~ I Gonna Follow My Heart Right Back To You ~ ( Part 2 )

When they arrived at the village, the sun was already rising. Branch jumped to the ground and began barking against the flying insect. He didn't like the trip, hanged to Poppy moaning in fear.

- Leave him alone! Poppy laughed as the gray troll stood like a cat trying to scare an opponent.

Several trolls from the village went to the Snack Pack, intrigued. Who was this black-haired gray troll, who had just hidden behind their princess, on all fours? The wild troll moaned in fear as Poppy approached an old orange-skinned troll. He relaxed a little while feeling the good odor of fruit that emanated from the male, he following the pink troll up close.

- Who is this troll and why he is so... strange? King Pepy asked his daughter.

- It's Branch, the child who was captured by a Bergen! He is still alive!

His ear understood one word of this sentence, Branch ... His name! It had been so long since he had not heard it! He rolled on his back and stared at the old male.

- Please, dad! He was alone in the forest, he needs our help!

The King thought for a moment and finally announced:

- We will help him! Let's start by getting rid of all this dirt! He laughed, leaning forward to ruffle the black hair of the wild troll. Branch licked his face, he liked this troll.

Later, Branch was going around in circles trying to scratch his back. Poppy smiled at him and replaced the sleeve of his jacket. After a good bath, Satin and Chenille had made his clothes: shorts and a leaves jacket that allowed her to walk on all fours comfortably. The gray troll had panicked so much that we were washing him and trying to get him to wear new clothes that Poppy had to stay with him, trying to hide her eyes so as not to see ... You know what.

Branch gave up his game and headed for a tree under the curious gaze of the princess. He tore the moss off the trunk, took it in his mouth, and put it in the little home that the village trolls had built for him. He flattened it and scratched his ear with his foot before observing the village.

- You'll see, you'll love this place! Poppy assured him.

Branch grunted and stood up to explore his new environment. Poppy pointed at her pod:

- This is my home, my house, Poppy.

To her surprise, Branch opened his mouth slightly and tried to articulate:

- 'oppy!

She leaned toward him, a smile on her face.

- "Poppy," she encouraged him.

- Po ... ppy ... Poppy!

He seemed proud of him. He began to jump, shouting her name with joy:

- POPPY, POPPY, POPPY!

She laughing. Branch seemed to like learning things.

All of a sudden, the gray troll's ears stopped shaking for a few seconds. Poppy frowned as her new friend headed for a mushroom crawling almost to the ground. Branch began to turn around the mushroom sniffing the grass and Poppy understood that he was following: a child was trying to hide so as not to be found by the black-haired troll! Branch turned at the last moment and jumped on the child to flatten him on the ground and licked his face. The little green troll burst out laughing trying to push him away as his friends came to try to free him.

Branch ran off happily followed by the other children who were trying to catch him, laughing.

- It looks like he loves to play with them! Someone laughed next to the princess.

- You're right, GD.

The glitter-skinned troll smiled even more when Branch covered his eyes so that the children would go and hide.

- I can't believe that he is able to survive all his years, it's just ... Impossible to believe! Poppy said

She noticed that since their arrival, the skin and hair of the wild troll was slightly colored blue.

- Do you know what your father planned to help him become ... Normal?

Poppy replied:

- He told me he would ask a teacher to teach him to read and write. He told me that I should stay with him because he seems to feel better when I'm close ... But before he has to learn to pronounce a few words.

- It should not be difficult! Just now, he was screaming your name! laughing the glitter troll, will you teach him how to walk?

Branch gave another happy bark when one of the children came out of his hiding place.

- My father says that by observing everyone, he will learn on his own. He does not worry about that.

When night came, Branch snored in his bed of moss and leaves. Poppy went home, hoping the gray troll would not panic if he realized she was no longer there.

She dropped to her bed with a big smile on her face. She was going to sleep, but she suddenly opened her eyes when she heard a strange noise coming from outside. She got up and widened her eyes as she saw Branch coming in through the window!

- How did you manage to get there? You know how to climb trees?

She held a grimace of disgust, noting that Branch had a dead fish in his mouth. He laid his prey on his bed and took out the tongue from his mouth, proud of his gift.

- Uuuh ... No thanks, I don't eat fish.

Branch tilted his head to the side and out through the window before returning with a firefly - alive - in his mouth. In front of the horrified face of the pink troll, he released it and grabbed a bay on the branch of the tree. He dropped it on her lap and the pretty troll ate it.

- Thanks Branch. You should go back to sleep now.

All he had understood was the word "sleep". The pink troll lay down and she was surprised: Branch snuggled against her like a cat and fell asleep breathing gently against her neck. She blushed embarrassed, but his warm skin against hers warmed her and she fell asleep in his arms.

* * *

Two weeks was spend now. Branch was beginning to pronounce some words. He called all the trolls by their name or nickname he gave them. Many laughed when it was called King Pepy "Cupcake". Fortunately, the orange troll also laughed at this nickname.

Every day, the gray troll played hide-and-seek with the children of the village, went to see a school teacher accompany the princess to learn to read and write ...

- It's a pencil, it's to write, do you understand? Try!

Branch sniffed the wooden stick before taking it in his mouth and start rubbing the paper with it. Poppy laughing next to him.

... Then he ended the day by bringing berries to Poppy and then falling asleep in his room, snuggling on a pillow.

He had not learned a word to describe the feeling he felt when he was with her. He had the impression that a flame burned his stomach from the inside and something was starting to beat twice as fast in his chest. He had nicknamed this feeling "Boom Boom".

The purple troll approached his shelter. Poppy looked up from the book she was reading and smiled at him.

- Fish! He cried when Creek come, nodding slightly. It was the nickname he gave him.

He was trying to look nice to him. He always felt ashamed to have bitten him in the leg ... even though his fishy smell continued to irritate his throat.

But this time, his smell was hiding something else ... He sniffed the air while the two trolls began to discuss:

- You know Poppy, you spend a lot of time with this little monster.

The princess frowned. Creek always called Branch "little monster" since he had met him.

- Creek, he's not a monster. You know it well!

The male had started to feel anger even though his face looked calm. He groaned but was silent to see what "Fish" was going to do ...

- I remind you that he hurt me! His murderous instinct is still in him! Look, for example, he's still eating meat! He has a taste for blood!

- He started eating his meat cooked three days ago, Creek! And what's more, this morning I saw him eating berries that the children gave him!

They talked about him and apparently, "Fish" did not say anything good because "monster" seemed to be an insult. The groan returned to vibrate in his throat and the purple troll turned to him:

- I'll prove to them who you really are!

With these words he came out of his home. Branch began to bark with fury but Poppy stopped him:

- Shhh, I'm sure he did not really think what he said!

- Bad! he growled, looking at Poppy. Me, not monster!

She stroked his cheek and rested her forehead against him's for him to calm down. The strange feeling burned inside his chest again and he murmured:

- Boom Boom...

Poppy did not understand what he meant by "boom boom", but that was not important. Branch licked her face again and she laughed before getting up to go home and Branch got up on all fours but the princess stopped him, once again:

- Tonight, you have to stay here, do you understand?

- Why? Me, wants come with Poppy. Protect Poppy.

Her cheeks turned red as she heard his words. She leaned toward him and replaced one of his locks of hair, smiling tenderly. She also didn't know what was the strange feeling that made her blush.

- You see? You can see my pod from here. You can better watch over me if you see the dangers happen, right?

He nodded and lay down on his pile of moss, watching her go under the light of the setting sun.

- Boom boom ... he murmured to himself before fall asleep, despite himself ...

* * *

A strange noise woke him in the middle of the night. Branch raised his head, grumbling, there was an intruder, a familiar smell floating in the air. He stopped grumbling as he recognized the smell:

- Fish! He said

Creek stepped toward him. He felt the same as the last time he saw her: anger.

Branch got up immediately, that anger was against him! He hissed like a cat to warn him to stay away from him, but he kept getting closer.

- Why are you mad at me? I brought you a gift!

He was holding a piece of meat in his hand. Branch sniffed it, it was a mouse but it gave off a strange smell ...

- No! he roared, stepping back against the wall.

But Creek continued to get closer to the gray troll, so it began to bark so loudly that lights began to light in the village. Creek was getting closer to him and he panicked; the wild troll jumped on him, roaring with fury.

- What's going on here? asked a green troll with pale blue hair in his pajamas.

Branch had plated Creek to the ground, the mouse was falling into a corner. When the gray troll noticed the trolls looking around his home, he moaned and hid in the shadows. Creek recoiled, dragging his leg behind him ... it was only then that Branch noticed that the purple troll had slipped on the yellow trousers that he had broken in the evening when he bitten him. He had added false blood to make his wound look even worse!

A troll tried to look at the wound but Creek took his leg in his hands screaming in pain.

- He bit me! he screamed

Cries of panic began to roam the crowd. Branch moaned again, muttering:

- Bad... Me, bad ...

That's when Poppy and Pepy arrived. Poppy ran to him and he snuggled against her. Several trolls began to panic:

- It's a monster!

- We must send him back where he comes from!

- We must move him away from the village!

- This gray troll will end up killing us all!

Branch hid even more behind Poppy. Pepy tried to calm the trolls of the village:

- Listen to me! Creek, did you do something that could scare him?

- I had come to bring him food ... Ouch ... he growled simulating the pain in his leg.

Poppy turned his head towards Branch, he moaned:

- Lie ... Fish lie ... Mouse, bad ...

The princess seemed to understand, but nothing changed the fact that Creek had actually been bitten by the wild troll. She felt her heart squeeze, what would they do to Branch? The Trolls were still screaming that they had to send him back from where he was coming from ...

- OKAY! screamed King Pepy. If Branch can not get up on his legs before tomorrow, we ... we will send him back to the forest!

Satisfied, the trolls returned home. "Cupcake" came to them, with a guilty look.

- I'm sorry Poppy ... it was the only way to calm them down ...

Poppy stroked the black hair of the gray troll, she had an air of determination;

- I'll teach him how to walk! she said

Walk?

The moon shone between the stars. Poppy continued to pull Branch's hands to stand up, but he sat on the floor, not understanding what she expected of him.

- Standing! On your legs, please!

In spite of her efforts, Branch remained on all fours. She ended up crying and sitting on the floor. Branch worried at once and moaned, raised her head with his forehead. He wanted to help her but he did not understand what she wanted. Poppy leaned her forehead against him's:

- Please.... you have to walk!

- Not understand Poppy, moaned he

She smiles between her tears. Branch lifted one of his hands and pushed one of the tears from her face with the back of his hand. Poppy dropped to his chest, crying:

- What am I going to do without you?

He put his chin on the head of the princess, murmuring these words for a thousand times:

- Boom Boom...

- Boom Boom, she murmured, not knowing it was the words that described how she felt about the gray troll.
