Chapter 42- Starclan Power.
No one seems to move as I stand over over the body of Bloodwing. Not even the rogues made a move to attack once more.
"There has been enough bloodshed!" I growled, my gaze falling on every cat in the clearing, splattered with blood as I continued with a snarl,"Boneclan! Take your dead and leave! Or we will make you!"
Murmurs bounced across the clearing from the Thunderclan and Riverclan cats, wondering why I was giving orders like a leader or deputy. I flattened my ears, ignoring the hot embarrassment that tried to seep into my pelt.
The rogues as well as Shadowclan and Windclan slowly dragged their paws to their fallen, but a voice stopped them.
"Wait!" A black she cat burst through the trampled entrance along with five other cats who followed.
"Shadecloud?!" Leopardsight yowls and darts forward and purrs, touches noses with his former mentor,"Tallbirch! Bumbleflight! You've all made it out alive!"
Gasps from Shadowclan seem to catch Shadeclouds attention, her gaze sharpens and she flattens her ears. She yowled out to the ragged cats,"Starclan has sent me a sign! Fallenstar must step down as leader!"
Silence falls on the camp, each Shadowclan cat looked at each other wearily.
A quiet chuckle breaks the silence as a crowd of cats by the destroyed elders den part, the silver and black leader limped forward, her left ear torn off completely. "What makes you think you can or Star-Clan can stop me?" Fallenstar hisses menacingly, her eyes narrowed into yellow slits as blood dribbled down her face.
Blackcloud stalked forward, her head low, and muzzle drawn back to show her long canines. 'She lookes awfully scary,' I muse as I glance at her sleek muscles that ripple along her coat. She was a far match to the silver and black striped she cat.
"You will step down as leader, or I'll have to rip you to shreds," Blackcloud snarled fiercely, her long white claws flashed through her black paws.
"I have four lives left, you can try your best," Fallenstar snickered and pranced around like a kit, despite her heavily wounded self.
"Stop! Now!" A loud voice boomed.
I flinch at the tone and look at the highledge. A large golden tabby she cat glowed brightly in the moonlight.
"Li-Lightstar?" Wildstar gasped.
My mouth drops open as the golden she cat seemed to drift down the highledge. Three more starry pelted cats followed Lightstar.
"Rattail!" Tallbirch gasped, her brown tabby pelt stood on the end.
"Hello, my dear sister! I see your kits have grown," the strong brown touched her nose gently and looked at the young apprentices approvingly before following Lightstar once more."
As the Starclan cats stand in front of Fallenstar, it was a large black and white patched tom who spoke first.
"Fallenstar, what has become of you. Have I taught you nothing?" He growled fiercely at the cowering she cat.
"I-I.." No words fell out of Fallenstar's mouth. She pressed her nose into the ground unable to face the noble cats.
"Nightstar, we must do it," a tortoiseshell she cat growled. She looked like she was about to rip Fallenstar to shreds.
"Yes, Marigoldpatch,"agreed Nightstar, his tone contained sadness.
The four cats drew closer to Fallenstar, who tried to press herself lower into the ground. "Fallenstar, for the crime you have committed we come to take away your lives away, you are not worthy of being a leader," Nightstar snarled.
Gasp and wails erupted in the clan.
"You cannot take her away!" Snarled a large fiery red tom who stalked forward," if you touch her I'll rip you to shreds."
'This cat is a mousebrain,' I scoff inwardly.
Marigoldpatch crept forward menacingly, chill rippled along my spine as the tortoiseshell warrior's claws clanked across the clearing.
"Flame, back away now," Fallenstar mewed firmly, keeping her voice low.
"I will not let them have you!" He yowled wildly and dashed forward, trying to ram into the Starclan warrior.
Marigold patch easily leaped in the air and landed on his back, she sank her claws into his spine and I heard a crunch and cringe as the red tom falls to the ground, lifeless.
"Anyone else?!" Snarled Marigoldpatch, who didn't get a reply from the shocked cats that's surrounded her," very well."
"Fallenstar, with the great bloodshed you and Harestar have caused, I take away your life of patience,"mewed Nightstar while lowering his head to touch his muzzle to her head.
Fallenstar wails out in pain, I flatten my ears and look away from the she cat.
Lightstar stepped forward,"Fallenstar, I take away your life of knowledge."
This time the she cat shrieked loudly. "Why won't anyone help me?!" She sobbed and looked around the clearing.
Before any cat could answer Rattail stepped forward calmly,"you betrayed me Fallenstar, I take away your life of acceptance."
Fallenstar sobbed as the brown tom touched her head with his muzzle. "I'm so sorry," she murmured faintly, her body growing weak. The brown warrior just looked down at her sadly and padded to stand beside Nightstar.
"Wait!" Suddenly Shadecloud bursted out to my surprise.
"What is it now?" Growled Marigoldpatch.
"Let her speak," growled Lightstar, her tone contained a sharp edge, the tortoiseshell warrior silenced immediately.
"I volunteer to take Fallenstar, as a prisoner and elder," Shadecloud mewed calmly to my astonishment.
A few mewls of protest disperse.
"She will be confined to the camp for the rest of her life and will not be know as Fallenstar, but as Fallenface,"she growled.
"Very well," Nightstar dipped his head,
and continued, his voice passionate,"we have one more thing to address. The fate of Shadowclan and Windclan,..
