Chapter 41- The Battle.
The clearing exploded with cats, both Lionclan cats and Boneclan cats caterwauling and ripping each others fur off to my dismay. I catch sight of a large red tom pinning down Briargrasp, who kicked at his belly fiercely. She struggles under his grasp, but couldn't slip through his claws.
I race forward and slam into him the ground, hearing a bone crunch underneath. He snarls in pain, glaring at me and try's to lunge for my throat. I quickly draw away, feeling his teeth graze against my fur and hiss. I swipe my claws at his face, ripping through one of his eyes. He shrieks and kicks me off with what little strength he has left and limps towards the torn bramble entrance.
"Briargrasp, get a couple of the younger warriors and try to make it to the Riverclan camp as fast as you can,"I order while glancing around the caterwauling cats.
"But Brokenflight I want too-"
"I know you want to stay, but the clan needs you to get more cats," I hiss fiercely, Lionclan was already growing tired.
"Yes Brokenflight," Briargrasp perks up and darts off to get Redberry and Harley, who nod and quickly escape the battle zone.
'Thank Starclan,' I think before a large mass knocks me off my paws.
"Hello Broken-kit," sneered a voice while his claws gripped my shoulders.
"Get off me you piece of foxdung!" I growl and kick my back claws into his unprotected belly. His dark black fur grew sticky from red blood as I hiss,"I'm Brokenflight now mousebrain."
Drift snarled and cuffed my head before sinking his teeth into my neck. Fury shot through my veins. I roared and kicked his legs, knocking him off balance and roll over until I'm on top of him, sinking my claws, deep into his shoulders. He struggled beneath my weight, but I held him down with ease.
I raise my paw, my bloody claws unsheathed. The once wiry black tom, looked up at me with wide, pleading eyes. 'Do not kill him,' a voice rumbled in my mind.
I flatten my ears and rake my claws along his chest, leaving him a deep enough wound that would heal up into a scar. He snarls quietly as I lower my head until I'm close to his ear. He flinches away as I whisper,"if you ever come back here, I'll be sure to rip your insides out and feed them to you."
I slink off of the black tom, who nodded fearfully and skirted across the clearing and through the bramble entrance.
A yowl was cut off behind me and I catch sight of Harestar pinning Wildstar down on the highledge , his claws sunk into her neck.
"No!" I roar and clear the clearing in a few steps. A red haze clouded my gaze as I leapt on the long legged leader. My claws met his spine, bones scraped against them, shooting tingles down my paws.
His legs buckle and rolls over on top of me, knocking the breath out of me. My grip loosens and Harestar springs up and turns around, slashing my muzzle. The pain stings fiercely and I roll away as he try's to slam his paws down on my head.
Snarling I hook my claws into his cheek and slam his head into the ground. An earth splitting crack erupts from the impact. One side of his scull was crumbled against the rock.
I back away in shock. 'How?' I ponder wildly.
"Brokenflight," a barely audible mew escapes Wildstar, who struggles to get up.
I rush to her side and help her gently. I notice she didn't look as strong, but rather frail.
"I-I killed him," I choke out like a kit, wanting her mothers love.
"Brokenflight, look at me,"my mother growled sternly,"now."
I peer into her vibrant green eyes. "He was meant to die. He is going to the dark forest," she growled," As I lost a life Starclan confessed that they have given you a power. It has just seemed to flourish in your body. You have been given the strength of the Lion. No enemy is strong enough to conquer you."
I gaped at the tabby and white queen.
"You must use it to save the clan. To break the drenched wing," she snarled fiercely before touching her nose to my cheek and murmured,"I love you, my dear daughter."
I look into her eyes, not wanting to disappoint the clan or Starclan. I leap down from the highledge and search for my father. A screech from the entrance rang across camp. I whip my head around and see Riverclan flowing like water into the battle.
Relief flooded over my pelt. I hear kits squealing and swivel my head to see Silent and Daisypetal both fiercely fighting Foxheart from Windclan and Blacksky from Shadowclan, pushing the cats away from Mallow and Birdlight who was calming the frightened kits inside the den.
Frost and Panther were both grappling with a large black rogue that I've never seen before, each of their battle moves flowed smoothly with ease.
A shriek reached my ears and I whip around to see Sunglow clawing at Venom's ears fiercely. "You left me and the kits to die! And now you will repay!" She hissed like a Lionclan warrior, and bit into the dark tabby warriors neck. The tabby tom tried to fight back, barely clawing at her shoulder, but the loss of blood from numerous amounts of battle wounds seemed to weaken his well rounded muscles. Venom crumpled to the ground, twitching.
I pad forward to the golden she cat and touch my tail to her shoulder. She looked up and me and nodded, her eyes full of grief.
I could started to say something, a red and black striped pelt flickered through the corner of my eyes. I knew who it was.
Bloodwing.
"Keep protecting the kits," I mew softly to the grieving queen and the slowly stalk the large tom was slowly stalking towards Leopardsight, who was fighting fiercely with Bluewillow and Davidson.
"I have the strength of a lion,"I growl to myself, trying to gain confidence as I approach my father.
"Hello Bloodwing," I growl, fur bristling and back arched, ignoring all the caterwauling behind me.
The larger red tom froze and whipped around,a sneer spread across his aging face. "Hello, my beloved daughter," he growled and slinked forward.
"Why are you doing this?" I question and unsheathe my claws, which glint with red to my satisfaction.
"To gain power over the whole forest of course," he smirks as we circle eachother.
"What about Goddess?" I hiss.
"We are mates now. We are going to rule the forest together," he purred, before glaring golden daggers," once we get rid of the clans mange-pelts."
"You will never get rid of us!" I snarled and sprinted toward the red warrior. He instantly rolled out of the way of my claws and I stumbled into to the rocky wall of camp to my astonishment. Dizziness flooded into my head.
Claws grip into my back, and I shriek in pain as I am thrown to the ground. A massive weight pressed against me as claws sank into my flesh. I struggled before going limp, still dazed.
"You think that trick will fool me?" He snarled, his acrid breath stung my nose.
'You have the strength of a Lion,' a powerful voice boomed in my head.
A surge of energy flowed through my pelt, whisking me out of my daze. "You will never beat me!" I roared out, my voice boomed through the clearing, every cat in the clearing froze from fighting.
I thrusted my legs into Bloodwing with as much force I could muster. He landed a couple fox lengths away with a thud, gasping for breath like a fish out of water.
I prowl towards him, my muscles rippling along my bloody pelt, which was now healed. As I reach him I sink my claws into his shoulder and pin him down, his bone cracked beneath me.
He cried out in pain and started whimpering out pleas,"I don't want to die. Oh Starclan forgive me. Please don't kill me! I beg you."
I look around the clearing and see dozens of dead cats. So much blood. I finally reach Wildstar's emerald gaze. I sent her a silent plea for her wisdom.
"Starclan will grant him passage," a small mew turned everyone's gaze to the medicine cat den. Shiningdew's gaze was strong.
I turn back to Bloodwing who was still whimpering,"you will meet Starclan very soon," I whisper and and grab his head with my paws, wrenching his neck quickly at an odd angle.
"I wish I'd have know you as a father," I mew with grief.

That was literally the hardest decision of my life.
