Rae's room
I used all my force to push Jimin off the bed, squinting my eyes as his back slammed to the floor. Jimin was hidden behind my bed, while I pulled the covers over my, almost, naked body.
"Hey." My mom walked in, narrowing her eyes. "Did you drop something?"
"Uh—yeah." I looked around my room. "The vase fell onto the floor."
"Oh." She seemed relieved that nothing broke. "I actually came in here, because I'm missing a dress that I need for dinner tonight."
"I don't have any of your clothes." I quickly yelled out as she stepped further into my room.
"I know." She continued to search in my closet. "It's one of my dresses. I mixed it up with your clothes when I was doing laundry."
While she was busy searching through my messy closet, I grabbed a shirt from the floor, quickly pulling it over my head. If she did happen to catch Jimin, it'd be a lot easier to explain if I were wearing clothes.
"Hey mom." I tried to distract her.
"Hm." She responded, throwing my clothes to the side as she looked for her red dress.
"I think I saw the dress in the hallway." I tried to lie.
"What are you so rushy for?" She crossed her arms as she stood up.
"N—nothing, I just don't want you wasting your time searching in here." I shrugged my shoulders.
"Well, just let me finish looking in your room so I can guarantee it's not in here." She remarked, now looking on my side of the bed.
I tilted my body to the opposite side of the bed, peaking down at Jimin. He raised his brows at me, silently laughing when I rolled my eyes.
"Why are you looking at the floor like there's some sort of bug or something?" She asked, not really caring all that much.
"I was just looking to see if the dress was anywhere on that side, but it's not so you're good to go!" I smiled, but she got up anyways.
"Well, let me just check real fast." She looked down at her watch while walking towards the window side of the bed.
My heartbeat quickened as I ran out of ways to stall her. If this was the end of my life, I want to say I love everyone who was ever nice to me. Thank you for making life less shitty.
I nearly shrieked when a red dress came flying into my lap. My eyes widened as I glanced down at Jimin, who winked.
"M—mom, I—
She looked up from her watch, gasping as she saw the red dress in my hands. "Where'd you find it?"
"Um, it was in a pile of clothes, like you predicted." I shrugged my shoulders.
"Ugh thank you." My mom kissed the top of my head, before walking to the door. "You're a life saver."
"I know." I proudly smiled.
She turned away, before stopping to look over her shoulder. I bit my lip, beginning to feel my hand shake as she slowly walked to the doorway.
"Why does your room smell like cologne?" She raised her brow, continuing to sniff around the room. "a-and cigarettes."
"I—I used dads cologne.." I couldn't think of a better excuse.
"Why..?" She confusingly stared at me.
"I don't know?" I shrugged my shoulders again. "It smells good."
"What about the c—
"It's Brooke's jacket she lent me. I was cold and she let me borrow it. You know her boyfriend smokes, right?"
"Right..." She slowly mumbled. "Come eat lunch when you're finished doing whatever your doing."
"Okay." I half smiled, waiting until the door was completely closed.
I leaned over the bed again, giving Jimin an annoyed look. "You need to leave, now."
"I figured." He sighed, gripping the bed to lift himself up.
I plainly raised my brows, waiting for him to fall out the window like he usually does. My expression changed as he came towards me instead of the window. I pushed myself back, holding the covers over my lower half.
"I wonder what we'd be doing now, if she didn't walk in." Jimin whispered as he gave me a seductive look.
"You'd have a bloody nose." I faked a smile.
He teasingly pinched my waist. "You wouldn't have stopped me princess."
"Don't touch me." I lightly pushed his hand away from my skin. "and don't c-call me princess."
"Why not princess?" He flinched as I punched his shoulder.
"Because, you don't get to call me nicknames like that." I pointed out.
"Who gets to call you princess then?" He licked his lips.
"Um, my boyfriend maybe?" I lowered my brows.
"Which you don't have." He chuckled.
"Way to make me feel bad dumbass." I shoved his shoulder once again.
"I can easily change that baby." He rested his hand on my bare thigh.
"Jimin." I glared at him. "What did I say about calling me names and touching me?"
"You'll appreciate it one day." Jimin remarked as he stood from the bed. "When it's two in the morning, and you need somebody to make you feel better."
"Well, thanks for the offer, but for now I'm fine." I tried to smile.
Jimin bit the inside of his cheek before leaning over to grab my face. My eyes were wide as I stared directly back at him. He gently brought his lips to mine, kissing them just once.
"Y-you can't keep doing this." I said, inches away from his lips.
"I keep telling myself to forget about you, but you keep pulling me back." He whispered, as his hand left my face.
I was left absolutely flustered as he climbed over the window ledge. How could someone possibly change feelings that fast. Just a month ago, he hated my guts. One month later, and he's coming to window as if he's Prince Charming. I need to talk to someone who knows him well.
I grabbed the house phone, dialing Hoseok's number before pressing the phone to my ear. The ringing only made my anticipation grow.
"Hello?" I heard him yawn afterwards.
"Hoseok, I need to talk to you about Jimin." I sighed into the phone, hinting it was a problem that needed to be fixed fast.
"What'd he do this time? Is it about the night at the fair?" He asked question after question.
"No, it's about something else.." I trailed off.
"Rae...." Hoseok's tone became concerned. "Tell me what happened."
"You're gonna think I'm joking." I groaned, feeling embarrassed for having to say this to anyone.
"I won't Rae, I promise." He softly spoke.
I gulped, bringing the phone closer to my lips. "He kissed me."
Hoseok raised his brow, not expected me to say those words. "Really?"
"Mhm." I nodded, knowing he couldn't see me through the phone.
"Did you kiss him back?" He asked, not knowing what else to say.
I bit my lip. "Y-yes.."
His eyes widened. "Rae, you like Jimin?"
"No!" I harshly spat. "I-I don't know how to explain it. He just has some sort of appeal that tricks me into you know..."
He narrowed his eyes. "You only kissed, right..?"
I gulped, pursing my lips together.
"Rae?" He called my name through the phone, demanding an answer.
"He—" I groaned, not knowing how to explain this. I was beyond embarrassed. "He kind of undressed me, but nothing happened."
"Shit." He sighed from relief. "Rae, you have to stop seeing him."
"I know, I didn't—
"No, I'm being serious." His voice was stern. "If you keep hinting that you're fine with him doing this, he'll try to take advantage of you one night."
"Would he really do that? I mean, I know he's an animal when it comes to this stuff, but you know Jimin best, so?"
"He does it with most girls." Hoseok explained. "If he sees that they are someone consenting, even if it's just a kiss on the cheek, he'll try to bang them."
"Trust me Hoseok, I don't want to bang him." I grew disgusted at the topic.
"Aren't you the one who said you'd never kiss him either? Look at you now.." He had a good point.
I did this to myself. I let him change the way I think, and now it feels almost impossible to steer away from him. In all honestly, I can't imagine a day without hi— oh my God, what am I saying.
"You're right." I agreed.
"Listen, I'm just telling you this because my girlfriend went through the exact same thing. I know Jimin is like a brother to me, but the way he treated Brooke was disgusting. He used her for his own pleasures, the left her while she depressed and going through problems at home."
"What an asshole." I mumbled, wanting to sock Jimin in the face.
They were right about him using me. I knew Jimin was bluffing when he said I was different from the other girls he liked. What, Because I don't drool over him like they do? I'm gonna kill that hoe.
"Try your best to friend zone him. I know it seems harsh, but just ignore his flirty comments and try treating him extra nicely. He's probably going to get turned off and back away." He advised. "If that doesn't work, call me back."
"I work and live across from him Hoseok. How am I going to pull this off." I sighed.
"Then good luck." He laughed, hanging up first.
This is gonna be difficult.
Work
[ 9:00 am ]
"Holy shit, I mean shoot." I corrected myself in front of my boss. "Please don't tell me this schedule is already set."
"It's finalized." Amanda said, looking over her shoulder as she was working with customers. "Is there anything wrong about it?"
"Um.." I looked at the time column next to Friday. "I work six hours with Jimin..?"
"I thought you'd like that." She jokingly remarked.
"Listen, I love—like Jimin a lot, but sometimes he gets on my nerves w— Why do you keep smiling?!" I cut my own sentence, glaring at her while she giggled.
"I heard you the first time hun." She laughed, knowing I was embarrassed.
"I didn't mean to say love. I usually say that to people I'm friends with, but Jimin's literally just a coworker." I crossed my arms.
"Why don't you tell that to Jimin." Amanda nodded her head towards the door.
"Tell me what?" He mumbled, as I slapped both hands against my mouth.
"Rae would like to tell you something." Amanda continued to steer the conversation in an awkward direction. She was so amused with young teens falling in love.
I bit my lip as Jimin averted his eyes to mine. "Um, you l-look good today." I mentally slapped myself for being so random. "Come on Rae, what the fuck was that." I whispered underneath my breath.
Jimin narrowed his eyes and Amanda almost choked from laughing.
"You just keep getting kinkier and kinkier." He shook his head, before walking into the back.
"Jimin, wait." I followed after him, giving Amanda one last look as I saw her jokingly raise her brows.
"What, I'm busy." He mumbled while trying to find a new stack of cups.
"Third cabinet to your left." I pointed.
He went to the exact cabinet I pointed to, grabbing two bags of stacked cups. I walked over next to him, sitting on a stool.
"How are you?" He asked, not knowing what else to say since I was literally just sitting there.
"Me?" I said, sounding dumbfounded. "I'm doing fine, how about you?"
"Great." He mumbled.
"I can't tell if your being sarcastic or not." I chuckled.
"I'm not." He bit his lip as he looked at me to give me his answer.
"Y—
For some reason I couldn't finish my sentence, let alone start it. My brain couldn't form words while his eyes were glued to mine. I felt flustered, once again. I decided that maybe I shouldn't talk while looking at his eyes, so I averted mine to his lips.
Big mistake.
