Clay was heading to his room with a smile on his face. Today was a day he wish could happen more often, there were no upcoming concerts, so John dory had said they could spend the day however they wanted to. Now Clay only had one thing he wanted to do more than anything. Go to the library where a secret book club he had recently joined would meet up and it was not just any book club. It was a sad book club. Clay enjoyed the sad book club a lot. And right now they were reading and discussing a particularly sad story. And Clay was really looking forward to the sad book club and with everyone doing their own thing, he'd be able to sneak out, attend the club and make it back in time for lunch and no one would even notice he'd been absent.

But as Clay headed to his room he froze seeing Floyd, John dory and spruce with their baby brother branch. Branch was looking sad. Clay tried to make himself keep walking but.... He couldn't he gad to make sure branch was OK. So he entered the room and said

"Hey, what's going on is branch ok?"

Branch kept looking down.

Floyd sighed. "Branch is feeling a little sad today. He doesn't know why but ,I think he's got the blues."

Clay frowned. He didn't like seeing branch this sad. There had to be a way he could... wait a minute there was but Clay really wanted to go to his sad book club. But his brother looked so sad. Clay closed his eyes and made his choice he went to his room and went to the closet and got out a box labeled silly stuff.

Clay put on a clown wig and put on a clowns nose. He he then went to where branch was and said

"Hey branch look at me."

Branch looked up and stared in disbelief

Clay was wearing a clowns wig and had a clowns nose on. Branch blinked then suddenly Clay started to do a silly dance

Branch slowly started to smile. Clay decided to go a bit sillier and got out some balls and started juggling while humming goofily.

Clay then tossed the balls into the air and pretended to be confused pretending he couldn't find them. Then catching the balls and putting away the balls branch was starting to giggle. Finally Clay decided to do a grand finale he snuck  into the kitchen and took a cake from the kitchen and smashed it into his face

John Dory was relieved ,he had  thought Clay was gonna smash the cake  into his face.

Branch began to laugh happily clapping as he laughed 

Clay wipes the cake from his face and went to Pick up branch making a series of goofy faces. Branch laughed so hard he started to hiccup. Clay chuckles and tickled  branch ,then branch giggling, smiled and hugged Clay who chuckled. "Do you feel better branch? Did we get rid of your blues"

Branch nodded. "I feel a lot better I guess I needed to laugh." Clay smiled he looked at the clock and decided just this once it wouldn't hurt to be just a few minutes late to his book club.
