A Gargoyle and Human Meet

Chapter 2 of Harry Potter! Hope you all enjoy!

....

One warm day in Privet Drive there was a young boy with messy black hair, baggy clothes, and glasses that were taped together from being broken. Something particular about this boy was of the lightning shaped scar on his pale forehead.

The boy had been rather adventurous after escaping the clutches of his cousin, Dudley, who had tried to punch him after leaving his cupboard and wound up leaving the house on his own terms, hoping somewhere out there was a friend who could help him since he clearly had none at all and also wanted some kind of adventure. Plus his cousin did his best to keep him from gaining any in his school.

He got closer to the outskirts of town, glad to be far away from the house and to the boy's surprise; spotted a trash bin that had been opened. He inspected it carefully, spotting some strange claw marks on the pavement. "Who could make claw marks that big?" Murmured the boy, tracing along the patterns that looked like feet. That was when his eyes spotted the small shed Brooklyn had been laying down in to sleep.

Taking a shaky breath, the boy stepped closer, opening the door to the shed that made a small creaking noise, and his eyes grew wide when seeing the strangest thing he didn't think he would ever see in his lifetime.

There was a large red creature laying asleep in there, curled up on itself, giving little moans in his sleep once in a while. The boy felt a surge of excitement at the idea of discovering something similar to Bigfoot but much cooler, picking up a stick on the ground. Reaching over carefully, the boy poked the creature, wanting to see it awake.

Apparently the poking did too good a job as it caused the creature's eyes to open, displaying its sharp brown color, and its beak like mouth snarling in irritation. The boy gasped, stepping back and holding out the stick in his defense, hoping the creature wouldn't maul him. "Who are you?!" Demanded Brooklyn when he spotted the strange little 8 year old boy before him.

He noted how scared the kid was. Usually Brooklyn himself liked kids but the poking had really irritated him, plus his stomach growled. The boy trembled but replied. "I-I'm Harry. A-are you some kind of demon?" He asked timidly.

Brooklyn's ears twitched from being called that, shaking his head no. "I'm a gargoyle in case you were wondering. But, you can probably tell I'm lost which is why I crashed here. I have no idea where I am." The red male mumbled while making himself look less intimidating now that he knew the kid was no threat,

Harry put his stick down, still stunned the creature could talk but recomposed himself. "You're in Privet Drive in England. How did you even get here?"

His wings twitched from the question as Brooklyn tried to sit up more but winced, sitting back down again. "It's... a long story. But I am kinda hungry and a little bruised." The red Second said, holding his stomach again as it demanded for food again. Harry then eventually had an idea for how he could help this gargoyle. He had kind of heard of them but only in storybooks and on cathedrals.

"I can get you something from my aunt and uncle's house. Normally they won't like me stealing food but they're out for a while. It shouldn't take too long." Harry suggested, eventually smiling at his hopefully new friend, Brooklyn having to admit the kid was kind of nice, nicer than most people except for Tom. However he was still cautious.. "I dunno. I just don't want any kid to trouble themselves with me. I can eat out of the trash fine until I find a way home." Brooklyn says in a stubborn way.

Harry however wouldn't have that, shaking his head. "No way are you eating out of that rubbish! You're starving and possibly need medical aid. Look at some of your bruises and cuts."

Brook notes this, giving a little grin to the kid. "I've faced worse than those wounds you've described to me. But you can go ahead and bring me something if you want then." He then said.

It made Harry grin, beginning to run back, wanting to find some meat for his new companion. "I'll be back, I promise!" He said, Brooklyn however having small doubts. For there were those who attempted to befriend him but then either didn't come back or betrayed him. But he nods, knowing he had to have some kind of faith or else he would die out here. Curling up, Brooklyn anxiously awaits the return of his new friend named Harry, wondering what kind of food he would have.

I'm still working on my short chapter in beginning habit but wanting to improve.
