"THIS IS NICE," Jax commented at their intertwined hands, the simple touch bringing him joy.

         They were lying on his bed, a wasted day of lounging and watching the Bones reruns that came on TV. Short kisses were shared, hands were held, and Jax didn't have time to think. Neither did Joe. He didn't have time to freak out or panic over everything that's happened in the past two days, mind consumed with what was happening in the moment. With them – right there, together.

         "Yeah, it is," Joe agreed, moving his thumb over Jax' hand, smiling.

         A phone buzzed and Jax turned over to see if it was his, which it was. He unlocked it and responded to whoever texted him before turning back towards Joe. "Who was it?" the Keery man asked.

         "Just Oliver complaining," Jax shrugged, "He's being whiny because he misses New York and is jealous that Evan and I are here."

         Joe hummed in understanding, "How is Evan? You two don't seem to be spending a lot time together. After all, he did fly you out here for a vacation."

         "No, he flew me out here so he could tell me something, which he did. Like, two or three days ago. And he's spending time with one of his buddies that he knows here," Jax lied, "And I've been here with you."

         He knew not to out Evan – that would be cruel. He remembered how it was when his parents found out because his boyfriend at the time decided to out them to everyone because of some vengeance he wanted to wreak on Jax. And then the bastard tried and make it all okay, saying that he was sorry and that he still loved Jax. Yeah, he was done with that trash of a guy. Fucking asshole, really.

         But Evan was having fun with Roman. They were happy and that was all that mattered. Jax didn't want to obtrude on them, and he liked being with Joe more than enough. So, it was good. This was good.

         Joe nodded, "Okay."

         "Okay," Jax repeated.

         The Keery man placed a kiss to his head and he smiled, closing his eyes in contentment.
