never thought of you as the obedient type."

"Hyungwon," the captain greeted back, less enthusiastic but still sounding glad. "Shut you trash can and help tying up those bastards."

Jimin saw Jiwoo's eyes widen from the corner of his eyes. Did she know the AESF-guy? Cautiously, he caged his already weakened Charmer nature and left everything to the special force. They had to find Tae and Kookie. Before he could even call the commander's name, Namjoon grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the room, two soldiers following them.

"Jungkook is injured, too," he said while running down the hallways they had come from. "He's on our way."

Namjoon just nodded and ran faster.

"Jimin," Bang's voice suddenly called out, "Grief ist stärker als ich. Sie kennt das System besser und vernichtet meine Erinnerungen." The AI sounded panicked, and he felt his heart aching at the unknown tune.

"What did he say?" he asked Namjoon, ignoring the sting in his side from talking while running.

"He said Grief is stronger than him and is destroying his memories," the commander answered concerned.

"Shit," Jimin cursed and feverishly tried to think of something to motivate Bang. The enemy AI could ruin getting out of the ship and treating Kookie and Tae. It needed to be eliminated. They needed full control.

"Ask Bang what his biggest wish is," he instructed Namjoon when they ran around a corner.

The commander translated the question, though he looked like he did not understand, and waited for the answer. When Bang spoke again the blonde's eyes widened. "He wants a body? Jimin what did you do to the machine?"

Jimin was stunned as well. But of course. They had talked about it. For Bang, having a body was being an individual. He wanted to become human. Jimin smiled with teary eyes. This was so cute.

"Tell him my biggest wish is that all of us can leave this ship alive. I'll grand his wish, if he accomplishes mine," he told Namjoon.

The Brain translated his message.

"Deal," Bang said, and Jimin smiled wider.

Behind the next twist was the corridor where he had left behind his beloved raven. They found the younger leaned against the wall and face covered with a glistening layer of sweat. Destroyed battle robots scattered the floor. Had his lover eliminated all of those?

"It was about time," the soldier said with a tired bunny smile. Then his eyes widened. "Wonho?"

"Hey, buddy," one of the AESF-guys greeted the raven, "Wouldn't have guessed to see you on a battlefield again. Did you miss the blood and the thrill?" The Wonho-guy smiled wryly. "Let's take you home."

Jimin kneeled in front of his lover and took his face between his hands. "We did it. We saved Earth," he whispered and kissed his bunny-faced soldier. Only now, he understood that it was over. That the special force was here and Jungkook was alive. He sobbed like a child when relief washed over him. The tears ran down his smiling face and Jungkook pulled him into his strong embrace.

Then the lights turned off.

"What happened?" Jimin asked scared. "Bang?"

No answer, just the breathing of the men. Then slowly, a dim red light lit up the hallway again.

"We're on backup power," Jungkook stated confused. "But the Taegi-team said it only slows down the power engines, not kills them."

"Bang?" Jimin asked concerned, completely overhearing his boyfriend's words. Panic clawed his chest when he got no reply. "Bang!"

The AI did not answer.

"Grief?"

Nothing. Then, he understood.

Bang had committed suicide to save them.

Namjoon focus

Jungkook was good, but they needed to find Taehyung. When he saw that one of the soldier knew their youngest, he gestured the other one to follow him further. They sprinted down the hallways how Namjoon had remembered them, and suddenly there was another broken robot with something that looked like Taehyung's whalebone knife stuck in its body.

"Tae?" he asked looking into the room with the open door.

And there the V lied. Yoongi was pressing his red hands onto a place over Taehyung's heart and stared at him out of cold clear eyes. It was so disturbing to see the white-haired so calm while handling his dying friend. And dying Taehyung was. Almost all the floor of the narrow room was covered in dark red liquid, and the V was even paler than his Switcher-boyfriend. If the wound really was where Yoongi's hands pressed down, it was a wonder their friend's heart was still intact.

"It worked," the white-haired just said, sounding relieved.

"'lo, Joon," Taehyung slurred barely audible, lips almost not moving, "Tell me s'methin' funny."

For the first time in his life, Namjoon felt close to tears. His friend had problems keeping his eyes open and his beautiful caramel skin looked gray, but he still joked to cheer them up.

"If the fool would persist in his folly he would be wise," Namjoon quoted biting back his tears.

"Blake," the V said. "Nice." He breathed very slow and flat. "'ell lil Minie I forgive 'im." A shadow of the boxy smile ghosted over the dying man's face, and Namjoon's heart clenched. Why Taehyung? Why the first person he had considered a true friend? Why that stupid bastard with the silly faces? He felt the cold track of a tear on his cheek and collapsed to his knees. They had almost made it all alive. Why their V?

The thought of the colorful species triggered something in his memory, and sudden realization hit him. This damn idiot! Why had he not told them? Vs were not just left-handed; their bodies were built completely reversed. Their heart was on the right side of the chest! Taehyung could survive!

But the moment he understood, the V's eyes rolled back, and his head fell on his shoulder. Then the lights turned off.
