Zoe went to her room where she had left her phone and saw that she had seven missed calls from Tony. She press on Tony's name to call him it didn't even ring twice before he picked up "Hello Tony" greeted Zoe has she heard the phone stop ringing. "Oh my sister can talk now that she doesn't have a Capicle's tongue down her throat" snapped Tony. Zoe almost dropped her phone at that comment she shook her head "TONY Really?" asked Zoe frustrated. "Well, I am trying to get hold of you and can't, so I call Nat and she informs that you are busy making out with Birthday Boy on the couch well that is some gift sweet sister" said Tony making kissing noises on the phone. Annoyed she huffed on the phone "Are you done yet Anthony?" asked Zoe. Tony just chuckled over the phone "Yes, for now but I am calling you back to had a question about your birthday?" asked Tony.

"Yeah do know when it actually is Tony I have no idea, I hardly remember anything before 5 except the few flashbacks that I have had" answered Zoe. Tony sighed "I of course I remember it's April 11th, I mean I didn't get to meet you till you were about 6 months old but dad did say April 11th" replied Tony.  Zoe's mind started to race "So how did dad bring me home didn't your mother find odd that just one day out the blue he bring home this baby girl?" asked Zoe. Zoe heard Tony sigh "Dad had been struggling ever since he got rescued from Hydra just completely threw himself into work barely stopping to eat or sleep" responded Tony.

Zoe gave out a small laugh "Mmm apple doesn't fall far from tree does it?" said Zoe. Tony gave a quick laugh "Hate to admit it but very true" said Tony. "So dad just got lost in his own world?" asked Zoe. "Yeah my mom really tried but it was like part of him was just missing we thought it was what happen it Hydra but I think he was missing your mom and you" said Tony with a sad tone. "Oh Tony I am so sorry maybe it was both" Zoe sighed. "Probably, mom wanted him to get counseling but he refused any way one day almost six months later he just disappeared and was gone for four days" said Tony. Zoe gasped "Just left without a word for four days?" asked Zoe. Zoe could hear Tony shuffling things around "Tony is everything okay?" asked Zoe nervously. Tony cleared his throat "Zoe it's just hard remembering this time" replied Tony. Zoe got a wave of guilt bringing up painful memories for her brother "Tony if you don't want to talk about this I understand completely" said Zoe. "It maybe hard but you deserve to know what happened just give me a moment to collect my thoughts" replied Tony. Zoe sat down on her bed to get more comfortable "Take all the time you need Bubba" said Zoe calmly.

Tony chuckled softly but was quiet for a few minutes before he continued "Dad was gone for four days then he just showed up and he had you him, he told my mom and me that you were the daughter of a friend who passed away in car accident and he just couldn't let you go into foster care and wanted to adopt you" said Tony. "That must have been a shock to you guys" said Zoe. Tony let another laugh "It definitely was especially to me but dad took you and pointed at me and said Zoe this is your big brother Tony, you looked right at me and held out your arms and just said "Bubba Bubba?" your big brown eyes literally pierced my soul and I was a goner" said Tony. Zoe's eyes started to water "Really that's how you got your nickname?" asked Zoe. "Yep, it was so amazing that feeling of holding you in my arms for the first time an overwhelming sense of love came over me and I just had to make sure that you were happy and safe" replied Tony in soft tone.

"Thanks for telling me that Bubba it means a lot to me you have no idea to know that at least one person loved me" sighed Zoe trying not to cry. Tony started to cough "Of course Zo-Zo, I am sorry that you ever felt that way" croaked Tony. They were silent for a few moments before Zoe asked "How did your mom take it?". Tony cleared his throat "She had always wanted a daughter so she warmed up to it at first but like I said before you weren't the dress wearing type and while well behaved for most part your weren't overly girly so it was hard for you two connect sometimes" replied Tony pausing for second then continue "She really did love you Zoe please know that so when she found out the truth it just broke her heart and it made her bitter and the Carter women didn't help the situation at all" said Tony in a bitter tone.

Zoe sneered at the mention of Carter's name "I will hate that women forever for ruining my life but I will never understand why she never tried again with our father" said Zoe. "I have wondered that too, but I guess we will never know" said Tony. There was a knock on Zoe's door "Hang on Tony someone is at my bedroom door" said Zoe.  Tony grumbled "It's fine we will talk later I think I know who that is and don't want to hear anything I shouldn't so I let you go but dear sister please use protection I don't want anymore super soldier gods running around yet..." said Tony quickly before hanging up. Zoe gasped and blushed deeply. "Oh my god I want to kill him sometimes"whispered Zoe shaking her head.

Someone at the door knocked again Zoe quickly opened it to see Bucky. Zoe looked surprised but smiled "Hey Bucky what can I do for you?" asked Zoe pleasantly. Bucky stood there quietly for just few seconds Zoe. "Bucky do you need anything?" asked Zoe with an arched eyebrow. Bucky gave her a small "Yeah Doll we are about to start barbecuing so I thought I would come and grab you" replied Bucky quietly. Zoe's eyes widen "Oh crap I lost track of time, thanks for coming and reminding me" said Zoe. "Of course doll let's go" said Bucky.

They had whole spread with Hamburgers and hotdogs with all the fixings. Chips and salads pasta, green, potato jello salads. Zoe loaded her plate she was excited to dig in she sat down next Nat and crossed from Steve who gave her a smile which she returned. "Well Sugar, you really out did yourself on our dinner here thank you" said Steve. "Your welcome Steve I hope your enjoying your birthday day today" said Zoe. Steve gave her a smirk and an arched eyebrow "I think it's been one of the best ones that I have have ever had" replied Steve. Zoe gave Steve a knowing look "I am glad that your birthday has been good one Steve" said Zoe. "All because of you Sugar" said Steve with a wink. Bucky and Nat groaned and Zoe blushed. "Steve I think we have a enough cheese on the burgers" snapped Nat.

After everyone had their fill of food and were done cleaning up. Steve pulled Zoe aside away from the others  "So Sugar, since your annoying big brother interrupt us earlier I was wondering how you were going to make it up to me like you promised" whispered Steve pressing light kisses behind her ear and down her neck. Zoe closed her eyes as the feeling of his movements. "Well....I did make you a strawberry shortcake for your birthday" gasped Zoe. Steve pulled back and looked into her eyes "Oh no Sugar, as sweet as that might be I much rather just be here and taste your sweet kisses" whispered Steve as smiled at hearing her gasp. Zoe grabbed him by the waist and with all her strength push him against the wall and  captured her lips with his the kisses were stronger then the one they had share before. Their hands pulled each other closer as they continue to kiss. Zoe pulled away leave Steve panting she gave him a smirk and placed a small kiss behind his ear "I hope that was worth the wait honey" she whispered. He groaned "mmmm" not quite getting words out she pressed her forehead to his "Happy Birthday Steve" she said quietly. They stood there for a few moments just holding on to each when Bucky cleared his throat "Umm sorry to interrupt but Nat wants to know if you guys want cake" said Bucky softly. Zoe looked at Bucky who was looking anywhere but at her and Steve then his eyes flickered to hers for a brief second there was a jolt of pain that hit her heart and she step out of Steve's arms. Bucky didn't say anything else but just walk back towards the kitchen. Steve step towards her and pulled her back into his arms then took her chin with his hand and bent down and kissed her softly then pulled away "Alright Sugar let's go get some birthday cake" said Steve with his arm still around her waist and lead her into the kitchen.
