Bucky was in awe of the beauty surrounding him as looked out of the balcony of Zoe's bedroom in the palace. The healers were attending to her wound and needed to examine her and had shooed both him and Thor out the room. Thor was pacing up and down the length of the balcony. "I should have been there helping her fight that snake, then this wouldn't have happened" snapped Thor bringing his fists down on the banister in frustration. Bucky also felt guilty for not being with Zoe fighting he had been trapped in his own mind fighting of the Winter Solider. "I wasn't much help either that monster almost turned me into the Winter Soldier... I could have ...Hurt her" Bucky stutter bitterly.Thor turns to Bucky "No Bucky I saw you fight it and you won and because of that you got her that shield that helped her defeat Chrysoar" replied Thor slapping Bucky's back.

Bucky just nodded looking out at the vast city before him "This place is really quite breathtaking and very calming" said Bucky with a sigh. Thor sighed and smiled "Yes I agree I sometimes forget how truly amazing this place is" replied Thor. The two men just stood there in silence for few minutes when a voice behind them got their attention they turned to see Frigga Thor's mother standing there. Bucky practically ran to her "Is Zoe going to be okay you're Highness?" he asked with concern his tone. Frigga just shook her head "We have stopped the poison for now but she will definitely need the ambrosia soon or she will.." replied Frigga quietly. Bucky felt his heart drop and it felt like his soul was shattering "No, no I can't lose her" he cried Bucky felt a strong arm catch him not even realizing that his feet had collapsed under him.

Thor guided Bucky towards the door but Bucky stops him  "No I have to see her I am not going anywhere but by her side" shouts Bucky pulling away from Thor. Bucky stands up straight "I am not leaving" says Bucky firmly. Frigga nods "You are a stubborn man Sir James but you must calm down if you are going to around her, She needs peace and calm do I make myself clear" reply's Frigga with a queenly tone. Bucky takes a deep breath and nods "Of course your majesty" Bucky responses with a slight bow. 

Athena walks into the room all eyes turn to her she looks worn and sullen. "Bucky please come she is asking for you" said Athena tensely. Bucky walked quickly over to her "Please take me to her" he pleas. Athena gathers her skirts and walks towards the bedchamber.  Entering the room Bucky sees Zoe laying in a huge four poster bed, her curly dark hair flowing around her. A little bit of sunlight was streaming in and lightly shining on Zoe's face making her have an angelic glow about her. It took his breath away especially when Zoe gave him a weak smile "Hey Bucky" said Zoe in a raspy voice. Bucky was by her side in just few strides "Oh Angel" response Bucky  standing by her bedside. Zoe just looked up at him and saw the worry written all over his face. She reached up for his hand which he grasped tightly "Bucky please sit down you are making me nervous" she says pointing to a chair near her bed. Bucky looked behind him and pulled the chair close to the bed while not letting go of her hand in fear of letting go he might lose her forever. Bucky finally settled he looked into her beautiful eyes that reminded him of cinnamon he just couldn't look away, the way he felt when she looked at him was that he was whole and not broken, no judgement and all trust, no hate and just hope.

Zoe POV a few moments before
Zoe laid in the biggest bed she had ever seen in her life it was beyond comfortable and she was so exhausted and her side was bandaged and it hurt. Her mother had hardly left her side it was hard for Zoe to have all this attention, basically her whole life she had to take care of herself that this was overwhelming with Athena's hovering. She could tell Athena was trying to remain calm but Zoe could tell that she was worried. Zoe watched as Athena was cleaning up breakfast which Zoe hadn't eaten much of. "Athen..mom" Zoe stuttered then fell silent. Athen froze for a second and turn around to face Zoe. "Yes,Owlet?" responded Athena trying to keep a passive look on her face. "Is Bucky near by?" Zoe asked running her hands along the silken comforter. Athena just smiled and nodded "Yes, the man has been pacing back and forth out there in the balcony worried about you my dear, he won't rest and has barely eaten, I don't think he will until he sees that you are alright" replies, Athena.

Zoe just shakes her head "Oh Bucky, I wish he would take better of himself and not worry so much" responses Zoe. Athena frowns "Zoe, of course he is worried someone who he cares deeply for is hurt" says Athena. Zoe sighs "Bucky does really care for his friends" she whispers. Athena gives a small chuckle "Oh my sweet Owlet, It's deeper then that that man loves you and the bond you two have is fate and I know you have felt it" says Athena giving her daughter a knowing look. Zoe looks down and shakes her head " I do feel connected to him but I can't think more then friendship Mom, I am with Steve and I love him" said Zoe firmly. Athena gave her a smile "The Moirai have woven all our fate lines my dear girl you can't change your destiny not even Zeus has that power, Bucky and you have interwoven fate will bring you two together" responses Athena. Zoe didn't say anything she did know what to say so she chose to ignore the subject.

"Speaking of Zeus has he said anything about sending the cure or not" asked Zoe. Athena frown "He won't be sending it" she mumbled. Zoe closed her eyes as tear ran down it Athena saw this "No, my dear he won't be sending because he is bringing it himself" replied Athena with a smile. Confused Zoe open her eyes and looked at her mother "Why would he do that?" she asked. Athena sat down on the bed and grabbed Zoe's hand "Because he wants to see you again, he adored you when we were first here" said Athena with a slight smile looking back on those few happy days. Surprised by this info Zoe tilted her head "I meet him?" she asked. Athena nodded "Most of the Olympians did want to meet you" shrugged Athena. Zoe eyes widen "Why there have been many demigods before what's so special about me?" asked Zoe shaking her head in disbelief. Athena rolled her eyes and sighed "You were born from two soulmates which is rare for gods I have only seen it once before been Eros and Psych..even then the love I felt for your father was beyond all reason which head rule my mind for millennia it changed my world... my life and I was taken and through all the pain and darkness that love was what I held on too and gave me the will to fight on and not fall into the darkness.." sighed Athena sadly she paused for a moment shaking her head. Zoe gripped her mother hand, Athena just held on tighter "Then one day when I was at my lowest there he was older but still just as charming and it was like no time had past and we just held on to each other and soon you were on your way" said Athena.

Zoe just shakes her head "I wish that you didn't have to go through all that" said Zoe sadly as she looked down. Athena hand was under chin and lifted it up so Zoe would be looking into her mother's eyes "I would live through a thousand life times like that because it brought you into my life even I didn't get raise you myself but I had did watch over you even in the other reality" responded Athena. Memories flashed through Zoe's mind of the lake with her adoptive family "Whitehall Pond near Rutland where the Williams and I use to go for hikes" replied Zoe quietly. Athena nodded "Yes it's small portal or rip between realities and I could only go in my owl form" replied Athena. Tears rolled down Zoe eye then she started laughing "You attacked Nicole that truly was one of the best moments of my teens, she had to miss homecoming because of the scratch marks you left" giggled Zoe. Athena just shrugged "Well she threw a stick at me and I heard her boasting how pathetic it was that you the mouse couldn't get a date to the dance, and her parents said or did nothing to correct her so I took the matters in my own hands... No one call my Owlet names especially a mouse" snapped Athena. Zoe just smiled at her "Thanks Mom I do have to admit those walks around Whitehall Pond was some of the most peaceful times minus Nicole jabs" replied Zoe.

"So when Gramps Z and with his entourage?"asked Zoe looking at her mother. Athena smirked at the nickname " My father and his wife will be here in two days time along with my siblings Artemis and Ares and my Uncle Poseidon and Aphrodite, I love the nickname but it's probably best to address him your lord or as your majesty until told other wise and always address Hera and Poseidon the same way." said Athena tensely. "Of course Mom I am going to be safe with them here are you sure they are going to give me the cure I did kill Poseidon's son?" asked Zoe with a worried look on her face. Athena nodded "Father has already decided it he understands that your life was under threat you had no choice but defend yourself and your friends you in no way provoked the attack it was all Chrysoar and his sister want of revenge" replied Athena with a bitter look. Zoe narrow her eyes at the mention of Peggy and it made her wonder "Mom did you have any clue about Peggy Carter's heritage and that she was the one who captured you?" asked Zoe. Athena shook her head Poseidon hide her very well I mean she was a horse with wings when she was born and when I meet her in the 40's I was Erskine and started working with your father he was so different from any other mortal and his mind was so brilliant and I wanted him to know me so I came with Thea and he was so charming that it blinded me in many ways, I knew that she had been sleeping with him but Howard promised me that it has been nothing more then a fling and he ended it before we even started and the Rogers came into the picture so I thought she moved on but then she kept showing up at the weird times and was really into the super solider serum which seem odd for someone her position I thought she was off but Howard said it was just her being curious and wanting to give answers to Colonel Phillips, I did always wonder who let that Hydra agent in at the testing of Rogers serum now I know" said Athena.

"Will Poseidon or Hera try anything?" asked Zoe Athena frown "No, they wouldn't dare you are the beloved granddaughter of Zeus so they don't want his wrath but are highly honored guest off Odin and Frigga they wouldn't dare unless they wanted a war with the nine realms but as a precaution you will always have someone with you myself, Thor will be by your side" replied Athena firmly. Zoe bit her lip "What about Bucky will he be safe around them with him being mortal?" asked Zoe in worried tone. Athena just bit her lip trying to smile "He is under my and Thor's protection but if you want him near by that can be arranged as well" said Athena. Zoe nodded happy to know that he would be safe "Can you ask him to come here I want to see him and thank him for saving me" asked Zoe. Athena stood up "Of course Owlet".

Bucky's POV
Bucky just held on to her hand "Zoe, Angel how are you feeling?" he asks tensely. Zoe gave him a smile "I am a little sore and tired but okay" replied Zoe. Bucky couldn't take his eyes off of her he was scared to asked but he had to know "Are you going to get the cure please tell me that you are?" he pleaded. Zoe sat up a let more trying to get more comfortable "Bucky yes, Zeus and other Olympians will be here in two days which is why I asked for you, I was wondering if would mind staying by my side while they are here it would make so much comfortable with you near by"asked Zoe. Bucky's heart beat faster she wanted near by, she was comforted by him this made him so happy. "Of course Doll I will by your side till my last breath"said Bucky with a smile. Zoe just shook her head  "Well you are going to keep by my side for along time" said Zoe without really thinking. Bucky didn't say anything but just keep smiling at the thought of it.
