" One break in concentration and they'll make you see the devil rip your heart out through your kneecaps. "

They ventured inside the school, Sunny holding her knife and Sam holding out his gun.
"So..." Sam started, the two of them walking into the hall. "This should be it, shouldn't it?" He looked around, Sunny approaching the wall. She ran her fingers along the wall.
"Crap." Sunny hissed, watching the symbols on the wall begin to glow.
"What does it mean?" Sam questioned, peering over at them.
"It means we hit the jackpot."

The two of them turned around slowly, analysing all of the symbols on the walls.
As they walked backwards, the biggest symbol in the centre of the room started to glow a bright red.
"Heads up," Sunny hissed, standing closer to Sam.
"That thing means they're here." she added. Goosebumps rose on the back of Sam's neck and his quickly dismissed it, readying himself for a fight.
Sam raised his brow, looking around the somewhat empty room.
"Here, as in, inside the school?"
Sunny gulped, watching the symbol get brighter, to the point where she had to shield her eyes.
"No, as in, inside this room."

Just as if on cue, dozens of witches appeared, standing in rows. All of which, stared dead-set at Sunny and Sam with their hands splayed.
Sunny closed her eyes, concentrating on the false illusion. Sam, on the other hand, doubled down in pain, spitting out his own blood, his own teeth.
"SAM!" Sunny growled, pointing her gun at the witches and cocking it. "GET UP! THATS AN ILLUSION. THERE IS NO BLOOD."
Sam blinked, pulling himself up. As he came to realisation that their spells were illusions, the taste of blood in his mouth disappeared. He pointed his gun at the nearest witch and fired. It was odd, they were all just standing there, in the firing line.
"But I knew that it was fake?" He claimed, cocking his gun and shooting once more.
"They're strong. One break in concentration and they'll make you see the devil rip your heart out through your kneecaps." Sunny exaggerated. Sam creased his brow in response.
The witches stopped splaying their hands, dropping them by their side. With only ten or so of them left, half of the witches sprinted out of the room. The rest, however, stood strong before Sam and Sunny.
"Lets do this." Sunny growled, sprinting forward. She high kicked the first witch, a middle aged woman with bright red hair. The woman caught Sunny's foot, bringing her down to the ground. Sunny fell, letting out an explicit as she did so, yanking the witch down with her. As the witch went to pull out a blade, Sunny spun around, wrapping her legs around the witch's head and squeezing. The witch choked, dropping her knife with weak hands. As Sunny continued to strangle the witch with her legs, another came running towards her. With a pissed growl, she took out her gun and fired a single shot straight at it's chest. Then, once the witch in her grip fell limp, Sunny released her.

Sam, on the other hand, delivered a punch to the nearest witch's chest, shoving him backwards and wrapping his hand around it's neck. Then, he took out his knife, pushing it into his chest.
Sunny cocked her gun, pointing and shooting, successfully taking care of the last witch.
She dusted herself off, tossing Sam a round of bullets.
"Not bad." She smirked, closing in the space between the two of them.
Sam half-smiled, hanging his head back in exhaustion.
"Where did the rest of them go?" He questioned, returning to his battle stance.
Sunny looked around, her eyes landing on the gymnasium door.
"Yeah, here they are."
The four witches entered the hall once more. The ones who ran. Now, they floated inches above the ground. The witches of Somnium began to glide closer to Sunny and Sam, which made the two of them cock their weapons in response.
Sam grunted, going to shoot his gun. To his shock, it melted into silver syrup right before him.
"This isn't real." He grunted, reaching for his gun. "My gun is still in my hand."
Despite believing it, the gun didn't appear back in his hand. Sunny glared at the witches, pulling out her own gun. With a swift hand movement from one of the witches, the gun goes flying across the room.
She glanced at Sam, confused.
Anger spread through Sunny as she took a step forward. Before she could get anywhere, her muscles seize and she crumbles to the ground, gasping in pain.

In a mix of complete agony and pain, Sunny skidded her knife across the ground to Sam.
"Kill them!" She shouted, gritting her teeth and rolling around in pain.
Sam stepped forward, readying to sprint to the witches. He doesn't make even one step before his heart feels as if it's exploding in his chest. He coughed, spitting out blood and exploded fragments of his own heart.
Sunny continued to scream out in agony, watching as the witches reared in closer.
"IT'S NOT REAL." Sunny shouted, with desperation in her eyes as she continued to cough up yellow pus.
The witch stepped forward, pressing his knife to Sunny's throat.
"Yes, I believe it is." He stated, pushing the knife closer to her throat.
"SUNNY!" Sam growled, his voice echoing through
the hall as he watched the witch press it deeper.

Suddenly, the symbols on the wall started to fade, as if the damage done to the brick were reversing.
Sam's gun appeared in his hands as the blood and heart on the floor began to fade. The pain in Sunny's body started to calm. She blinked, shoving the witch back.
He stumbled backwards, splaying his hand as he scrambled away, fear in his eyes like the young witch yesterday. Sam stood up, pulling Sunny up with him.
They step forward.
"No! My magic!" The witch hissed. The three witches behind him fell to the ground. They splayed their hands and howled in response when nothing happened.
Sunny took a step forward, pressing her gun to the witches head. She took a deep breath in, pulling the trigger.
Sam stared, then took out his gun and pointed it at the second witch.
BOOM!
BOOM!
