Author's POV:

"Ok I'll divorce her and marry you"

The moment she heard those hurtful words from him...her heart sank deep and her eyes filled with tears.

Her breath hitched in her throat and her feet froze to the ground. She couldn't believe what she heard.

She didn't dare to stand there anymore as she was scared that he would speak even more painful words that her heart couldn't survive.

Quickly she ran to her room ranting one thing to herself that it must be a dream and nothing else.

Sitting on the bed she held her head between her palms and kept ranting the same thing again "no... it's not true... it's not true"

Tears were rolling down continuously from her eyes leaving stains on her cheeks. Her mind lost the ability to think.

She thought love is cruel. She had gone so far in this one-sided love. She had completely fallen for him and  began dreaming of a happy life with him.... making and cherishing many more beautiful memories with him and betrayal at this phase was something that her heart couldn't endure.

She was clouded over by fear...doubt... uncertainty. How can he give up on their relationship so easily?? How can he give up on her?? Was he the same Arjun who almost confessed his feeling last night?? Is he cheating on her?? Everything that happened between was it false?? Was his love  fake??

A few minutes before :

As Deepali was recovering, Arjun thought it would be better to make her understand the things before the never fulfilling emotions develop within her again.

He made her sit on the bed and holding her hands he explained to her "Deepali Listen carefully....you are matured girl...at this age developing feelings for someone is natural but developing the feelings for someone who is not meant to be yours is wrong....I am not saying that you are completely wrong here... it's a phase that everyone goes through and it happened with you too... it's natural... it just happened.... we can't go to the past and change it but definitely we can change the future"

"That's what I am trying to tell you from the day I came here Arjun...we can change our future...our future is in your hands...you are my future Arjun"

Brushing off her hands he stood up and retorted

"You have to accept the fact Deepali...the fact that I am a married man now...A man who is very happy with his wife"

"You can divorce her Arjun"

"Deepali" he shouted at her at an extreme peak that her body shivered and automatically her legs took a step back.

"Don't you dare" pointing his finger he warned her gritting his teeth with his bloodshot eyes.

She was scared to death at his reactions to her single statement. Her eyes brimmed up with tears.

Hearing the shit that she uttered he felt his blood boiling like hot lava and was clenching his fists continuously to control his inner volcano which would erupt at any moment of time.

He didn't want to complicate the situation even more by losing his temper. He didn't want a patient to be a prey of his anger.

Facing his back to her he closed his eyes and ran his fingers through his hair. Holding his neck he tilted his head back and tried to calm himself.

He took a deep breath and finally said the words Deepali was waiting for

"OK I'll divorce her and marry you"

Her pale face glowed and the teary eyes shined but it lasted only for a second as Arjun proceeded

"But I can't give you anything that a woman expects from her husband...I can't give you the happiness that you deserve...I can't reach up to your expectations...I can be  your namesake husband only and the relationship will be just equal to the  two strangers staying under one roof "

"No problem at all Arjun...after marriage you can take your own time...there's no hurry...I'll help you in this" she said wiping her tears with a little hope in her heart.

"Try to understand Deepali...this can't happen " holding her by the shoulder he pleaded

"I'll give you everything that a man needs Arjun...I'll satisfy all your expectations...all your wishes...just marry me"

Bowing her head down she whispered with much difficulty "If you want I am ready to give myself to you right now and fulfill all your physical desires"

Instantly he took his hands back with a jerk and moved back and shut his eyes tight feeling sick of whatever she mumbled.

She had no idea what shit she was talking about. She wasn't in her senses. The only thing she wanted was Arjun. Fresh tears began flowing down her cheeks.

A sob escaped her mouth that caught his attention making him open his eyes.

He felt helpless at that moment. He was struggling hard to pacify her but nothing was working out. Instead, everything was getting even more complicated.

He felt a pain in his heart seeing a girl in such a vulnerable state. He was not getting the way by which he would console the little girl sobbing.

Taking a deep breath he whispered her name as soft as he can "Deepu"

The moment she heard her name through his mouth her sob became louder and immediately she hugged him and began crying on his chest. She had no courage to look into his eyes after uttering those disgusting words. She herself was ashamed of what she spoke.

She cried and cried on his chest until her heart was full. Arjun kept caressing her hairs and back and allowed her to let out all her pain.

He thought draining all that she had in her heart was essential. And was the only way that could make her feel a bit relaxed.

After crying her heart out she stepped back out of the hug and wiped her tears with the back of her palms.

Arjun made her sit on the bed and make her drink a glass of water. He extended his hanky to her and taking it she wiped the tears.

She was quite calm now. Facing his back to her he announced

"I don't know about other men and their physical desires and what they expect from their partners but I am not the one who has lustful desires towards a woman....and about my Sona....her existence in my life is more than anything that I need... being together with her till my last breath is my only wish"

He knelt in front of her and held her hands

"But if you want I'll marry you for your happiness but I can't be a good husband to you because I am not the right one for you... I am not the one who is made for you...you deserve a person better than me...and even if I take some years as you said ...I can't love you back...because my soul belongs to Sona...the every breath I take belongs to her...the relationship between you and me will be a materialistic one with no love and affection and any relationship without love is just like a cut flower...even if you soak it in water...it won't last longer...it will die someday"

"You love her??" She asked in a low voice

"I don't know about love... I never thought of naming the relationship that I have with her and maybe will  never do...the only thing I know is...She is the one who completes me...improves me...she makes me feel serene...she gave me the serenity I was longing for...she is connected to me deeply and soulfully...I want to grow old with my Sona Deepali....please ....please try to understand"

He bowed down his head in defeat and blinked and tears escaped his eyes and fell on her hands. Quickly He stood up with a jerk and wiped his teary eyes.

She was awestruck at that moment realizing his love for her. His pearl-like precious tears were the proof of his pure love.

Her love for Arjun seemed lesser to her when compared to his love for Sona. Finally, she gave up believing that love is about giving someone what they want...what makes them happy.

Making up her mind she took a  step towards him and holding his forearms she said

"Believe me Arjun...there is love...but there are some unlucky people like me who can't meet the right person"

Placing her palm on his cheek she proceeded "But I am so happy for you that you have met the right person...you have found your love" 

She smiled at him and Arjuns heart attained peace seeing her smile wholeheartedly.

"I'll leave tomorrow" taking her hand back she told him.

Holding her forearm he stopped her and pointing at her wrist he said "Promise me you won't do anything like this in the future"

She simply nodded a yes.

Holding her by the shoulders he explained "Everyone has to walk forward and look ahead Deepali..because the efforts that we put are always for the future not for the past...We have positive thoughts and negative ones too...but it is up to us that what thoughts we are feeding into our minds because our thoughts create our own beliefs...so just focus on the positive thoughts and take the responsibility of your happiness in your own hands"

"Hmm...I will try to concentrate more on my Dancing Career"

"And I know very soon we all will be witnessing the situation where your dance programs will be housefull"

"Now don't tease me ok" she brushed off his hands

"Arey baba that's true...you are much talented and capable of more than you imagine...just believe yourself... you are an awesome classical dancer"

"Thanks for the compliment" she smiled

"And ha the most important thing...in the future be more attentive to yourself because the person who can always take care of you is not the person standing by your side...but  its you...no one can help you better than the way  you help yourself because no matter how long someone's hand is ...whether the someone is your parent...your close friend...your  partner...or any other person...there will be always something that no one could help you...so be careful and don't act like a child...samjhi??"

"You know what Arjun...I have learned an important lesson...In this world, it's not easy to find someone who loves us in the same way as we love them...So if I meet the right one then I am lucky but if not I should accept it as well"

"It's never being lucky or unlucky....You will  meet the right and the best one you deserve Deepali... We never lose what is  meant to be ours"

Cupping her face he continued
"What's yours will definitely find you"

"Sach??" she asked with fresh hope

He nodded with a smile and took her into his warm embrace.

While on the other hand Sona in her room was making an effort to get answers to the multiple questions attacking her mind.

She didn't want to get to a conclusion before having a conversation with Arjun. She wanted all the answers and justifications from him. She was dying to know the reason behind his statement.

Wiping her tears she marched to the room and when she opened the door...all her fears came true when she saw Arjun and Deepali in each other's arms with a smile on their faces.

Hearing the opening thud of the door Arjun and Deepali broke the hug and looked at Sona with confusion

Watching the scene she fumed in anger like a lioness and taking long strides she moved towards them and raised her hand to slap Deepali but immediately understanding what Sona was about to do Arjun stood between the two and stopped Sona holding her hand.
