Chapter - 31

"Neil, please leave me." Myra tried to release herself from her husband's stronghold. It was a blissful morning after a stormy day.

"Why are you such an early bird? Sleep." Neil did not open his eyes but tightened his grip over her petite figure. Her touch, her scent he had craved for in the last few days. Now when she was in his arms his heart was reluctant to leave her.

His grumpy tone brought a small smile on Myra's face. From the last 10 minutes she had tried all her ways to come out from his embrace but was unsuccessful, she wanted to stay as is but her motherly and wifey duties were asking her to get up and start their routine.

Last evening both talked and sorted out their way to face the upcoming storm. Neil and Myra both knew it's going to be a difficult time for both of them ahead. Neil confessed his heart out hoping to gain Myra's trust, and to his surprise she trusted him.

Yesterday, the way she had faced her sister's appearance in their home must have broken her from the core, shaking her trust over their newly found relationship. Neil was scared when Myra had locked herself in the room. His heart was thumping inside his ribcage with fear of losing her.

But he thanked his destiny when she silently listened to his side. His matured wife gave him a chance to explain, and she trusted his words. He knew, his past in the form of her sister's presence around them surely had inculcated insecurity in Myra's mind and heart about their bond but this time, he was ready to fight with all odds to be with his nightingale.

Last two days when he was away from her, were taking a real toll on him, he understood his wife had turned into his lifeline.

No matter what he was not going to part away from his soulmate. She had become the reason for his survival, his happiness. He needed to resolve her unsaid doubts, instil their trust, and flourish their relationship.

Both did not step out of the room but had dinner inside before sleeping in each other's arms.

His words, his honest confession, his hopeful eyes, his feathery touch gave some relaxation to Myra's earlier tumbled mind and heart. Her heart was whispering to trust her soulmate and she had decided to hear pleas of her heart.

"Don't you want to go to the office?" She asked, staring at him from corner eyes while trying her luck and strength both at the same time to escape from his hold.

"How unromantic you are? Your husband returned from a business trip after 4-5 days and you want to send him again to his office." He cribbed making faces. He was nuzzling in the crook of her neck.

His lips were grazing over her bare shoulder giving a tingling sensation inside her stomach.

"Neil, please stop it." She begged.

"Nope. You are not going anywhere. Just stay with me." He tightened his hold.

"You are more stubborn than my Neev. Such a drama king." Myra twitched her nose but she could not suppress her chuckle.

"Don't take his name. He will wake up." Finally, Neil opened his eyes to see the crib where his son was sleeping peacefully. "Thank god he is sleeping. Your bodyguard son will jump on me next moment if he sees us like this."

Myra laughed at his sulking, she got away taking it as an opportunity when her husband's hold loosened. "Accept you are scared of my baby." She teased him by making a cute face.

"Hey? Where are you going?" Neil tried to hold her but this time he was late. Myra quickly got down from bed and ran towards the washroom.

"I have to make my baby's breakfast. I promised him to make his favourite banana pancakes as a bribe to forgive you." She reminded him about last night's events, when his son was offended over his father. He was not letting his father even go near his mother, from his point of view his father made his mother cry.

He huffed like a child and slept back clutching her pillow in his tight embrace.

Myra came down and straight entered the kitchen while tying her hairs in a messy bun.

"Julia aunty, I hope we do have ripe bananas in the fridge." The last day she forgot to check before committing to her beloved son.

"Yes we do have." Julia replied, gawking at Myra with wide open eyes. She had expected Myra's sorrowful face considering the last day's events.

"Thank god, I promised Neev to make his favourite pancakes before checking out." Myra released her breath satisfactorily.

She was moving in the kitchen as usual but her casual, typical day routine. Her approach was increasing Julia's amazement by passing every second.

"Myra are you ok?" Julia asked after some time being impatient.

"Yes, Julia aunty, what happened to me?" Myra replied, cutting bananas in small pieces.

"Myra, don't you know we have some unwanted visitors at our house?" It was a time for Myra to face the reality, she had almost forgotten about Meera.

Suddenly, her mouth turned bitter and heart sank with just a thought of her sister's presence around them. In a moment, Neil and Neev's struggle before her marriage replayed in front of her eyes.

"What is she doing here till now? Why are you not asking her to leave?" Julia asked with concern. In the morning, Julia had asked another servant about Meera, she was in her room only.

"I wish. I could." Myra mumbled but Julia heard her.

"And why can't you? You are the owner of this house." It was obvious for Julia. "Before you came it was just four walls. You have built it as a house."

"It's not like that, Julia aunty." Myra huffed in desperation. She thought a bit if she could inform Julia about her talks with Neil over Meera.

"Then what is Myra? Meera is evil. She will destroy everything." Julia's agony was dripping out with her every word. She was one of the witnesses of Neil's downfall. Her motherly heart craved to protect him this time from witches attack.

"I will not let her destroy anything. She is here as a guest for a few weeks. Then she will be out of our lives forever." She replied thinking about Neil's words last night's words which helped her to gain determination.

"Few weeks?" Julia exclaimed with anxiety. "You should not allow her to stay her for even a minute."

Myra just nodded her head looking everywhere but not at Julia. "I had never expected this from Neil." Of Course he was the one who had opened doors for the demon.

"He is helpless. His hands are also tied." Myra remembered his helplessness. "Don't worry, Julia aunty. We will handle her. She won't be able to do anything. I trust Neil."

"You should be very very careful, Myra. I know she is your sister, but she is not like you." Julia warned caressing her hair. "And I will always be with you, my child. I will pray to my Jeus to keep his blessings on you and Neil."

"Thank you Julia Aunty." Myra felt elevated with Julia's support.

Myra engrossed herself in breakfast preparations but thoughts about her sister's re-entry in their life had created havoc in her mind. It was a battle between her heart and mind.

She was setting up their breakfast table when Neil came down holding Neev in his arms.

"Mumma" Neev called her out. He raised his hands asking her to take him.

"Good morning my baby." She smiled brightly looking at her two precious possessions.

She took a step to hold her son. But she felt Neil's lips on her's in a quick peck. "Good morning wifey."

"Good morning." His simple gesture set her heart on racing speed, turning her cheeks in beetroot red.

"You are such a blushing rose." He giggled whispering in her ears. He tried to brush his nose tip with her cheeks.

"Shut up Neil." She tried to push him with her hands, making some distance. His teasing had rung all the bells of her heart. Day by day, she was experiencing the naughty, romantic side of her husband, which was difficult for her to handle.

But their little angel was a total romance breaker. He was providing a helping hand to his mother to control his father without even asking.

"My Mumma." He was the one who hit his father's arm with his tiny fist as an angry young man.

"My wife." He stressed on every word. But his son jumped from his hands to his mother.

"No kissie my Mumma." He pushed his father's face away from his mother.

"I will kiss my wife." Neil was in a teasing mood.

"Mumma No." Neev turned wrapping his both hands around Myra'a neck burying his head in her shoulder blade.

"I will." His father was not less when it came to stubbornness.

Their banter as usual earned giggles from Myra unaware of a pair of an eye looking at them enviously.

'What happened to them suddenly? Yesterday, they both had a rift and now... this is not done.' Meera was gritting her teeth in anger.  Last night she had slept peacefully thinking she was successful in hitting the bullseye giving a major blow to her ex-husband and sister's married life.

She started taking steps towards them, not moving her eyes from their smiling faces. She observed Myra pouring coffee in Neil's cup whereas he was playing with Neev. She tried to remember if she and Neil had any moment like this during their marriage days, but alas, it was never.

Due to her late night parties she was a sleepy head in early mornings, when she used to get up Neil would have already left for his work. Infact, she never had any particular moment with her ex-husband which could be called memorable. During initial days, Neil always tried to make her feel special but for Meera, her parties, her friends, modelling assignments were more important than their bonding.

"Myra, can you please pass the bread?" his voice broke Meera's trance.

'Me and Neil never even had food together.' thought crossed her mind.

'For sure he needed one servant in my absence.' Meera convinced her mind shrugging her own thoughts.

"Neev see your favourite pancakes." Myra grinned, showing a plate full of Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes to her son.

"Mickeeyy." Neev clapped his hands. Myra laughed brightly looking at her son's happiness.

But her laughter died the moment her eyes landed on the person standing in front of her.

"Wow... Looks like Mumma is spoiling her baby." Neil was oblivious of Meera's presence around them. He was laughing looking at his son's overwhelmed face.

'He looks charming. Why couldn't I see him like this?' Meera scrunched her eyebrows looking at Neil from corner eyes.

Myra felt pang in her heart when she observed Meera staring at her husband. Her mind filled with insecurity.

He scrunched his forehead when his eyes captured Myra's blank face. She was looking at him with a pale face. He turned to see the most unwanted person of his life which instantly brought agitation on his face. He pressed his forehead with his fingers shaking his head.

"Hi Myra." Meera tried to be casual. She knew she had to make an entry in her sister's good books earning her trust to snatch her position in this house.

"Hi" It was a short reply from Myra. She could not figure out what to answer her sister. But thanks to her husband he solved her problem.

"Julia can set up breakfast for guests in the formal dining area. This dining area is for FAMILY ONLY." Neil commanded when he observed Meera pulling a chair beside him to settle down for breakfast.

There was a time he wanted to be with Meera all the time but today, he even hated her mere presence inside his home.

"Neil... can I?" His commanding tone was totally new for Meera.

"Myra, I missed your hand made coffee." He took a sip ignoring Meera. He did not want to spoil his day.

"Myra, I want to talk to you. Let's talk after your breakfast." Meera brought the most concernful tone in her vocal cords. She started leaving but stopped with Neil's orderly tone.

"Whatever you wanna talk about, you have to talk in front of your sister's husband." He made it clear.

Myra raised her eyebrows, her eyeballs were peeping out of their sockets. Rudeness, sarcasm, and coldness was oozing out of his tone.

"Mumma...aaa" Neev was not happy as well with the intervention of some stranger.

He opened his mouth making a sound indicating his mother to feed him his next bite.

"Neev..." Meera took a step towards Neev. She conveniently masked her face with fake motherly care. He was her trump card.

She took a round and came to Myra's side where Neev was sitting on a high chair beside Myra. She caressed his hair. Neev looked at her scrunching his forehead.

"Neev my baby." She bent down going on her knees.

Neil was ready to snarl over her actions when Myra nodded her head in no pleading with him with her eyes.

'Neev should not witness any of the arguments, clashes, or chaos going on in our life.' This was the message passed by a simple eye lock between the two soulmates.

"Neev... I am sorry... I am really sorry baby. I...was so bad with you..." Meera was shedding her crocodile tears whereas Neev was still clueless about her blabberings. "I am sorry baby... Mumma should not have left you... Mumma is so bad.... Mumma is very very bad."

Her every word was adding fuel to an already lit fire, Neil was on the verge of explosion when Meera addressed herself as Neev's mother, he was just controlling himself for Neev and Myra. His tight hold over fork and knife as well as gritted teeth were a true representation of his feelings.

Whereas Myra's eyes were filled with tears, ofcourse it was hard for her to accept Meera being Neev's biological mother. Even today, she could not accept it. For her Neev was her son, that's it.

Neil's felt a scar on heart when he saw her teary eyes. He extended his hand to hold her. He nodded his head in no. "Please Myra" he spoke tenderly.

His tender voice captured Meera's attention, she hated to see his hold over her sister's palm.

"Noooo." Neev screamed, pushing Meera away with his tiny hands. His frantic voice earned his parents attention instantly. Both turned their heads towards the little boy whereas Meera was taken back with his sudden outburst.

"You gooo." He screamed again, throwing his hands. "My Mumma. You're bad.." In his short, baby words he declared his stand. Neev's possessiveness for his mother was at its peak.

He turned and tapped his mother on her shoulder. "Mumma"

"Yes my baby." Myra's eyes filled with tears. Her heart knew, whatever happens her baby would love her unconditionally.

"Go" Neev pointed his hand towards Meera asking his mother to pass his message.

"Neev, please listen to me, my baby." Meera pleaded, controlling her tears.

"My son had already asked you to leave. So leave. NOW." Neil did not even throw a glance at her.

"He is my son too." Meera gritted her teeth. From the moment she entered the dining area, she was insulted first by her ex-husband and then by her son.

"No... He is not. Neev is my and Myra's son, this is the truth... no one, I repeat no one can change it. Get this thing fitted in your shitty brain once and for all." Neil snapped at her in a low yet cold tone.

"You cannot deny the fact that..." Meera could not suppress her inhibited insolent nature.

"Can you please just leave?I don't want to create a scene in front of my son." It was taking a toll on his patience level.

"Meera please. Let's sort it out later. Neev is little, he won't understand. Let's not argue in front of him. His little innocent heart will crumble if it needs to face any harsh words." Myra as usual handled it maturely. "PLEASE."

"Fine." Meera left stomping her feet.

"Shit." Neil punched the table in frustration.

"Neil please." Myra exclaimed as Neev jerked looking at his angry father., "We need to maintain our sanity. We cannot lose it right?" She asked to understand their current situation. She caressed Neev's hair calming his little scary heart.

"I don't know what to do? I am feeling helpless. She is such a bitch and..." He was still venting out his frustrations.

"No bad words infront of Neev." Myra reminded him calmly. "We decided to sort this out right. Then let's face it together. It is just a matter of one month."

She got up from her seat and went near him. "I am with you. We are together in this."  She caressed his hair.

This time Neev was silent, he was looking at his parents with wide open eyes.

Neil turned and hugged her burying his face in her stomach, "what will I do without you Myra?"

"My Mumma." This time Neev spoke, taking out his lower lip.

Neil got up from his seat and took him in his hands and with another he pulled Myra in a family hug.

'I have to throw her out of my life and house. She had done some magic on these two.' Meera had witnessed their moment from long, she could not hear them but their family hug had pinched her heart.

This would have been her moment with her family which she had ruined by betraying and walking out of her blessed life, also wrapping her own possessions in a gift to her little sister.

It was later in the day when Myra made Neev sleep. She was in the family room reading some book whereas Neil was in study attending his business meetings. He had decided to work from home till the time Meera was there.

"Myra" Meera called her, entering the family room. "Please. You are my sister, at least you try to understand me."

"Sit down Meera." Myra asked calmly, crossing her hands.

"Go ahead." She said when Meera was silent for a few minutes fidgeting her fingers.

"I know, I was at fault for leaving Neev when he needed me the most. I was not ready for motherhood, I was scared." Meera had decided to manipulate her sister using her weakness of being an emotional fool.

"You did not look as scared when you were making out in the hospital corridor with a random guy." Neil interrupted from back entering the Family room. He was done with his meeting and was going upstairs when he saw Meera coming out of her room. He knew Meera in and out, he needed to protect his innocent wife from a witch.

His question caught Meera offguarded. It was news to her that Neil had witnessed the most embarrassing moment of her life.

Neil took steps and sat beside Myra wrapping his arm around her shoulder. His presence around her gave relief to Myra. His indirect way to support her relaxed her mind.

"Neil it was not like..." Meera tried to find reasons.

"Don't bother. We are not interested in your life." He shrugged his shoulders. Today, she had turned into the most unimportant person for him.

"And by the way, its Mr. Singhania for you." he narrowed his eyes, today he even hated to hear his name from her mouth.

For Meera, she was experiencing an entirely different Neil, who was rude, cold, and sarcastic.

"Neil please." Myra tried to control him by keeping her hand on his arm. Just her soft touch helped him maintain his calm.

Meera hated to see their silent gestures.

"I know, I made a lot of mistakes. There is no count of it." Meera started feeling guilty, she knew her sister had a soft heart. Her sister was known for melting down with a few tear drops. "Starting with Mumma's death."

Mention of their mother, jerking Myra in her place. She remembered the day when she lost her mother.

It was not expected for Neil as well, her words also surprised him.

"Now when I am at her place, I can feel her pain." Meera continued, fake tears started rolling over her cheeks.

"Her pain? No Meera, you can never understand her pain. You did not even come when Mumma passed away. She died while taking your name. You knew, she was on her deathbed." Myra rebucked, remembering their painful days. Tears started rolling over her cheeks, her mother's remorse replayed in front of her eyes.

This was new for Neil, he could feel her pain. He pressed her shoulders giving her support.

"I know... I was at fault. I failed her as her daughter. That time I came in Dad's words, he manipulated me against Mumma and you. Dad and Divya used to control my life, I had nothing in my hands. But today, when I am at Mumma's place I can feel her pain for her baby. I don't have much time Myra."  Meera started wiping hoping her sister would trap herself in her emotional blackmail.

"I have a tumour. My surgery is scheduled for next month, but doctors are saying chances of success are just 20 - 25%. You can see my reports. You are a doctor, of course you will understand them." Meera pushed on file on to Myra.

"In this one month, I want to spend some time with Neev. Mumma craved my presence, and I am yearning for my son. I know, I left him, you gave him motherly love. Trust me Myra, you have all your rights on him. I will never ask for it anytime but please... please for this one month let me stay with my son. I promise... I will leave after one month. I will never return back to your life. I will never interfere with your and Neil's married life. You both always stay together but please... please for just one month let me stay near my Neev. Let me make some memories with him, these memories will be enough for me for my life." Meera folded her hands crying bitterly.

Neil shook his head knowing her in and out but his wife slipped in the confusion afterall she was a sister as well.

"Meera, you can stay in my home as my sister." Neil, turned to his wife. His lips stretched in a small smile when she spoke authoritatively. "And I will appreciate, if you always stay within your limits."

"Thanks Myra." Meera thought she had won half of the battle.

"But with Neev, I hope whatever you said is true. If not, then I will never forgive you for using my son for any of your benefits." Myra's possessiveness for her son reached its peak.

"No Myra, why will I lie?" Meera cross questioned.

"Meera, you have a reputation which makes it difficult to trust your words." Myra's straightforward words shushed Meera. "Also, till the time you are here, I will suggest that you keep in mind that  you are staying in MY HOME. I will never accept you crossing your limits, if I find you doing anything evil then next moment you will be out of this house."

"I promise I will never give you a chance to complain." Meera was scared from inside but she skillfully masked her face with gratefulness but her heart was cursing Myra for every word.

'Just one month Myra, we will see who will be out of this house. Neil, himself will throw you out of this house. Then I will be his queen.' Meera left thinking about next steps, leaving Neil and Myra alone in the family room.

"I didn't know you were so possessive about me." Neil was amazed when his cute, innocent wife warned Meera in calm yet clear words. "I thought you were only possessive for your beloved son."

"Neil...??"

"But I am loving your possessiveness wifey." Neil gave a quick peck on her lips.

"I hope this one month will pass by as soon as possible." Myra snuggled in his arms.

"When you are in my arms, I can face anything." Neil confessed kissing her hair.

"Me too." she mumbled against his neck. Both stayed in each other's embrace for the time being.

"Nei, Myral, what the hell is happening in this house?" They both startled with Nandini's anger filled voice.

"Mom" Both got up instantly with wide open eyes. Nandini had held Meera's arms in her fist tightly, she was dragging her along with her.

Nandini had entered inside their home earlier to meet her son and his family but looking at Meera she could not control her anger. Same was the condition with Dev and Niren.

"What this bitch is doing in this house?" Meera was on her way to room when she encountered recent visitors.

"Mom please." Neil tried to explain.

"Just ask her to leave right now." Nandini ordered, dominatingly pointing at Meera.

"Neil, this is not done." Dev also seconded his wife.

"Mom, listen to me please." Neil pleaded.

"You are pleading for this bitch." Nandini screamed her lungs out. "Myra, why are you silent?"

"ASK HER TO LEAVE RIGHT NOW." Dev ordered. "Did he force you, Myra, to let her stay in this house?"

Neil tried to find his words.

"Dad, listen to him at least."

"FINE. Myra, pack your and Neev's clothes, you both are shifting to Singhania house. I am not letting you stay in this house when my son has lost his sanity." Nandini's eyes were blazing with fire.
