I panicked as I realized I've been caught staring at his lips. I turned to the left, grabbing the smoothie mixture I made earlier. My instincts failed me as I tripped over a cord, knocking the bowl over as I tried to reach for the counter.
I rubbed my head as I lifted it from the hard ground. I suddenly narrowed my eyes as I felt a cold drop hit my forehead. Jimin's clean white shirt had a giant smoothie stain on it.
"Oh my goodness." I elongated each word as I looked into his piercing eyes.
When I say he looked pissed, I meant like someone killed his pet dog kind of pissed. I got on my knees, putting my hands together.
"I'm so—so sorry." I looked into his eyes, feeling his fuming anger.
Jimin pushed his tongue into his cheek, finally locking his eyes to mine. I gave him a weak smile, flinching as he grabbed onto my shirt.
"Ow ow ow." I winced as he lifted me off the floor.
"Here's what you're gonna do." Jimin harshly scoffed. "You're gonna get me a clean shirt, and clean this shit up."
"Okay." I gave him a thumbs up, running off to the storage room.
"What do you need hun?" Amanda asked me from the front counter.
"Uh— just a plain work shirt." I tried to sound as casual as possible.
"Don't you have one on?" She raised a brow.
"Yeah, it's not for me." I shrugged my shoulders, quickly running into the back room.
"Here's your shirt." I slowly handed it to him.
Jimin set it on the counter, before lifting the stained shirt off his head. He tossed the shirt in his hand, and grabbed the clean one on the counter.
"Are you mad?" I nervously bit my lip.
Jimin looked at me, showing me that he was clearly pissed off.
"Okay then, you're still angry.." I nodded my head.
"I don't know whether I should say yes or no." He licked his lips.
"I'll take that as a no." I nudged him in his ribs.
All he did was glance at me. His eyes were as soft and innocent as they ever could be. I tried to take Hoseok's advice, but the devil on my shoulder was telling me to open up to the piece of shit.
Would u judgy ass little hoes stop attacking Rae for her choices. Ya'll want everything in this story to be perfect—like then there would be no story. And don't you dare act like you haven't made some stupid ass decisions in your life. At the end of the day, we've all got a little bit of dumbass in us (:
"What are you doing after work?" I suddenly asked him, trying to change the subject.
"Nothing new." He mumbled, taping his finger on the white counter.
"Do you wanna go somewhere?"
Jimin lowered his brow. "You're on some sort of drug, aren't you." He playfully ruffled my hair.
"I'm— being serious." I moved the messy strands of hair from my eyes.
"Why?" He softly questioned.
"Does there have to be a reason?" I chuckled at his eagerness.
"It's just not like you." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Maybe I don't want to be me today." I watched as his eyes slowly averted to mine.
"Who do you want to be?" He lowly muttered.
"Someone better—nicer, and less of a stuck up little bit—
"You're not a bitch." Jimin raised his brows, stopping me from insulting myself.
"But I thought y—
"I didn't mean what I said." He bit his lip. "I just called you that because I was pissed."
"And I didn't mean to call you bastard." I thought it'd be a good time to apologize since he was doing it anyways.
"I know." He slowly nodded. "You're too kind to mean the words you use."
I smiled at him, hoping to show him I was full of forgiveness for the things he's done in the past.
"So where do you want to go?" I asked, changing the subject.
"It doesn't matter to me." Jimin shrugged his shoulders. "I'll go where ever you go."
"Well, I know this is a lame initiative, but I actually need to buy stuff from the super market—
Jimin lightly chuckled, one that seemed so genuinely sweet.
"What?" I laughed, crossing my arms.
"That's such an odd request." He joked, making fun of my brilliant idea.
"Don't laugh at my idea." I hit his shoulder. "I need to buy drinks for the guests coming over my house."
"Like wine?" He raised a brow.
"No—no." I waved my hands. "Drinks like soda."
"Ah." He nodded, finally understanding. "When do you need to be home by?"
"They're supposed to be here at seven, but knowing them, probably seven thirty." I shrugged my shoulders.
Jimin looked down at his watch. "Then we need to leave now."
"We cant just leave work—
I squealed as Jimin grabbed my arm, pulling me towards the door. We laid flat against the wall, as he waiting for Amanda to turn her attention to a customer. I widened my eyes at him, knowing this was a bad idea. He made a quick run for it, dragging me with him.
"You're insane!" I screamed as we ran through the busy fair.
"Get used to it." He laughed, looking over his shoulder and at the smoothie stand.
Jimin let go of my hand, shuffling through his pockets for the keys to his car. He pulled the keys out, almost dropping them onto the ground.
I waited till he pressed a button, unlocking the car door. I quickly pulled the handle, opening the door and jumping into the passenger seat. Jimin slammed his door, and all that was heard was our heavy breathing.
"You ready?" He slightly smiled, still trying to catch his breath.
"Of course." I nodded, letting out a deep breath. I gripped onto the sides of my seat as he sped out of the fair, turning onto the road.
Grocery Store
6:00
"What do you need again?" Jimin asked, rummaging through magazines.
"Um— just personal things." I shrugged my shoulders.
How was I supposed to tell him I'm here to buy tampons. He's gonna make fun of me for the rest of the school year.
"Condoms?" He raised his brow. "Because I can tell you exactly where to find those—"
"No." I scrunched my nose, grabbing a basket.
"Then what?" He crossed his arms, following me into the isles.
"How about you get the drinks, so we can speed this up." I put my thumbs up, about to run off to the farthest isle.
"Wait." Jimin mumbled, reaching over the shelves.
My mouth parted as he threw a pack of condoms into the basket. "What the fuck Jimin.."
"They're not for me." Jimin insisted. "Hoseok needs some. I'm guessing him and Brooke are trying to f—
"I don't want to know." I stuck my hand out, stopping him from going over details.
Jimin gave me an odd look before walking off the the drinks isle. He picked up a six pack of Coke, and another one of Pepsi.
"Who the fuck drinks this shit." Jimin mumbled before his eyes landed on the treasury of wine bottles.
"That's more like it." He grinned.
Meanwhile, I was digging through the shelves, trying to look for the cheapest pack of tampons. I needed to pay for these before Jimin came back.
"Fuck it." I grabbed one of the boxes and rushed to the front counter.
"Did you find everything okay?" The woman politely asked.
"Yes ma'am, thanks." I smiled.
"Rae, why the fuck are you paying without me?" I heard Jimin yell as he walked towards the front counter with the soda and wine in his hands.
"Sorry, I forgot." I gulped, emptying the bucket onto the counter. The cashier raised her brows, looking down at the condoms and the tampons.
"That's just wrong on all levels..." She slowly shook her head.
"N—no, that's not ours." I tried to smile. "It's for a friend."
The woman raised her brows. "Nothing's stopping kids nowadays."
"See back in my day—
"Just give us the fucking bag." Jimin spat, cutting her off mid sentence.
"Someone's eager to get home." She pushed the bag towards him.
"I'm sorry about him." I whispered after he walked away.
"And I'm sorry you'll be having his children." She pursed her lips together, holding onto the cross around her neck. "Jesus will save you."
"Ma'am, were not sexually active." I tried to explain to her. "Well, at least I'm not."
"Boys like him need guidance in their life." She nodded. "When's the last time he's visited church?"
"Um— probably fifteen years ago." I shrugged my shoulders.
"Here." She looked around the room as if she was about to sell me drugs. "Take this pamphlet."
"Thanks." I tried to smile, before running outside to Jimin.
"Why'd you leave me in there?" I crossed my arms, as I sat down, handing him the pamphlet.
"What the hell is this?" He narrowed his eyes, flipping the paper over.
"She told me you need guidance in your life." I shrugged my shoulders, putting my seatbelt on.
Jimin crumbled the pamphlet, lowering his window to throw it out. I guess he didn't appreciate her attempt of guiding him. We were on the road again, driving back to my house.
"Wait a minute." I raised my brow, watching him stick a cigarette between his lips.
"Please don't start this again." He mumbled, reaching over for his lighter.
"I'll do it." I sighed. "Keep your hands on the wheel."
I grabbed the lighter, pushing my thumb against the latch so it sparked a flame. I carefully brought the lighter to the cigarette, waiting until I saw a stream of smoke rise. I don't understand why Jimin does drugs, let alone smoke cigarettes. He's hurting himself at such a young age, and it just pains me.
"What's wrong?" He asked, flicking the end of the cigarette to let the ashes fall out the window.
"Nothing." I gave him a weak smile.
"I'm okay with it." Jimin glanced over at me.
"H—huh?"
"Smoking." He added, seeing my confusion. "I know it's hurting me."
"So why do you do it?" I disappointedly stared at him.
"Because I'm fucking stupid." He softly chuckled, burning the cigarette out. "I taught myself that if I did drugs, all my life problems would disappear."
"You're not stupid." I rested my hand on his shoulder. "I know you've had a terrible childhood, and I'm sure it's affected you while growing up. You shouldn't blame yourself for anything that's happened."
"They divorced because of me." Jimin calmly spoke, reminiscing the bad memories. "Before my mother was an alcoholic, she would always defend me from my father. He was just fed up at one point, packed his things and never looked back."
"I—I'm sorry." I gazed into his eyes, blinking back tears.
"Don't be." He licked his lips, before giving me a light smile. "If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't be sitting here next to you."
I tried sniffling discretely, my lips forming a smile.
"Why are you crying?" Jimin laughed, letting his head fall back.
"Because of you—you asshole." I laid my head onto his shoulder, embarrassed by my tears eyes.
"Don't cry." He quickly glanced down at me, and back at the road. "Your parents will kick my ass if they see you like this."
I giggled, letting my head lay on his shoulder which was wet from all my tears. "I'm crying because of you." I wiped my cheek.
"You don't need to worry about me." Jimin, brushed my hair out of my face. "I'm taking good care of myself."
"You promise?" I finally looked up from his shoulder and at his eyes.
"I promise." Jimin quietly spoke.
I lifted myself off of him, when I felt the car come to a stop.
"We're here." He turned to me, biting his lip.
"O—oh." I quickly moved back to my seat. "Um, thanks for the ride." I politely smiled as I opened the car door.
"You're always welcome." He gave me quick nod.
This has to be the most intense moment I've ever been in. His eyes were fixated on mine, and I felt as though I couldn't look away.
I gulped, breaking the silence. "What are you waiting for, just kiss me."
He leaped over his seat, smashing his lips on mine.
