It was a normal evening - atleast for Felix. Felix, with his infectious laughter and a mischievous glint in his eyes, pointed towards a charming little cafe. The same one him and Han had first gone to. "Let's grab a cheesecake for Han," he suggested, his voice laced with a warmth that made Chris's heart flutter.
As they settled into a cozy corner, Chris felt a familiar nervousness creeping in. He had been planning this moment for weeks, every detail meticulously orchestrated. He wanted it to be perfect, a reflection of the love he cherished for Felix.
"Felix," he began, his voice a little shaky, "There's something I've been wanting to tell you…" Felix, ever perceptive, raised an eyebrow, a playful smile gracing his lips. "Spill it, Chris. You're making me nervous."
Taking a deep breath, Chris pulled out a small velvet box from his pocket. His hands trembled slightly as he opened it, revealing a stunning sapphire ring nestled on a bed of white satin. Felix's eyes widened in surprise, his breath catching in his throat.
"Felix," Chris continued, his voice filled with emotion, "I know we've been through a lot, and I know I messed things up before. But being with you, even as friends, has been the greatest joy of my life. You make me laugh until my sides ache, you challenge me to be a better person, and you love me unconditionally despite all my flaws. And for the first time in my life, I know with absolute certainty that I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
He paused, his gaze locked with Felix's. The cafe, with its bustling chatter and gentle music, seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them in a world of their own. Felix, his eyes shimmering with unshed tears, reached out and gently took Chris's hand.
"Chris," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion, "I… I don't even know what to say."
Chris smiled, his heart overflowing with a love he thought he might never experience again. "You don't have to say anything. Just tell me… will you be my boyfriend?"
A tear escaped Felix's eye, rolling down his cheek. He looked at Chris, his love and gratitude shining in his eyes. "Yes, Chris," he breathed, his voice barely audible, "Yes, a thousand times yes."
Chris slipped the ring onto Felix's finger, the sapphire sparkling brilliantly in the soft cafe light. As they embraced, their laughter mingling with the gentle hum of the city, Chris knew this was just the beginning of their happily ever after.
