River's POV

       I decided to head over to Scar's house to drop off a few things for the puppy.  We had talked it over last night that is was okay that I came over and that I could even take her to school.  Grabbing the box out of my car I head to the door and knock.  After a minute or so Scar answers the door.  

       Oh it's you River.  Well come on in.

      Who else would it be at this time of the morning?  

       My mother she was supposed to get home a half hour ago. 

       Oh okay well I can wait with you if you want.

       No No you should get going I don't want you to be late for school.

       I don't mind.  And that's when I heard it. I heard the soft cry of a little boy. 

      I didn't know you had any siblings.  Well matter of fact you told me you didn't have any siblings.  Scar who's baby is that?   I say a little louder do to the fact she was in the other room getting the infant.

       She comes walking in with a blue eyed and dirty blonde haired boy wearing dinosaur pj's.  The tears rolling down her face makes me sad.  

       I-It's mine River.  I'm s-so sorry I didn't tell you.  It's ju-just something I don't want the whole school to find out about. 

       Scar I understand.  You don't have to feel bad for not telling me.  It something that not everyone needs to know about.  Its your business.

       Thanks River for understanding.  And please don't tell anyone not even the guys.  I'll tell them when I'm ready.

       I promise now you go get ready for school and I will watch him.  Whats his name by the way?

       Okay and his name is Dustin.

       I take Dustin from her arms and watch as she goes to her room to get ready.

       Well hey Dustin I'm River it's nice to meet you little man.  He looks up at me with a smile and gurgles.  It makes me laugh.  The door opens and in come a very frantic and tired women in her late thirties to early forties.

       Who are you and what are you doing with my grand baby? She asks me with a glare.

       Chill mom he is a friend of mine he was just watching him while I got ready for school.  And where were you?  You were supposed to get off like an hour ago. 

        I'm so sorry hun we had someone that took the day off so I had to take the shift till they found someone to replace me.

       I stand up and place my hand towards Scarlette's mom.  Hi, I'm River it's nice to meet you Mrs. Jenson.

       She takes her hand in mine and shakes it.  Hi River it's nice to meet you too.  You can call me Allison.  You guys better get to school before you're late. Mrs. Jenson says while she takes Dustin from me.

      Mom I'll talk to you later love you.   Scar states as she goes over and plants a kiss on both her mom's and Dustin's head.

       We get to school and hardly anyone is on the front lawn.  I walk ahead of Scarlette as we enter the school.  Screaming and cheering can be heard as we enter.  I look and see Raelynn on top of some girl punching her.  You can see the bruises and blood on Rae's fist and on the girl's face.  I see Asher rushing over to stop it but Rae turns around and punches him square in the face.  Scar is already near her with Amara and Brook.  I rush over and help Asher up.  I see some girls trying to get Rae off the girl but that only encourages Scar, Amara and Brook to join in.  Finally a couple teachers come to break it up but not before the girls take a swing at them. Its broken up and the crowd of people are gone but all the girls are in the Principle's office.  Us guys decide to hang around to see if the girls are okay.

       Do you guys know why the fight was even started in the first place?  I ask.

       I honestly don't I just saw Stella talking to Rae and then bam Rae was on top of her.  Greyson states.

I looked over at Asher's face.  Rae's fist had come in contact with his nose.  It had made it bleed and there was now a bruise starting to show.

       She has one fierce hit from the look of the bruise on Asher's nose.  Colts says smirking and chuckling.

       Just shut up Colt or I'll give you one of you own.  Asher states with a glare.

       We were all sitting against the wall when the door finally opens and out walks all the girls.  They look over at us with their bruised, scratched and busted faces.  Colt is the first one to get up and rush over to make sure Brook is okay followed by the rest of us.

       Are you guys okay?  I ask.

       Yeah we are suspended from school for 2 weeks but its not that worst thing that has happened to us.  Amara states.

       You mean there are worst things you guys have done?  Colt says.

      The girls look at each other and laugh.  

       We all decide since the girls have to leave school that why not we all just leave and hang out somewhere.  The girls suggested we go get milkshakes from Mav's and then go get the pups and take them to the dog park.

       So why did you start the fight Rae?  Asher asks.

       That bitch had it coming to her.  She has been talking shit about me and my girls.  So I just gave her what she deserved.

       Yeah and us girls just had her back when those other tramps interfered.  We had to make it a fair fight.  Brook butts in.

       But I could see the way Raelynn said it.  I knew she was lying.  And I think Asher knew as well when I saw him glance over at me. But neither one of us pushed it. 

       You girls really know how to take care of yourselves.  Where did you learn to do that?   Colt asked.

       We have our people.  And when you are regulars down at the track you learn somethings.  Rae says.

All the guys decided to just leave school too.  There wasn't really a good reason for us to stay anyway.  We would probably get ourselves suspended too.  

       Taking Scar back to her house it was quiet but wasn't an awkward quiet.  She had asked me earlier if I wanted to hang out a little and get to know her a little better.  I said says and we were now sitting in her room on her bed.  Dustin was on a play mat on the floor watching the puppy play with one of her toys.  He thought it was the funniest things in the world.  His giggles filled the room along with Scar's and mine.  

        You are probably wondering who the father is and how I ended up pregnant.  Aren't you?

       I had been thinking about it but I wasn't gonna ask her if she wasn't comfortable saying who it was and how.

      No but I mean kinda but I wasn't gonna push you on the subject.

      River I understand all the girls were a little curious when I first told them I was pregnant.

      So the girls knew.  Well why wouldn't they know she was their best friend. 

       He was my boyfriend my sophomore year.  He had been fooling around ever since we got together.

       Scar you don't have to do this. I interrupted.

       River I want to just let me talk please.

       It was because I wouldn't have sex with him.  I finally found out a month before my junior year that he was sleeping around.  I had confronted him and told him I wanted to break up.  He didn't like that and when my mom was at my Aunt's house one weekend he decided that he wasn't gonna let me break up with him before he got some from me.  I was home all alone the girls had asked if I wanted some company but I only denied it and told them I would be fine because I was just gonna read all weekend.  I had just gotten out of the shower and was getting dressed when I felt arms around me and a hand over my mouth.  It was him he had been watching me getting dressed.  I struggled to get out of his grip but he pushed me onto the bed and he r-raped me. 

       Scar I'm so sorry.  I couldn't handle seeing her cry.  I moved closer to her and wrapped my arms around her in a tight hug.  Letting her tears fill my t-shirt.

       After just sitting there and comforting her the sniffles began to stop and she was sound asleep.  I laid her down and covered her up.  Dustin was pulling on my pant leg trying to get my attention.  I picked him up and grabbed the bottle Scar had made for him earlier.  The puppy was asleep on the bed I had got him.  Dustin was now asleep so I put him in the bassinet in Scarlette's room.  I decided to sneak out before anyone of them woke up again.  

       I can't believe that had happened to her that douche bag deserves to rot in hell.  It didn't take long for me to decide to call Raelynn.  I had known she was lying earlier when she was telling us why the fight has started.  I really needed to know why.  She told me to meet her at the park after I had texted her asking about it.

       She was sitting at a picnic table listening to music.  When she saw me walking over she took her earbuds out.  I took a seat next to her.

       Your probably wondering why it really happened.  But before I do you have to promise to not tell her or anyone I told you this.

       Rae I know she has a son.  She told me about it today when I was at her house.  

       Did she tell you what happened?  

      Yes.  And before you tell me I know no one is to find out about this.

       That's the thing River, someone has found out about it.

       What do you mean someone has found out about it?  I though only you and the girls knew.  Who found out?

       Stella that bitch that I got in a fight with.  At the pool party she threatened to spill the secret if I didn't stay away from Asher.  And this morning when I got to school I heard her talking to her posse about it.  That's when all hell broke loose.  I couldn't stand the chance of it getting out.  It would ruin Scar.  

       Rae you have to tell Scar.  Its most likely gonna get out sooner or later its better if she knows and is prepared for it.  I can try to delay it as long as possible but someone is bound to find out and it will spread like a wildfire.  

       I know I just don't know how to tell her. She has so much going for her I thought I could handle it.

       You can't handle it by yourself you need to tell her.  

       Okay but please don't tell the guys or any of the girls for that matter.  I will take care of it I promise.

       I watched as Raelynn left knowing what it's like trying to protect someone but it only makes matters worse.  Heading home I could only think how can I stop this from spreading.  Instead of just going home I decided to make a pit stop.  I was not gonna let anyone ruin Scar's life.  No one deserves this.  But if it stops a whole school from finding out about someone's secret.  Its a risk I'm willing to take.
