Chapter Seven: Savannah Time
~
Nadia smiled a bit as she looked down to Savannah. She had been lucky that the little girl was Ace's blind spot.
Of course though, the worst they were doing was shopping at more than one store. While they were shopping though, the little girl spilled many things. One of those things was the fact that Zeke was an abusive monster.
Well, he used to be one. Now he was like an animal, hence the collar and treatment. Savannah had also told Nadia that Ace tried to kill him but she didn't want Zeke dead, since they didn't know about many relatives. She spilled many things to the woman she mostly trusted.
Nadia only spoke a few times during those confessions, worry spiking within her body. She didn't know that the twins had suffered so much. It, however, did explain a few things about their behavior.
They finished their shopping quickly, Nadia having bought Savannah several new clothes and shoes along with a few girly toys.
The auburn haired girl just smiled and seemed happy about it all. She didn't really have many toys other than the ones they could find in the trash or steal. It felt nice to actually have toys that were bought with her in mind.
Ace rolled his eyes at the items, but he didn't say anything about them. He could see how happy his sister was, there was a peaceful shine in her eyes that he hadn't seen in a long time.
The boy waited for their 'Aunt' to leave as she usually did, but this time, she stayed longer. This made the little girl happy.
"Well, you're going to be living on your own when you're eighteen, so you need to learn how to cook!" The kind woman chirped.
The blue-green eyed girl giggled and hopped close to Nadia as the woman went to the kitchen. There, Ace listened to his sister chirp about what they could do the next day, mainly talking about going to the park to enjoy the sunny day.
Nadia just softly laughed and agreed. She was okay with spending more time with her little niece. She wanted to get close to both of them, but it seemed she would have to wait for a bit. At least on Ace.
Once dinner was done and made, Savannah made a bowl for Zeke and went to give it to him in his room. Gently, though, the carmel haired woman stopped her.
"Why don't we have him join us for dinner? He can still eat it on the ground." She offered in a sweet and kind voice.
Ace frowned deeply, glaring at the two.
"No." He said firmly. "The dog doesn't eat with us." His tone and voice were dark and demanding, making Nadia simply nod.
The next day, Nadia had helped Savannah in her new sundress. It was a soft blue color with gentle white and green flowers floating around the skirt.
Savannah looked very pretty in it. Heck, even Ace said so!
Afterwards, the two went to the park, Nadia letting her little niece run around and play with a few other kids.
Yet, the little girl didn't really play with the other kids as much as the woman thought. The little girl mostly clung to her Aunt, babbling about a few things she and her brother were thinking of about the house.
It was mostly about renovating the place, adding a few more rooms, knocking down some walls, ect.
The Aunt smiled and chuckled softly, nodding her head a few times. At some points, she would give small suggestions so things would seem realistic.
Savannah liked most of them, jumping and skipping as she continued to speak. The two of them were actually moving away from the other people.
Nadia didn't blame the tween as it was quite noisy over there. She assumed too much noise would hurt the little one or cause a mild panic attack. Of course, though, she hadn't seen her niece have a panic attack, she didn't want to risk it.
"Zeke seems very attached to you." The therapist said sweetly, smiling softly. "Why is that?" she murmured.
The girl smiled brightly and nodded.
"I saved him and I love him the most. Ace is the one that punishes him for doing something wrong. I make sure the punishments don't go too far."
Nadia's smile softened some, but she nodded. It made sense... It made awful sense.
Over the next couple of days, Aunt Day took Savannah out. And everytime, the young woman spilled something new. Till she spilled about the time she kissed Zeke.
The older woman had stopped them and asked why. The little girl didn't see what was wrong with kissing her uncle, so she shrugged and told her Aunt what had happened. The innocent looking girl went into such awful detail.
Nadia felt her stomach turn some, more worry filling it, yet something also filled it. Something worse than worry.
Tenderly, however, the therapist explained as much as she could to the child in front of her why kissing their uncle wasn't good.
Savannah just giggled and agreed, even if she didn't really, really care. She just wanted to make her Aunt happy, or what she thinks will make her Aunt happy.
