"You change your mind yet?"
I didn't know what to say. First, because I didn't expect him to kiss me right then and there. Second, because I saw Jungkook in front of the car, holding a camera.
He was surrounded by tons of schoolmates, some of whom I've never spoken to in all my life. I was completely frozen, trying not to listen to the sound of laughter ringing through my ears.
I looked over at Jimin with a disappointed glare, before quickly running out of his car.
"Wait!" He yelled, trying to get a hold of my shirt.
I walked back over to him and opened the door.
"Rae, this wasn't—" He raised his brows as I grabbed the bags of McDonald's and left. "Rae wait!"
"Why the hell would you do that man?" Jimin confronted Jungkook.
"It was a joke dude. Plus, don't act like you weren't in on this.." He muttered.
"I didn't say bring the whole fucking school.." Jimin yelled back.
Brooke and Hoseok stood in the corner, clueless as to what just happened. She saw Jungkook and Jimin surrounded by laughing people.
"Babe, where are you going?" Hoseok asked her as she marched forward.
Brooke tapped Jimin on the shoulder, and waited till he turned around so she could leave a stinging red mark on his cheek. Both him and Jungkook were surprised.
"You're such an asshole Jimin!" She yelled so that the whole world could hear. "Why can't you just be nice for once!" She shoved his chest back and walked back to her car.
Jungkook laughed as she walked away, mocking the way she spoke.
"It's not fucking funny." Jimin's tone deepened as he faced Jungkook.
"Hey, whats your damn problem? You hate her anyways.. is it really the end of the world because I played a harmless fucking prank?"
"Harmless? You embarrassed her in front of everyone." Jimin pointed to observant crowd.
"Tough luck, she'll get over it like she did with her brother—
People gasped as Jungkook fell to the floor, holding his bloody nose.
"Fucking say it again!" Jimin yelled, kicking at his stomach. Jungkook groaned in pain while other students tried to push Jimin away.
"It's not worth it man." One of the guys told him.
"Who the fuck are you?" Jimin spat, making the guy scram.
Jimin walked back over to his car, pushing Hoseok's hand off his shoulder as he tried to talk to him.
"Jimin—
"I have to go find her." He pushed past him, and quickly got into his car.

I lifted the mat on my front porch, grabbing the key to unlock the door. My parents were out for an adult Halloween party. I didn't know parents were so lame.
I pushed the door open, and turned on the lights. The candy bowl was almost halfway empty. It must've been a busy night for all those kids. I kicked off my shoes and headed towards the bathroom.
My eyes were slightly red, while my pale lipstick was smeared. I wanted to cry as I looked at my reflection in the mirror. I was disappointed in myself. Angry. Disgusted that I would give in to him so easily.
I changed into some shorts and a tank top, letting my body breathe. I needed some real therapy after tonight. Just kidding, I'm a tough bitch.
I left the bathroom and sat down on the couch. This house was the only place I truly felt comfortable. I lit a couple of fall candles and grabbed the bowl of left over candy.
The only thing on tv was cartoons, so that was what I was stuck watching. I tried to focus on the cute little characters, but my head was continuing pounding.
I couldn't, no matter how hard I try, ignore what just happened. I don't know what I did to deserve that humiliation. I was on good terms with everyone at school. No one ever had a problem with me other than Jimin and Jungkook.
I took a deep breath in, and twisted open the bottle of coke next to me.
"Forget about them. They're assholes." I whispered to myself over and over again. I lifted the bottle when I heard the sound of a car pull into the drive way.
I couldn't have my parents see me like this. If they found out about what he did, they'd go psycho on him. He deserved it, but I wasn't that mean.
I ran into the bathroom, and washed my face. I needed the redness of my eyes and my droopy voice to go away. I picked up a towel and patted my face dry before running over to the couch, as if I've been sitting there for hours.
I waited for the door to open, but heard urgent knocking instead. I narrowed my eyes as I peaked out the living room window. It was useless since there was a huge as tree covering the driveway.
I slowly stood on my feet, walking towards the door. My parents carried the house key with them at all times, so it's weird that they'd suddenly knock.
"Who is it?" I yelled, standing away from the door. The knocking stopped and I was left in silence.
"Halloween's over, stop trying to prank me, you rotten kids." I muttered the last part.
This happens every year. The middle schoolers like to go around, ding-dong ditching everyone's house. I don't get the fun in it...
I've got an idea.
I ran to the kitchen and grabbed a bucket, filling it with ice cold water. If anyone tried to prank me, I'll just have to prank them back. I carried the heavy bucket up the stairs and into my room.
"Jesus, that's heavy." I groaned as I set the bucket onto the floor. I walked over to turn my lamp on, when a hand covered my mouth.
I let out a muffled scream, more like a call for help, and used my hands to try to escape.
"Stop moving." I heard a familiar voice say.
I did as I was told and stood still. I knew who's hands were on me, and I knew who said those exact words.
"I'm gonna let go of you, okay? But you have to promise you'll let me talk." Jimin tried to bargain.
I slowly nodded, stiff under his grip. He slowly moved his hands from over my mouth, and turned me around to face him.
There was a sweet moment of silence, before I punched him straight in his crotch. He dropped to his knees, whining in pain as his body hit the floor.
Let me explain how badass that punch was. If I were to replace Jimin's crotch with a concrete wall, I would've broke through it. That's how bad it should've hurt.
"D-don't." He begged as I grabbed a baseball bat, holding it over his pained area.
"Tell me Jimin, why shouldn't I just beat the hell out of you?" I tilted my head, as I threateningly hit the bad against my palm.
"B-Because..." He tried to speak without whining.
"Because what? Finish your sentence." I scorned.
"Because I'm sorry." He muttered, quickly breathing in air.
"I don't buy it. You have five seconds to get the hell out of my house or I'll call the cops." I lightly kicked at his leg, as if it would move him further away from me.
"Listen to me, please." He begged again, this time attempting to sit up.
"I already listened to what you had to say. I don't want to hear anymore." I walked over to the window, fully opening it.
"Rae, that was a dick move, and I swear that wasn't my intention." He tried to apologize and stand at the same time.
"Then what was your intention? I crossed my arms.
"I t-told Jungkook that I was taking you with me tonight, and he jokingly asked if he could prank you. I didn't see the harm in it, and I said okay."
"Fuck you Jimin." I moved away from him, but he got a grip on my arm.
"Wait, just let me explain." He tried to catch his breath.
"He didn't say he'd be recording you and he didn't say the whole school would be there. I swear on my life, I didn't know he was gonna fuck everything up."
"So, everything was planned. You pretending to be nice to me. You wasted my time. You even faked a love story and kissed me just to prove something to your friends. What did you prove Jimin? That you can get in any girls pants? Isn't that what you told me three weeks ago at work?"
He licked his lips as I finished speaking. I knew he had nothing worth it to say. He was wrong and he knew it. I caught him when he wasn't expecting to be caught.
"Go home." I muttered, pressing my hand against my aching head.
"I meant it." He whispered.
I looked over my shoulders, and back to my door.
"I'd kiss you alone. I'd kiss you in front of Jungkook. I'd kiss you in front of your parents. I kissed you because I wanted to."
"Because I like you." He softly spoke.
I could hear my own breathing over the silence of the room. I had nothing to say to him, so I stood quiet. I felt his footsteps come closer, and his hand brush against my waist.
My body stiffened as he placed a kiss on my cheek, before he walked towards the open window. I stayed absolutely still until I knew he was gone.
I turned around to see the window shut, and a folded piece of paper sitting at the ledge. This day couldn't get any more complicated. I was circulating around my thoughts while I reached to grab the paper.
I let out a deep breath before slowly unfolding the lined paper. The anticipation started to build up inside of me as I hurriedly flattened the note, and read it out loud to myself.
I can't believe a woman
so bright and so beautiful
is right in front of me,
yet I still can't have her.
