Part 2

A young man with more piercings than most of the kids of his school have just moved into town.

He wasn't a friendly fellow and would often get into fights with people. He does have a soft spot for his little brother however.

He's the kind of guy that has seen the world and hates it with all he has. He wasn't so bad when he was younger and more naïve and certainly more trusting, that changed after the birth of his little brother.

He doesn't like to think about what happened to lead him to this point where he took his little brother away. He thinks about it anyway because that's how his mind works.

He currently sits on a wooden box in his new house and lights a cigarette to destress.

He noticed his little brother approach him, he quickly snuffs the cigarette out. He hears his brother call out to him.

"Big brother?", questioned his brother.

He lets out a large smile, "Baby cakes!", he greets.

"Brother, where is mother?", asked his little brother.

He stopped smiling and stayed quiet for a moment. He had to think carefully and calmly. He couldn't tell him the truth so he had to think of a lie.

He lifted up a sticky note pad without any further thoughts.

"Oh the folks are working. They don't have time to be at the house, but if you write a note they will respond. Here, write a note and later you will get a reply.", he said.

His brother lit up at the idea and hugged him. He pat his head. His brother quickly let go and grabbed the sticky note pad to start writing.

"Thank you, Redd! I am going to write to them right a way!", his brother exclaimed.

Redd chuckled and watched him scamper up stairs. His smile drop the moment he was gone. He sighed and decided to finish unpacking.
