"it's so cold~"

jae lay atop his comforter, nestling his face into his pillow in a sort of plea for warmth to flood into his ice-like cheeks. the heaters had been switched off for repairs that week, and jae was having none of it. brian was doing his best to study for a test he had in a few days. his fleece jacket and a mug of hot chocolate seemed to be keeping him fairly safe from the bite of the bitter winter air. the older boy, meanwhile, was practically dying because of the lack of heat in their room.

"i'm freezing..."

"go take a hot shower." brian tiredly flipped to the next page of his macroeconomy textbook, his thumb slicked with a thin sheet of rapidly coldening saliva. his finger twitched when he haphazardly brought it over the edge of the paper. he hissed. a red dot appeared, dropped down atop a stray "j" on the employment graph.

"i just took one, though... the hot water's out." jae's sigh drifted through the air, clear now that the pillow lay beside him, as if contemplating all the world.

a rustle of pages signaled brian's depart from his work. with the slit finger residing between his lips for relief, the brunette stood from his chair and shuffled towards his bed. studying could wait for a more suitable day. now, it was time for sleep. "why don't you just go to sleep, then?" he murmured from around his thumb, the sounds muffling together. "when you're asleep, you don't notice what's bothering you." the boy clambered beneath his plaid blanket with a contented sigh. finally — what he had been waiting for the entire day...

jae looked up at the ceiling a bit longer. why did brian have to be so right all the time? a shiver passed over his body, leaving trails of goosebumps over his skin. he soon turned to face the younger boy, whose eyes were already closed in a warm welcome to sleep. jae propped his chin up on his hand. brian's mouth was open a tad, and, in the tinted glow of the lamp still shining out from the work desk, the brunette looked to be soft — softer even than the pillow flanking the blonde's side.

a stray snore stirred the older boy into another shiver. jae's head tilted to the side. was his junior really asleep?? that fast?.. his blue-tinted yet curious feet touched the ground, led him towards the desk so he could switch off the bothersome light. moon rays flooded the room in their shaded glow, cool against the stark warmth of the previous light, and jae's lips spread into a quivering smile full of teeth clattering over a chapped lower lip. his gaze had found the still form resting on the bed beside his own.

brian looked surreal. his dark hair flowed around his head like a wreath of laurels, as if he had just ran a marathon and claimed the victory of the century at the ancient olympic games. lips spread red over above a well-chiseled jaw casted over with shadows. fluttering eyelashes framed by gently curving eyebrows rested at ease, holding up a strictly molded nose, and the well-sculpted hands gripping at the blanket made way for the curve of his thighs beneath the gentle fabric...

jae slunk closer to the bed, shivering, shivering. "if only you'd made me hot chocolate, too..." he puffed out a breath full of white steam and a final wish for warmth, and then his wandering fingers brushed a lock of stray hair away from those dark, surreal eyelashes. "then, maybe, i'd be as hot as you..."

warm hands suddenly clasped around his shoulders, and the blonde was propelled into brian with a gasp. "marshmallows can float on hot chocolate, right?~" came a soothing whisper. brian's eyelashes fluttered over his senior's neck as his lips let out a sigh of pure ease. a few awkward moments of shock passed before jae made himself comfortable with a contented hum, his hands rising to embrace brian's warm sides, legs resting around those beneath him, face nestling into the blue raspberry-scented hair. the younger boy's warm hands fit themselves into the fabric of jae's shirt, and, as the boys made themselves snug in each other's holds, the brunette sleepily murmured a last, "let me, hot chocolate bro, make you warm, marshmallow bro..."

jae's cheeks burned red with a sudden wave of warmth.
