Recognized, Robin B01.
Not knowing what to expect, Batman sent Wally ahead to the infirmary as he went to check out the Zeta hangar. Wally didn't dare to protest, knowing the infirmary had emergency energy bars special for speedsters. The one Batman gave him helped for a bit but he needed more asap before his body started burning through muscle. As he finally made his way to the infirmary, he laid Dick down on a bed as he started munching on the energy bars while preparing his own medical supplies. He could do part of his arms on his own, but for some of his burns he would need Batman's help to clean and dress them.
Meanwhile, Batman arrived at the hanger and froze in place. Upon the platform of the Zeta tube laid a young boy. He had dirty, grey looking hair with clumps of dried something in it. His clothes were all torn and ragged and looked significantly too big on him despite having the right length. But the part that worried him the most were what stood out the hardest. The boy had a pool of blood mixed with a green substance forming under him. Batman collected himself and rushed to the boy to turn him over and check for a pulse. At he did, however, he nearly lost balance as Robin's unconscious face looked back at him. He wasn't sure who the boy was or how the system recognized him, but he finally managed to check for a pulse.
Only to find none. He swiftly scooped up the boy and sprinted towards the infirmary. As he arrived he nearly broke down the door as he rushed to get the boy on a bed and hooked up to machines. Wally dropped his platter of supplies at the shock of Batman bursting through the door, let alone that he was carrying a near identical copy of what Dick looked like earlier.
"Wally." Batman didn't have to say any orders as the red head sprang into action and got as many supplies together as he could. Batman started ripping off the blood soaked shirt. The smell of iron and rot assaulting their noses as he uncovered the open wounds. The boy was covered in scars and bruises ranging in ages but he mainly focused on the big jagged gash that led from the boy's right shoulder almost completely to his left hip bone. They could almost count the ribs, but they didn't need the cut to see them. The boy was extremely emaciated and seemed near the brink of death. He almost would have been due to his lack of a heartbeat, had it not been for the continued bleeding and weak breathing.
Wally was tasked with cleaning up the area before Batman could start stitching it closed. If the immense putrid smell wasn't bad enough yet, Wally had to take a small breather as his cleaning uncovered a massive scar that didn't need much imagination to resemble a Y. The young red head had to step back for a moment to calm his stomach. This boy looked no older than his best friend. Hell he looked near identical to Dick. The thought itself that somebody would intentionally do that to somebody as young as him shook him to his core.
The teen took a deep breath before he went back in. As they worked to close the wound, it started leaking more of the green goo and less blood than before. They weren't particularly sure if this was a good sign or not but they had no time to debate. As Batman stitched up the boy, Wally took the time to look at the collar around the boy's neck. It looked similar to those used in Belle Rêve, but one of the distinct differences was that this one had a code name on it.
Project P01.
He tried to see if he could find an opening mechanism, but quickly pulled back as more of the green goo oozed from where he tried to move the skin out of the way. It almost appeared as the collar had created a massive wound where it sat. Unfortunately for them, it too had a putrid rotting smell. That was when he noticed another, smaller wound on the back of the boys shoulder. "I think we need to turn him over." Wally called out as Batman was nearly finished with the stitching on the kid's stomach.
After the stiches were covered with medical tape, they rolled the boy onto his side, careful not to jostle the new stiches. Fortunately, his back was immensely less bad than his chest. There were plenty of scars and cuts on his back but they all seemed to be in a differing stages of healing. They quickly treated the boy and fully wrapped up his torso as they took a break to assess further.
His entire body was covered with scars. Some were pale and old, others looked fresh.
His skin itself was incredibly pale and thin. In certain areas he could barely tell if it was a scar or a vein that raised the skin.
His right leg looked a bit wonky, old fractures that never healed properly.
His feet were covered in little scratches, likely from running without shoes.
His left shoulder looked like it had once been dislocated. Moving it a little, he heard a clicking noise as the joint popped in and out of the socket. Yet another injury that hasn't been properly set and treated.
He had a small cut over his eyebrow but it didn't seem as important as his other wounds. None the less it was something that he could do right now as most of them would have to wait until the major wounds healed up, or when he was in a better position to do a full body check.
Batman moved to dress the cut and try to clean up the dried blood and green goo from the area, hoping there aren't any more wounds hiding under it. As he brushed some of the matted hair out of the way, something stuck a bit further back caught his attention. Braided within the boy's outgrown hair, was a copper wire. This wouldn't have been of any significance if the wire didn't have a striking resemblance to a bird.
Or half of one at least.
He already thought that the resemblance with Dick was suspicious, but with Superboy's existence he wasn't sure. The report had said they were in extraction machines, but what was hidden in the braid was not something that could be copied. He cleaned up the cut and made sure to place a sturdy bandage around his head, covering any other possible cuts they didn't find yet. But more importantly, covering up his eyes before anybody outside of the current people here could see it. He wasn't sure if it really was him, but even if it wasn't, he had to cover up the resemblance to his own ward.
Truthfully, he could neither prove nor disprove that this really was him. The chances seemed slim, but his little family had always been filled with unpredictable miracles. Maybe this was simply yet another one of those. Either way, he needed to get Dick back home so he could rest in peace. Bruce wasn't sure just how bad this break was, but it seemed to have caused quite the damage to the cave, his team and himself. He turned towards Wally who had just started with hooking Dick up to some of the basic monitoring machines. "Nevermind that, I'm taking them back to the Batcave." They started packing up, making sure to destroy any of the supplies that were used on the boy or bagging it to be investigated later.
"Leaving so soon?" Barry was leaning against the doorframe of the room they were in. Bruce cursed at himself for failing to notice the older speedster had arrived. That could only mean that the rest of the League would be here soon as well, if they weren't already. He grunted as he continued to prepare to leave. "This isn't any of your business, Allen."
Barry pushed himself off of the doorframe as he entered the room. His usual smile missing from his face as he looked rather mad though the mask. "You see, that's where you're wrong. The League got a system failure alarm from the Cave, and just a few minutes later you were logged to have Zeta-ed here. Imagine my surprise to see the lounge destroyed and almost the entire team unconscious. Only to then find you in here with Robin and whoever that may be. Not only that, but my own nephew is covered in burns and is the only one who hasn't passed out. So yes, Batsy, It very much IS my business." With almost every sentence he walked closer to Batman until he was in reach to poke the man in the chest for his final few words. Batman had moved slightly so he would be in between anybody that would enter and the two boys on the beds. Wally awkwardly remained in between the two beds, but more to Robin's side who was closer to the door.
"What the hell happened here?!" They all could hear the yelling coming from the lounge. Batman sighed as he already knew other Leaguers had made it here. Not soon after, Black Canary stormed into the infirmary. "Oh course I find you here! Mind explaining what the meaning behind all of this is?!" She groaned as she too found Batman with only Robin and Wally.
Much to the dismay of Batman, Green Arrow had finally managed to catch up with them as well. Extremely confused, he didn't pay much attention as he walked in. "So, could anybody explain why, from what little I could actually understand, the team had been attacked by a 'white haired Robin'? Because that doesn't make much-oh." He finally noticed Wally shifting uncomfortably, silently trying to place himself between the leaguers and the boy behind him. There was no doubt they would think he was responsible for what Robin did earlier.
"Hold up," Canary called as she turned to face everybody. "You mean to tell me that that kid over there took down the team? And you're protecting him?!" She almost let out her cry in frustration as she focused her words towards Batman. Bruce, however, didn't react much as he stood ready to leave. Which he would if the three leaguers wouldn't be standing in his way. Wally however, being as awkward as ever, tried to break up the growing tension between the adults. "You don't understand, it wasn't him! I don't even really know where he came from, but he has this freaky collar on and I don't know what it means but it says 'project pr' and the zeta system recognized him and brought him here under robin's name but it isn't robin so yeah I don't really know who he is but he doesn't look good so we took care of his wounds and stuff and-" Flash rushed over to clamp a hand over Wally's mouth as he has slipped into speed talk that half of them didn't understand.
"Hold your horses, Kid. What do you mean the Zeta recognized him as Robin? Robin was already here before that. And what was that about a 'project p01'?" Flash asked as he was one of the two that understood what Wally had said. The younger didn't have much time to talk as Arrow almost immediately talked over anybody that tried to speak. "Wait, you mean that kid over there got recognized as Robin and is connected to some kind of project? You got to be kidding me. It's the whole Superboy mess all over again!" He threw his hands in his hair as he turned to slam his head into the wall. This was supposed to be a sleepover for team bonding. How did it end up with a Robin clone attacking them?
Canary rolled her eyes at Oliver's antics but went back to being serious within a split second. "If that's true, than we have to put the kid in custody. He took down the entire team. Likely went after Dick and M'gann first considering how little wounds they have compared to the rest."
Flash released Wally's mouth as he turned to the kid on the bed behind him. Before he could even touch a hair on his body, Batman grabbed his wrist. "Touch even a hair on his body and you will be losing that hand." Barry swallowed hard as he had never seen Batman this angry in front of others before. Not unless it concerned Robin's safety.
"Batman what are you doing? This kid could be dangerous! Aren't you always the one preaching about precautions?!" Canary started walking towards the two men. Wally stepped in front of her and held her back, blocking her way. "I'm sorry, but I won't let you get any closer." Canary stood shocked as she wasn't expecting him to block her. Could it be because he wanted to protect Robin, no matter which one of the two? The air in the lounge was incredibly charged with electricity so it wouldn't be that far of a reach he used up a lot of his strength speeding around. Which also would explain all the wrappers of the emergency energy bars in the trash.
"Kid," Oliver called out as he placed a hand on Wally's shoulder. "Did you hit your head or something? In case you aren't aware, but directly interfering with League business, partner or not, is treason. Let go of her and you'll only get a warning." Wally shrugged his hand off and looked the older blond in the eyes. "I don't care. You aren't coming near those two." Wally looked over to his mentor and smiled sadly. "I'm sorry, uncle Barry, but I don't think I'll make it to dinner tonight. Say sorry to aunt Iris for me."
With a final look at Batman, he turned serious again. They only have one shot at this, and it'll be risky but they have no choice. Batman dropped a handful of smoke bombs on the floor. Using the cover, Wally knocked out Oliver with a sedative filled syringe and wrapped bandages around Canary's arms and legs. Batman threw a little palette at Canary. As it made contact, it formed into foam that swelled up to cover her mouth. In the confusion of the fight, Barry escaped the room to somewhere he could safely use his speed and went to activate the ventilation for the infirmary.
With the two blond leaguers out of commission, Batman and Wally each picked up the nearest boy they were to and rushed outside. Wally sped ahead to the Zeta hanger. He carefully laid his friend down as he started tapping away at the holo-screen of the system. He allowed himself a victorious smile as he made his way thought the system defenses. After all of this, he for sure had to thank Dick for his speed course on hacking League systems. Batman made it to the hanger as Wally was still tapping away. "I need you to give in your access code and shut down the travel to the Batcave's zeta tube and temporarily shut this one down too!" Wally turned around to look at Batman but quickly had to jump up and rush over to the older man.
Barely a second after, he blocked the incoming hit from his uncle.
Wally kept Barry busy as Batman finished the coding and picked up Dick. He had to adjust his grip on both the boys as even he struggled to carry both while being mindful of their injuries.
"Go!" Wally yelled as he was starting to struggle. He knew he was much slower than his uncle, but the lack of energy was not helping his case at all. Batman ran onto the platform and hoped the AI would take both boys with him.
Wally waited until the AI finished with their departure code before he rushed over and finalized the coding. He had to jump out of the way yet again as a fist from his uncle came crashing down onto the control panel. Sparks were flying everywhere as bent metal and exposed wires lit up like fireworks.
Wally was very confused why Barry had been moving to match his speed instead of actually going at his usual speed. Was he too used to working with Wally's slower speed that he slowed himself down out of habit, or was there something else behind it?
He didn't have much time to think it over as he could tell time was running out quickly. No doubt they tripped some type of alarm system Batman had installed for situations exactly like this. Because of course he had. He's Batman. He plans for every improbable issue. Usually this would be a god sent in unexpected situations, but now? Now he was risking getting the blue boy scout on his ass.
Wally glanced a final time to his uncle who, surprisingly, hadn't tried to come after him again. Deciding to take this as a win, the red headed speedster mustered what little energy he had and ran as fast as he could. Praying nobody would follow him, he set off for anywhere his feet would take him.
