" My ass is fine...thanks. "
"Ah...I'll have one large Teriyaki Chicken sushi roll." Jolie told the waiter, watching as he jotted it down on his notepad.
"Eating large, are we?" Sunny teased. Jolie turned around, glaring at her sister.
"Seriously, watch you order two of them." She snarled.
Sunny pushed the hair off of her shoulder.
"Actually...I'm getting a burger."
Jolie rolled her eyes, sliding in the seat beside her sister and the seat across from Sam.
The two brothers ordered their own food, Dean ordering everyone at the table a beer.
"So, what brought you guys to this hunt?" Sam meant to ask both of the sisters but it ended up seeming like it was directed at Sunny.
"We just finished up a case with a shifter and saw it in the papers. Simple as that." Sunny answered, sipping at her beer. Sam nodded. Dean glanced over at Sam, smirking.
"And you guys are full time hunters now?" Dean inquired. Though he meant to ask both of the sisters, he pretty much only asked Jo.
"Yeah. Inherited a bunch of money when Sun turned sixteen. It's more than enough for us to not work. We hunt full-time, yeah."
Dean nodded. "Same here."
Sunny smiled in response.
"So, you still keep in touch with Bobby. How is he going?" She asked. Dean shrugged.
"He's saved our asses more times than we can count." Dean answered.
"Still keeps photo's of you around the place." Sam added. Jo smiled, looking down at her hands.
"We meant to come by and check on him...things just came by." Jo felt bad saying that. "Things just went off."
Oh boy, Sam really wanted to ask exactly what went off.
The waitress came, carrying the sushi and the burgers. Everybody thanked her, practically drooling at their food.
"So how's your dad going?" Sunny asked, reaching for her burger. While Dean shovelled down his food, Sam answered.
"Uh, he passed a little while ago." Things went awfully quiet as Sam broke the news.
"Oh." Jo muttered. "I'm so sorry."
"Don't worry about it." Dean interrupted, in between chews. Dean wasn't trying to brush off his own fathers death- rather change the subject entirely. Jo picked at her sushi.
"You gonna eat or pick it like its roadkill?" Sunny mumbled to her sister.
"Not really all that hungry." Jo quietly replied, the atmosphere changing.
"So apart from hunting, what have you guys been up to?" Sam questioned. Jolie shrugged.
"We hunt like crazy. Work out. Train. Eat, sleep, hunt." Jo replied. Sam nodded.
Sunny went to wipe her face with a napkin, then took another sip of her beer.
"Never thought of settling down? The odd thought has gotta come by at least once, right?" Sam inquired slyly.
"She's single." Jo interrupted. Sunny nudged her. Jo winced, biting down on her tongue to stay silent. Sam laughs at Jo, sharing quick eye contact with Dean.
"So Sam, I gotta ask. How's your ass doing? I mean, it looks great and all- but the emotional scarring has gotta still be there." Jo teased, flicking her chocolate brown ringlets back. Sunny blushed at the question. Sam, however, went completely red. He let out a nervous chuckle. Dean, on the other hand, exploded in laughter.
"Yeah, Sammy. How's the toosh?" Dean taunted, banging the table in enjoyment.
Sam looked down, clearly embarrassed.
"My ass is fine...thanks." He quietly replied, glancing up at Sunny. In response, Sunny smirked at him.
"Sorry Sam. I don't know what I was thinking..."
Dean chuckled. "I do! You were thinking, who is this nerd with the thick book and the weird hair."
Jo laughed, watching Dean.
"No. I'm sure your hair was fine." Sunny responded, brushing hair out of her own face.
"It was a little long for a while back there." Sam trailed off. Jo smiled, glancing over at Dean. She wondered, had he noticed her extra curly eyelashes? Her lip balm? Or was it that thing with guys? They never really do notice...
"Well if we're throwing it back to the prehistoric times, Jo. Dean! When you kiss girls and they ask you why you're so good, do you tell them it's cause a ten year old taught you in an attic?"
"Hey!" Jo protests. Honestly, she could stab her sister...but fair enough. Now they were even.
"Yeah- but I was a protégée to begin with, right?" Dean contended, batting his eyelashes at Jo.
"Yeah." She stated, blushing. "You kinda were."
"Hm." Dean smirked, clearing his throat in pride.
"It was fun, even if it's hazy." Sunny added. "Bobby would shout us pizza and we'd sit by the fireplace. Play poker, scrabble. We'd forget that there were monsters, shifters...demons. It was fun."
Dean held up his beer. "Second that."
Jo first, then Sam, then Sunny. They toasted their beers.
"We ought to do it again sometime. I'm sure Bobby has the cards somewhere." Sam grinned. Sunny and Jo fell silent.
"Yeah...I don't think he'd want us around." Sunny mumbled.
Dean and Sam both knew better than to ask about it but boy were they dying to.
A loud ring came from Dean's side of the table. He pulled out his phone, checking the caller ID.
"It's Bobby." He told them, looking to Sunny and Jo for confirmation that it was okay to answer.
"Go ahead. Take it." Sunny told him.
Dean took the call.
"Bobby, hey." He spoke into the phone.
"Hey Dean. You should come over here, I got someone who'd really like to meet you. It's...uh...real funky town round here."
Dean's blood ran cold.
"Bobby, are you okay?" Dean urged, his playful voice going serious.
"Just get here by nightfall. Okay?" and with that, the hang-up tone filled Deans ear.
"Damnit Bobby!" Dean cursed, slamming his phone on the table.
"What is it?" Sam questioned, now worried too.
"It's Bobby. He's in trouble."
