Would you say yes to death?
Nico POV.
Me and Will have been through two wars together. We've been dating for five years. But, Will knew he'd never make it to the age of 40.
Will has stage 4 lung cancer.
Will hasn't left the hospital in a year. I've visited him every day.
Today though, I picked up our daughter Bianca, and our son Lee. Bianca understood cancer because she was 10. Lee however, was 4 and only understood his dad was sick.
On the way to the hospital, Lee asked me "Dada? Why won't daddy Will eat soup to feel better? Auntie Kayla makes good soup." Bianca looked at me as if to ask You want to answer this?
"Well, Lee, not every sickness gets better by soup." I pulled into the hospital parking, and turned off the car. "But soup always makes me feel better." Lee protested, while trying- and failing to hold the balloons we got for Will.
Bianca took the flowers that we brought and set them aside in a vase. Lee tied the balloons to the end of the bed.
At first I thought Will's asleep but he opened one eye slowly "Bianca..... Lee... Down the hall... There's a ice machine.. can you get me some ice please?" Bianca and Lee nodded and left.
Will turned to me, and I could tell. "Nico... I need.... Ask you...." Will spoke very painfully and slowly. I moved closer to him so I could hear. "Yes my love?"
Will pulled out a small back box "Nico... Will you marry... Me?" I nodded to afraid to speak, but then I realized his eyes where closed "Yes. Of course"
A small tear raced down his face "Thank....... You.... Neeks.."
He sighed, and died happily.
I heard a cup of ice crash "DaDa Will?"
"Dad? Is Will Asleep?"
"Yes."
"When will DaDa wake up"
"When we fall asleep."
