Surgery I

3rd Aug 2016

It started out as a fun day. Everyone was up early and we went out. They seemed to have forgotten to feed me but I was so excited that I wasn't hungry anyway.

We drove to a place called the veterinary hospital. I saw so many different types of dogs. It was amazing.

Some of them were sick and some had to be carried on a moving table with wheels. Some looked fine but had to wear a cone around their neck.

We were waiting by the car for a while. Anna took pictures of me as I climbed the back of the car. It was fun.

After a while they took me to a room and stabbed me with a needle by another one of those doctors. It was not too painful but then I began to panic because I was feeling drowsy. I could see everyone crowd around me as my eyes closed slowly.

When I woke up I was in pain. My eye hurt. I wanted to rub it or touch it atleast but I still couldn't move.

The first person I saw when I opened my eyes was Anna. She was happy to see me awake and called Mama and Dada too.

I was glad to see them too, but I had no idea why I was not able to move. I kept trying until my hand twitched. Then my tail moved a little.

I tried getting up but then they stopped me. They put a plastic cone around my neck and then picked me up.

I did not like this cone. It made me want to scratch my eye even more.

They took me home while I was in and out of consciousness. They set me down comfortably on a pillow.

Through my drowsiness I could still see what was happening around me. Anna went back to work and Mama and Dada had their lunch. That's when I realised I was hungry.

After a few hours I was finally back on my feet. I was angry with my family because of what I went through. What was that all about? Was this some sort of punishment?

When Mama came to me I snapped at her and tried to bite her. She looked upset but then I realised she was trying to bring me some food. Slightly ashamed I went to eat, licking every last bit of it.

I eventually calmed down, I noticed that my vision is not blocked by my hair anymore which was a relief. Maybe this had to do with the pain in my eye?

For the next few days they put drops in my eye which was soothing but I was scared every time they brought the medicine. They had to chase me around and hold me down.

Couldn't wait for this to be over and to get out of the cone.
