Haruna's PoV
Lately, I've been noticing some weird things. Well, not really weird. They're actually sweet gestures. Ever since we came back from Osaka, these weird things have been more evident than before.
Sometimes, I'd stay up late at the living room to work on some client files and I'd wake up with a blanket over me. Sometimes, I'd fall asleep in my room while playing video games and wake up to see a note reminding me to take off my contacts before I really go to sleep.
I don't really know who does these things, but it's so sweet that I can't really see it as a freaky thing unlike how others may view it.
I went to work and as usual, I was up all night so I rushed to the hospital. I logged myself in and inserted my card.
"'Morning, Doctor Yuigahama." I greeted.
"Good morning and perfect timing. I needed the files for your patients. A new nurse is here to help take care of them." He said.
"Oh, I didn't bring them. I was still filing it up and changing the records." I said.
"Are you sure?" He asked.
I then took off my backpack and opened it to see my records inside my bag.
"Oh.. it's here. That's funny. I don't remember placing this in my bag." I said as I handed him my folder.
"Maybe your job of being a psychologist is rubbing of on you, princess." He said as he accepted my folder then ruffled my hair.
Doctor Yuigahama and I go way back. He's like an older brother to me. Well, so is Masaomi, but I wasn't very in touch with Doctor Yuigahama from the start.
Wait. More importantly, who in the world put my files into my bag? Darn. Here's that weird invisible person again. But he or she is actually pretty helpful.
I shrugged the thought off then went to visit my patients for the day.
A week then passed, and the more careless I get, the more the invisible person keeps helping me. I even made a list of the things that happened.
• When I forgot to turn off the TV, it was off when I woke up.
• When I remembered that I left my car key inside my jeans that I out in the laundry, my car key was on the key rack.
• When I was cleaning up Wataru's toys and I had to take a phone call, after the call, the toys were all cleaned up.
• When I was getting ready for work, but had to go downstairs to set the table. When I went downstairs, the table was already set.
• When Masaomi called me from work when I was at home and told me to prepare dinner for everyone, the refrigerated goods were already laid out on the kitchen counter.
• When I said I'd buy Hikaru's new novel, he said that he left it for me on his desk in his room. The next morning, I saw the book on my desk in my room. I asked Hikaru if he put it there, but he said no.
Ugh. Okay, this will contradict what I said earlier, but I can't help it. This is getting freaky. It's kind and sweet, but this is getting out of hand. So, I decided to interview everyone one by one.
Today was my day off so I decided to do my best to find out who it is. This is my opportunity since I was alone at home.
"Hey guys!" I greeted as I grabbed my car keys.
First, I asked Ema and Yuusuke while I drove them to school.
"Have you guys noticed the weird, but simple little things that have been occuring?" I asked as I focused on the road.
"Well, we're mostly busy with school so we don't notice the things that happen at home." Yuusuke said.
"Yeah. We want to pay attention to them, but we're really packed with projects, tests, and homework. Sorry." Ema said.
They said that they haven't noticed anything and that they haven't been paying attention to household related matters. Well, that's a bummer -,-
Then, I asked Wataru as I walked him to school.
"Hey, Wataru. Have you felt some little things that help you lately?" I asked.
"Forget about that, Ha-tan! Yesterday, I caught a ladybug at the school yard! Our teacher kept it in a jar! We all take turns with bringing it home!" Wataru exclaimed with a large grin as his grip on my hand tightened.
That was no use either. He kept telling me stuff about school, but it was pretty cute though.
While I was eating lunch, I called Hikaru.
"Hi, Hikaru. I was wondering if you have noticed anything different at the household. Like maybe small gestures of help or care? I'm trying to get to the bottom of these little things that have been happening lately." I said.
"I was just reading a detective story. This is such on perfect timing. Yeah, I did feel that too. Like someone is looking after things around the house. But what happened last week was the freakiest I've ever seen so far." He said.
He was just reading a novel about mystery solving so my questions sparked his interest. He said that he has observed a slightly different atmosphere at home. He also said that the weirdest thing that he noticed was when the book that I was supposed to get from him was already in my room.
After that, I called Tsubaki and Azusa at work.
"Hey guys. Can I ask something? Did you guys notice some things that help lately? Like simple things that make things a little easier?" I asked.
"Hm? I don't know. Well, I think maybe I've seen things like that for a few times now.— Hey Tsubaki!-" Azusa said as he was being cut off by Tsubaki who was grabbing the phone.
"Hey, Haruna! I got the lead in a new anime! Azusa has good news as well! He has a recording for a new drama CD from the anime that he's currently been working on! Isn't that great? Haha!" Tsubaki exclaimed.
Well that didn't help. I didn't get much from them. Ehhhh, actually, Azusa was the only one I got information from between the two. He said that he has noticed things like that as well. On the other hand, the hopeless Tsubaki just kept bragging about how he got the lead in an audition for a new anime and he bragged Azusa's special drama CD for his character in a new anime as well.
While I was preparing dinner, Fuuto called on perfect timing.
"Hey, Haru-san, can you pack one of my shirts and an extra towel? I'm heading to my concert right now. I'll pick it up after since I still have to go back to work." He said.
"Sure. Hey, can I ask you something? At home, have you ever noticed some things being done before you know it? Like simple chores or something that's already been done?" I asked.
"None that I know of. Why? Is there something wrong?" He asked.
"No, never mind. I'll get your stuff ready. Bye." I said then hung up.
After dinner, I made some calls to work then headed back to my room. I happened to run into Subaru whose room is at the end of the hall. He was about to enter his room. He came from a party at school so he was still wearing his tux.
"Hey, Subaru. Do you have a moment?" I asked as I walked over to him.
"Sure, is there something wrong?" He asked.
No PoV
"I've been wondering.." She said as she tucked a strand of her hair back.
"Have you noticed the small gestures that someone has been doing? A couple of times, I'd fall asleep in the living room and I'd wake up with a blanket on top of me." I said.
He suddenly blushed.
"A-Actually, Ha-Haru-san, t-that was me.." he shyly admitted.
"What about my car keys?" I asked.
"That was me too.." he said as he scratched the back of his neck.
I suddenly blushed then thanked him.
"Thank you so much, Subaru! I cannot thank you enough." She said as she slightly bowed then immediately lifted her head up.
"It's nothing... for you, I'd do it again and again."
She felt happy that someone was willing to do things for her.
"Thank you, Subaru." She said with a smile.
To her surprise, he hugged her. She was shocked at first, but then she smiled and hugged back.
Subaru was blushing hard, but grinning like an idiot as well.
