Chapter Eight: Zeke's Treats

After spending roughly a week with Savannah, Nadia spent some time with Zeke. She still couldn't really understand why they decided to name their uncle that, but just left it.

For the first day, the uncle was scared. He was scared enough, that he basically hid in his cage. However, the second he was able to stay still enough to let his Sister-In-Law pet him.

The third day was much better, having the uncle actually talk with her! Though it actually could just because she brought him some treats.

They weren't anything big or alcohol as she worried Ace would blame the uncle and beat him. The treats were a small plushy that could easily be hidden and some soft candies.

The damaged man almost clung to Nadia by the fourth day, happily talking to her about anything.

Because of this trust, the woman was able to softly pry a few things out of him. One of the main things was his treatment to and by the twins.

Zeke admitted that he was just an awful uncle, a horrible man. He believed that every punishment he received, he deserved.

That type of thought process pained the woman, but she couldn't say much.

No, she couldn't say much because what he did was awful... Yet, she just didn't know what to say either.

Gently, she stroked his head and changed the subject. She talked about his old hobbies, like fishing and working on cars. Of course, the man wasn't really good at either, too impatient to really sit things out and try.

Yet, there, with his head in the kind woman's lap, he smiled. His eyes brightened and held an odd cheerful look.

"Ace says that if I behave for a year, he'll get me a car to fix!" He chirped out happily like a child. "He even said if I learn how to handle strangers, he'd even let me go out to find a job!" More excitement filled the old man, he turned his head into Nadia's belly. "I really like you." He murmured after a moment.

The woman just smiled and kissed his head, softly rubbing his thickening hair. He was like a child, needing things to keep distracted, but scared of the angry parents.

"Maybe I should give you some books on cars and other things like that?" Nadia asked, looking down at him.

Almost instantly, Zeke was up, pushing his Sister-In-Law down, his lips pulled into a wide, gleeful smile.

"Yes!" He called out, his hands gently cupping the woman's cheeks.

Quickly, her cheeks flushed a red color by his closeness, yet she gave him a soft smile.

"Alright, alright." She giggled, gently rubbing under his eye. "I'll bring them tomorrow. I'll help you with them as much as I can."

Zeke smiled more, quickly leaning down, pressing his lips to hers. A squeak left the woman, her hands falling to her chest as she was softly kissed. The kiss was short and simple, which just made Nadia's face hotter.

Once Zeke pulled away, he was still smiling. He then decided to just lay on top of the plump woman, making her blush brightly.

The old man stayed like that for a while till Ace told him to get off. Thankfully, the boy had used a nicer tone that he usually used so his uncle didn't go into a whimpering form.

Nadia gave the boy a gentle smile before leaving. She did keep her promise the next day.

She bought the books that her Brother-In-Law would need and even bought him a few new tools. The poor man beamed as he looked down to her.

When the end of the week approached, he held her close to him, tired from the studying and reading he was doing. He didn't want to let go.

Still, she was able to squirm her way out of his hold. She kissed his cheek, gently laying him into his human bed and tucking him in.

"Don't worry, I'll be back." She whispered. "I'll be back."

Zeke nodded to those words, completely sleeping with them dancing around his brain with the happy thought of her in his arms once more.
