" I...uh...woke you up screaming...then stole your shirt and harassed your brother. It's not the kind of 'morning after' that most guys are into. "

"A knife blessed with the blood of the righteous?" Dean breathed out, then took his knife and sliced along his forearm. Sam did the same, taking out his knife.
Sunny stared at them blankly.
"You think that'll work?" She asked Sam. He nodded.
"I'm no saint - but I save people. It's gotta count for something."
Sunny nodded, taking her knife and placing it on her arm. She began dragging down, wincing at the pain.
"Bobby, got something for Stoney Hills?" Sam called, placing his bloodied knife on the coffee table. Bobby came in, carrying an old map.
"Yeah...an old hospital. It's real isolated from the town. That's where it'd be." Bobby replied. Sunny nodded.
"Let's get going." She replied, tucking her blood drenched knife in her holster. The boys nodded, Dean and Bobby disappearing out of the house, leaving Sam and Sunny alone.
"Listen, I'm sorry for this morning." Sunny gulped, facing Sam. Sam ran his hands through his hair.
"Sorry for what?" He innocently replied, placing his hands in his pocket.
"I...uh...woke you up screaming...then stole your shirt and harassed your brother. It's not the kind of 'morning after' that most guys are into." Sunny chuckled sheepishly.
Sam shook his head.
"Don't be sorry." Sam reassured, giving her an embarrassed smile. Sunny shyly smiled, looking up at Sam.
"Listen...I don't know what this is...or if this even is something. All I know is that I need you right now. I need you with me." This was the first time in forever that Sunny had done this. She didn't want to be dependent but right now, the one thing she had left in the world was gone. Her sister was gone and she needed to be clear with Sam.
"I'm going to be honest with you..." Sam started. "Now I don't know if last night meant anything to you...but it sure as hell meant something to me." Sam trailed off, thinking about the right things to say. "I'm with you. Okay? I'm with you."
For a while, Sunny just stared at him, embracing this beautiful man standing before her. She didn't believe in love at first sight but she sure was close to believing it. Sam stepped forward, wrapping his arms around her and holding her tight.
"Listen Sunny." He whispered, resting his chin on her head. "We're gonna get your sister back. We're gonna get her and she's gonna be just fine. I promise."

Sam should have known better than to make promises he couldn't keep. Truth was, he was terrified.
