Manami's POV

We walked to the nearest village to help Fujiko, for what reason? I still don't know, Sasori just insisted on it. He told us that while we were there we could also have someone take a look at Deidara. I tried to protest but gave in as I knew it would be better if Deidara could move faster rather than slow us down with his injuries.

We are currently waiting in a hospital while Deidara and Fujiko are being treated. Sasori was sitting beside me in his puppet form and was staring into space. I have never seen Sasori be so kind to someone unless he found them to be of some sort of use. Even in that case he would just manipulate them into doing what he desired but this time is different. This time it looks like he wanted to help that girl and I want to know why.

"Sasori?" I asked.

"Hm?" he replied never taking his eyes of the opposite wall.

"Why'd you help Fujiko?" I blurted out and he looked at me from the corner of his eyes.

"She needed help and I thought we could help her while we were heading this way" he shrugged and I became very confused.

"Yeah but why?" I persisted and he turned to look at me fully now.

"What do you mean why? You were the one who loved to help others, I thought you would want to help a young girl in need" he retorted.

"I used to want to help people, just like you did, but things change. We changed and it is not like you at all to want to help some poor innocent girl without a very good reason" I snapped slightly and Sasori ignored me looking in front of him again. I watched as Deidara came walking out of the hospital room looking far better and practically healed again. "Well there's Deidara out, let's get going" I told him standing up but he didn't move at all. I looked at him shocked but he just shook his head at me.

"I'm not going. I want to see if Fujiko is okay and if she needs anything else" he informed me and I suddenly became a little annoyed at him.

"You just met her! She is weak and will just slow us down even further. She is useless!" I protested angrily and he glanced over at me calmly.

"Maybe she knows where the first piece of the master puppet is. If I gain her trust, maybe she will helps us" Sasori explained hoping it would clam me down but it didn't.

"That's only if she knows where it is and that is a big if!" I retorted.

"It's worth a try considering we don't know where exactly the piece is" Sasori shrugged and I bit my lip to prvent myself from saying anything else. I felt like punching Sasori really hard until his stupid puppet face cracked but thankfully Deidara noticed and grabbed my shoulder to calm me down. I sighed and followed Deidara out of the hospital, telling Sasori that we would meet him at the nearby hotel when he was done. Sasori barely nodded and I stormed out of the hospital as quickly as I could.

"What has gotten you so wound up, un?" Deidara asked, smirking and I glared at him until I began to think about it. Why am I so angry? Sasori is just trying to help and that girl will be out of our hair soon enough.

"I don't know. I guess I over reacted" I admitted and Deidara snickered.

"I'd say you were jealous, yeah" he chuckled and I refused to acknowledge his last statement which caused him to laugh harder. "Don't worry! Sasori Danna really cares for you. He wouldn't want any other girl; especially one he has just met, un" Deidara tried to reassure me and I sighed knowing he was right.

"Yeah whatever, kid" I mumbled and he smirked. "Wipe that grin off your face before I do it for you" I threatened and he burst out laughing.

"Okay, Okay. It's gone... see" he put his hands up in the air and tried very hard not to laugh or smirk. I just rolled my eyes when the corner of his mouth twitched and the cocky smile returned. "I'm sorry, yeah. I can't control my emotions like you and Danna, un" he tried to persuade me but I just shook my head at his poor attempt.

"You're hopeless sometimes, you know that?" I chuckled and he smirked putting his arm around my shoulders, ignoring the look of disapproval I sent his way.

"So what now boss?" Deidara teased and I rolled my eyes grabbing his hand and pushing his arm off me.

"Now we go to try and find clues on where this missing piece might be" I informed him and he smiled stretching his hand out while bowing slightly.

"Lead the way, un" he chuckled and I couldn't help but smile at his ridiculous attitude. "See I knew you puppets could smile, just wait till I get Danna to smile!" he said while putting his hands in his pockets.

"Well the way you go about trying to make Sasori smile is completely wrong, if anything you make him want to kill you" I retorted and Deidara laughed.

"What can I say, I'm just a lovable kind of guy" he replied and this time it was my turn to laugh. I brought out my grandfathers book and used my chakra to reveal the ink written on the pages. Maybe if I can find some entries from his time in this village, I will find who may know something. "Who's Kiyomi?" Deidara asked and I looked up from the book to look at him curiously. He pointed towards a bakery window that had a news article stuck to it with a picture of some woman named Kiyomi and... my grandfather?

"I don't know let's go in and ask" I replied walking towards the shop.

When we entered a small bell on the door rang, alerting the owner of our presence and the smell that hit you was almost heavenly. It smelt like yeast, cinnamon and coffee. There were bagels in shiny layered rows, topped with seeds and onions. In the glass case, sugar sparkled like snow on the cinnamon twists, jelly donuts gleam in their translucent icing. If I were still human I knew I would be craving some of the golden brown breads or sugary delicacies that were on display and one look at Deidara told me he was thinking the same thing.

"Hello there may I help you?" an elderly woman asked over the counter and I smiled warmly at her.

"Yes I was wondering if you could help me find someone?" I questioned politely and she smiled back at me.

"I would love to try and help. Who is it you are looking for?" she quizzed and I pointed to the news article that was stuck to the window of her store.

"I believe her name is Kiyomi" I informed her and her smile faded very quickly.

"I'm awfully sorry dear but my mother, Kiyomi passed away last month" she replied.

"I'm sorry for your loss m'am" I said sadly and she smiled back at me.

"It's quite alright dear. Is there a reason you and your friend here are looking for her? Maybe I can help?" she wondered.

"We were just wanting to talk to her about an antique her and my grandfather, Isao Hisakawa, found a while back" I said and she shook her head.

"I'm sorry, I don't remember where she put any of her antiques but she had told me to give your grandfather this when I next saw him" she handed me a small piece of paper that had, 'It will always lie with me', written on it. "Is that all?" she wondered and I looked over to Deidara, then back at her.

"No, can I have six of those please?" I wondered and she smiled and went to grab me six of the bagels Deidara had been drooling over throughout our entire conversation.

"Here you go, that'll be 720 yen please" she said handing me the six bagels while I handed her the money and then thanked her once again for helping us out before I left her store.

"Here" I said to Deidara handing him the six bagels. He just stood there frozen for a while before I grew annoyed and shoved them into his hands. "I said here. If you really don't want them I am sure I can find someone else who wants them" I snapped, which seemed to break him from his daze.

"Um... Thanks, un" he replied, looking at me like I had three heads. "What's the catch?" he quickly asked me and I began to feel annoyed.

"Just eat the damn Bagels" I mumbled before walking off to the graveyard.

"Where are we going?" Deidara spoke before taking another mouthful of bagel.

"To the graveyard" was my blunt reply.

"Why, un?" he asked again.

"Because I bet that she had the piece buried with her" I informed him and he began to choke on his food.

"Wow, wait! You want to go digging up some poor woman's grave?" He quizzed shocked and I nodded. "What if the letter she wrote just meant that she was going to take the secret to her grave, un?" he wondered.

"Exactly what I was thinking Deidara" I smirked.

"That's not what I meant" he sighed following behind me and I chuckled.

When we got there I took out a scroll and out poofed my five tiny puppets. I then made them walk to different places all around the perimeter to keep guard while Deidara and I searched for a gravestone saying Kiyomi's name on it. We soon found it and I sat on a nearby rock closing my eyes to concentrate on what the puppets were seeing.

"Hurry up and use an earth jutsu while nobody is around" I told him and from what I heard he did as I said.

"Done, un" he spoke and I looked down the gaping hole to see a single brown coffin. I jumped down and opened it up with a little help from Deidara. "There is nothing here except some poor old ladies remains, un" Deidara deadpanned and I sighed in annoyance.

"I guess you were right Deidara. I'm sorry Kiyomi" I apologized and was about to put the lid back on the coffin until I saw a blue sparkling orb. I reached into the coffin once more and retrieved it, smirking at Deidara.

"Okay so maybe you were right" he shrugged and I rolled my eyes before pulling the lid of the coffin back into place and jumping out of the hole in the ground.

"Deidara can you re-bury Kiyomi?" I asked him when he joined me.

"Yeah but what will you be doing, un?" he wondered while getting ready to do his earth jutsu.

"Sasori just entered the forest to the west of the graveyard according to my puppets so I am going to meet up with him and let him know about what we have found" I informed him and he nodded. "Also I think you should take this" I told him handing him the small blue orb and he looked at me like I was crazy.

"Don't argue just take it. If the enemy captures me then at least they will only get the map rather than the orb but if I have both then we have lost" I tried to explain and he accepted it once he understood what I was trying to say. "Besides you can hide it's glowing by hiding it in your clay. Try making sure the clay doesn't blow up though would you Deidara?" I sighed slightly and he chuckled at me.

"Have a little more faith in me Manami" he smirked and I smiled back at him before walking off to pack up my puppets and find Sasori. It took a matter of seconds for my five puppets to return to me and then I sealed them back in the scroll before walking into the forest where I saw Sasori heading. Luckily it didn't take too long to find him and I smiled when I heard him talking but when I reached there I froze to the spot.

"S-Sasori?" I whispered in shock but he didn't notice me. He was too busy sucking face with the girl we found in the forest. I felt my heart shatter and tears began to run down my face as he continued to kiss the girl, oblivious to my presence. I stormed off in another direction, walking deeper into the forest as my heart raced with anger and betrayal. How could he do something like this to me? He was actually enjoying it. He didn't even pull away from her, if anything he was pulling her closer. I felt anger rising in my chest causing me to punch a nearby tree with all the force I could handle. I hit it over and over again, feeling my anger doubling each time until I finally fell to my knees out of exhaustion and began to sob.

"My poor baby, did your puppet boy break your heart?" I heard a familiar voice coo. I jumped to my feet and got into a defensive stance with my scrolls at the ready. "I'm not here to hurt you my daughter" he spoke softly.

"Oh really? And how am I supposed to believe you when you tried to kill me last time we met!" I screamed at him and he frowned at me.

"That was a mistake. You have grown strong, just what I expect from my flesh and blood. I was a fool for wanting a son when you are just as good if not better" he apologized and I scoffed at him.

"You really think I would forgive you and join you after what you tried to do to me? Well you're sadly mistaken FatherI hissed and he smiled at me.

"My dear Manami, you don't have a choice in the matter. You will be joining me, you and that diary of your grandfathers. You see I have you right where I want you" he said in a sickly sweet tone, making me fight back a laugh. My eyes widened though when I realized I couldn't move and I looked at the ground to see that there were markings all over the spot I was standing on and the next thing I knew everything was black.
