" Calm down Sammy. You don't even know the girl yet... "
Dean shut the door, starting up the Impala.
"Good god." Dean mumbled. "The heavens have just sent us a package- in the form of two sisters."
Sam chuckled, glancing over at his big brother and slumping in his seat.
"I did not expect them to look like that. Not that I remember them too well." Sam noted.
Dean nodded. "Sammy, brother. I think your brain has a way of suppressing memories that traumatise you. You, my friend, got your ass shot with a BB gun by one of those very angels in the car right behind us."
"Sunny, right? Apparently she hated me." Sam felt a little tug at his chest as he said that.
"Oh, hate is an understatement. As things go, Sammy, I think we should set things clear."
"I bags Sun-" Sam began.
"Dibs on Jol-" Dean began.
The two brothers turned their heads at each other, smiling in response.
"I think we chose our fates back in the day. That scar on your ass means you claimed Sunny. So fair do's, she's yours." Dean explained.
Sam nodded, smiling proudly.
"And god knows what you did with that ten year old in Bobby's attic, so I guess you claimed Jolie. So it's settled, then?" Sam suggested. Dean nodded in response, then bloomed ear to ear with a toothy grin.
"So what do we do?" Dean asked his brother.
Sam shrugged.
"We're suppose to be eating lunch with them. Where are we going to go?" Sam asked Dean, watching Dean's chuffed expression in the mirror.
"There was that killer burger joint we ate at yesterday." Dean suggested. Sam shook his head.
"That place does't agree with your stomach." He simply stated.
"What do you mean it doesn't agree with my stomach?!" Dean exclaimed, clearly insulted.
"It...it...it just doesn't." Sam blurted.
Dean frowned.
"Whatever. We'll go to that place." He pointed to a small Japanese restaurant at the corner of the road. Sam nodded, checking to see if the sisters were still following behind. His heart fastened when he saw that they were. The two of them, laughing together in the car. He wondered if they were talking about him and his brother. If maybe they were calling dibs as well. Sam smiled to himself, shaking his head. Yeah...he doubted they were.
"She's beautiful." Sam mumbled to himself, watching Sunny in the rearview mirror, as she joked along with her sister as if they were best friends. Jolie's heels on the dash of the car- her wide grin.
"Calm down Sammy. You don't even know the girl yet." Dean teased. Sam elbowed his brother.
"Shut up." Sam defended, rolling his eyes.
"I'd tell you to shut up- but I don't wanna even think about what you'll be thinking about if you do. So lets keep the conversation moving."
Sam scoffed. "Yeah, right."
"Come on. Talk to me, brother."
With Sam's focus still on Sunny, he played along with Dean's request.
"How come Bobby never talks about them? He must have cared about them if he took care of the sisters for years, maybe even more than we think."
Dean shrugged.
"Maybe it hurts him. You know? They don't speak anymore, god knows why. Maybe he really did care about them...and he lost them. That's gotta sting."
"But why?" Sam marvelled. He knew his brother wouldn't have a clue but Sam had to say it out loud. If he didn't, his thoughts and questions would just remain loud in his head- screaming to be answered.
"Why are you askin' me? Ask Bobby. This ain't my business." Dean hissed.
"But don't you wanna know?" Sam pried, sitting up as Dean pulled up in front of the restaurant.
"Course I do- but I know it ain't somethin' I can ask over a beer and some take-away. Let's just take this one step at a time."
"Fine." Sam huffed, un-buckling his seat-belt.
"And try not to make them mad. Hot stuff has one hell of a headlock."
